    Tina, it's amazing that you were only 16 in this video. Today, in another Zoom meet, I'll finally get to talk with Ellen Alverdyan. Ellen is an 11 year old girl who lives in Las Vegas. She has played bass guitar for several years now and has a huge following. Ellen loves classic rock, and she has appeared on stage with Victor Wooton and Steve via.she really is the real deal, and I can't wait to see what she will be doing in 2024. Again, this is beautiful. Thanku for recognizing me wearing your shirt. That made my day and more. Happy new year and I can't wait to see u play live next year, along with Connie, Jake Thistle, and Helen O'shea. Last year,Helen performed on stage with Brandi Carlisle standing beside her. Jake thistle attends Rutgers New Brunswick and already has a 3 album record deal. Jake is now 19, and I have known him since he was 14. Bruce Springsteen and Jackson Brown know all about jake. These are just some of my friends who have helped get me through each day and year. I'm blessed to have been able to speak with each one of you, and for that, I'll always be grateful!
    Best wishes always ❤️,
    Robert zeligson

      Neither Victor Wooten nor Steve Vai comprehend classical music because they can't write figured bass. If students of music want to understand the music they practice and perform, they need to look elsewhere rather than to those two musicians. I'm not aware of Brandi Carlisle's education but I would guess she is similarly non-equipped.

      After reading the reply below, I now understand more why Connie, Amalie, and other artists get depressed and suffer from anxiety on a daily basis. This isn't a game called King of the Hill. Thier is room for all artists to thrive in all types of ways. Just because someone isn't classically trained doesn't mean the world of music is closed to them. I was just pointing out how social media has enriched my life. Social media and the artists named above have helped me get through my 14 surgeries and my 8 near death experiences. I told Connie the details of her hit song, Quiet, and ejst it mesns to me. It was personal and embarrassing. But by doing that, I was able to let go of a horrible trauma that I suffered on the 3rd floor of a local hospital 🏥. I've had chrohnes desease for over 35 years now. I volunteer for my illnesses ' foundation. We have a yearly event at Lincoln Financial Field. The Philadelphia Eagles and their team of employees have made the third Sunday in June, a special one for thousands of us that suffer each and every day. They have taken me into the Eagles interview room and locker room, and I walked onto the grassless field. There is no American football in June, but not having a full field doesn't matter. The best part for me was musical. I was running under the giant speaker that led onto the field. I'm confident that the people who wrote and played this song probably weren't classically trained as well. It was thrilling to hear Ac/DC sing "for those about to rock, we salute u,". This made another dream come to life.i have no bad things to say about the person or the comments below. What i will say is that every day, I have the opportunity to teach children ages 5 to 17, behaviors, and the ability to lift people up, and never, ever , break them down. After all I just said , I would like to thank Susan Aquilla, a classically trained violinist who also appeared on stage for Diana Ross, at Radio City Music Hall, just a few months ago. Thanks, Susan, for the wonderful text message you just left me. You said many beautiful things about me supporting other artists.Thanku! thanku Finally , Tina, for again noticing me wearing your merch last week. It lets fans like ne know that u are always listening and watching. Thanks again for being so open and encouraging because no one ever knows who the next star will be. I'm pulling for Tiny Umbreallas and her friend Lexi Carrol to light up the stages in the u.k. and beyond!

    • @grandpianist
      @grandpianist 6 місяців тому

      I just left Ellen a message. Her father and mother are both musicians. She very well may be classically trained. We shouldn't make assumptions. Especially when a child is only 11. There was a lot of talk about Jake Thistle when he was in high school. People wanted him to go on tours and make cash. Instead, he surprised everyone when he announced that he was going to attend Rutgers, New Brunswick, for a business degree.wsy to go Jake. And that doesn't make Neal Schonnless of an artist because he left school at 15. He only left to play for Santana. Why to go to both men!

    • @superblondeDotOrg
      @superblondeDotOrg 6 місяців тому

      @@grandpianist Musicians who are classically trained (whether university or conservatory) also do not comprehend the music they are playing, they are trained to play dots, they are not trained to understand the music, and they are never taught to write their own music. Young musicians should be made aware of who they look to for instruction, or they may end up in a situation such as Tina Guo's personally elaborated story, of how she became artistically desperate to break out of the strict mold of classical, because her instructors did not provide what she internally wanted as a creative artist. Every young musician needs to be aware of those huge pitfalls. otherwise they often continue even through graduate school music degrees and then have either an artistic breakdown or they give up artistic aspirations. Musicians on the jazz track are not taught to comprehend classical music and are not taught discipline in composing, instead they are taught solely to improvise using root-based chord theory, and musicians on the classical track are taught to only recite perfectly what was written centuries ago, yet never create for themselves.
      That is why artists have breakdowns of confidence: because they have not been taught foundational skills, not because they read comments online they interpret as being "bad". Artists with confidence in their art can disregard any else's opinion as irrelevant.
