- When you hear the words “Israeli settler,” you probably think religious, radical, living in the middle of nowhere. But the truth is there are all kinds of settlers and all kinds of settlements.
There are so many reasons people live in the settlements - and they’re not always what you think.
Some settlers live in the West Bank for ideological reasons; others live there because it’s cheap. Some settlers are religious; others are secular. Some settlers made a conscious decision to live in Judea and Samaria; others grew up there and want to be close to family.
This week we’re breaking through the stereotypes, shutting down the misconceptions and learning a thing or two about the settlers and the settler movement.

Is there any social movement in Israel that explains to Jews that it's their duty to live in Judea and Samaria?
Not that we know of. There are people that feel that it is "the right thing to do", while others feel like "it's their right" to live there, but there is no organization that tells the public that it is a Jew's duty to live there.
@@UNPACKED It's sad that there is no such an organization which unites the people on the basis of their Biblical predestination.
They believe that they should claim the promised land and take the ancient sites where they claim it Holy. Such as, Bethlehem, Jerusalem, and many more. Bethlehem is the birth place of Jesus and Jerusalem was where Jesus was crucified. These both signify a great meaning to all religions which believes in Jesus. As a Christian, we believe in studying these and visiting these than capturing it since in Christianity, we're strict with the commandments and it embraces us by heart.

At 8:25: what does the 5% refer to exactly? You mention later that Area C is 60% of the West Bank, so how could settlements be only 5% of the West Bank? Counting the city limits of settlements only will obviously reduce the 60%, but not to 5% I'd think
5% of the West Bank is settled by Israelis, and 60% is controlled by Israel (the IDF).

I think, by the law of two states, all should be able to set themselves everywhere within the frontiers stablished by God through His messenger Moses (mentioned by the tradition and the muslim cult) or they should leave for their own place of origin because even by history, through the records of the people of His messenger that didn't lie about their deeds, the nation of Israel was invaded and slaved unfairly.

The Six Day War was fought against Egypt, Jordan, and Syria, wasn't it? Not against Palestinian Arabs (correct me if I'm mistaken there). But your question remains good - what if Israel had lost and the three Arab nations that fought against it had won? The answer is there wouldn't be any discussion of Israelis right to live there because there would no longer be any such thing as an Israeli. Nasser explicitly stated that his aim was to wipe Israel off the face of the map. To him, that's what winning would have looked like.

History, archaeology, genealogy and the Bible prove Jews originated in Judaea. They were exiled a number of times or they would have never left. They have a right to return, in the face of European/global anti semitism or not.

6:24 Except for the fact that the settlers have made the state of Israel far less secure. Something like October 7 wouldn't have happened if the IDF hadn't focused so much on stationing their soldiers in the West Bank to man checkpoints around Israeli settlements and harass Palestinians living there. Israel would be a much more safe and secure country if the settlements had never been built and a two-state solution might have been possible.
