Having a Walmart map book is a life saver, because it lists every one in North America so we set our next destination as a go too if needed, a great stress reliever !
@@storychasing I agree 110%, if we all could have had a crystal ball. Everyone including me complains about the high prices of a new campers. There's Born Frees, Scamps, Casida's, Air Streams just to name a few that are being sold 20 years later that at the time seemed over priced for more then then they sold for new just because the roof did not leak and destroy the trailer. Look on Craigslist there's trailers 10 years old being sold as scrap just because of roof leaks.

Love Kathy. Thank you both for this video. I've been camping for over 50 years solo female and my hubby of 51 years is not a camper. I just bought my first USED RV a 21 foot B+. It's going to be a new challenge for me for sure. I looked at a few Born Free B's but never was able to nail one. Living in rural MT has made it a big challenge in securing a sale. However when I wasn't looking one came along two weeks ago and a neighbor drove me the 10 hours one way to pick it up and of course back with me driving it back. An older B+. Though I tell people I will feel no more safer in an RV than I did in a tent and perhaps a wee less. I mean really I can't slit a wall and escape if need be. I have gal friends now saying they will camp with me but never in a tent. I did have girl friends who did on occasion camp with me in a tent. Including a 78 year old for 14 days. I turned my Mom into a tent camper in my college days in the 70's. I'm keeping my tents for now. Mind you like Kath I stay aware and alert and I feel I can protect myself if need be. And like Kath I do not share openly what those are. My Mini-Mo has a few blemishes to be taken care of. No accidents but her age and lack of some TLC over the years needs attention. She came with new tires, new microwave, new kitchen faucet etc. A wet bath I was hoping to nail one with the shower space but I also knew I would probably end up compromising and sure enough that's one of them. Love the quality Kathy's unit has. Happy she's such an enterprising and fearless lady. But to be fair to all those ladies I've run across over the years of all ages there are a lot of us out there camping in tents, RV's and in between. I was told last year while enjoying my favorite campsite that I was the 4th single lady that year by the camp host. Mind you never had a camp host before over the 20 years of camping there on and off. But Lizzy from AR was traveling to this neck of the woods in MT every summer in her then 3rd converted Van she said her son in CO would help her convert to a camper and she was in her 80's. She too favored that campsite. Lots of shade pretty private only one other campsite across a creek and no shared lane. A pretty new outhouse across the road and so made that easy to enjoy too. So here's to all the ladies who love to camp. Many of do have husbands and significant others who aren't into it. I sense my life is changing....and yes it's good to grow at any age. I've got a few cold months left to reupholstery and do work that isn't dependent on warmer temps. This was just one of those Gems to run across here on UA-cam today. Great job and happy camping everyone.

Cathy reminds me of her!! Sure do miss her, some days more than others…. Plus we were young mothers together, girls same grade, boys couple years difference but we did so much together, what I wouldn’t give to go back to my kids little n that time!!! Best times of my life, you just don’t know it when it’s happening n ur all haggered! Lol But, forward on n making more memories!!
I used to do this when I was single. Got a couple of men’s shoes for a few dollars at Goodwill resale store. It helps for when you have handymen or internet company male technicians come to the house.
Brilliant idea the roll bars. I well remember crossing the Nullabor in WA Australia, when a gust of wind completely lifted a caravan in front of us. It fell on its side and the whole thing collapsed like a flatpack.
Wow, This is Beautiful! ♥️ I love the wood color, light leather chairs- 4, and So much storage! And having a permanent bed is a plus! So much counter space, will have to look this rig up!

Loved this!! Beautiful RV and lovely Kathy! I do want to add my thoughts about #2 in the toilet ... gah ... alert ... more about toilet issues than you might want to know! Anyway, I have lived and travelled in my 33 foot Winnebago Adventurer ... 8 months plus full time as well as a lot of 3-4 month, and assorted travels over 16 years. So ... poop does not remain solid if there is plenty of water :) ... and if you routinely dump black and then gray, the gray cleans the hose. I have never had an issue with a smelly hose ... really! And actually, the gray water smells worse than the black. One thing I do, is I do not put tp or anything other than what exits my body into the tank. I have a flip lid waste can, but after adding a bidet attachment to my home toilet, I thought ... huh, I could use the toilet cleaning thing to have bidet in the motorhome ... wash, don't wipe and you will never go back. There ... much, much more than you wanted to know, probably.
Kathy is such a nice and capable lady. I do a lot of repairs and such myself as well so relate to that.:) Her rig is amazing, so well laid out, safe and just the right size! I wish her safe travels and lots of fun!!!

To me this is a really great set up for a person who is living by themselves. I could love this kind of living and she makes it sound right. May she stay safe and take care 👍😊❤
This is my favorite RV of all time. I love all the awesome features and the safety. I realize it's rare but hope to find one like it some day.
Hello 👋 I hope you’re safe over there? I hope this year brings happiness prosperity and love all over the world 🌎
I'm Engineer Christopher Johnson from New York and you where are you from if I may asked?
I agree it's so special.
When I was on the road I traveled with a dog. He was quite able to defend our small space.
What a cool rv! Kathy is lucky to have found it, and generous to let you give us a tour. Thank you!
Hello Mitzi..
How are you doing today?
Prepare yourself for the winter in the desert. It can get cold, most people think the opposite. You'll be surprised.
Very nice! Prettiest and most solid looking RV I have seen so far.
Wow! I love her RV!! Thank you so much for the tour and introducing us to this sweet lady! I so appreciate her opening her home on wheels to all of us! Safe travels to you both!
👍❤️🇺🇸💙🌺🌼🌸💐🌹
Hello Betty..
How are you doing today?
That is an awesome RV! I love how Kathy is so resourceful and positive! Well done, ladies!
Great rig, love her uncluttered lifestyle, looks like a home, would like to revisit after a year on the road, hope she checks back in to update us on her adventures. Kathy seems like a friend already. 🐕🦺🌻
I like her bravery that she doesn't allow fear to control her. And I really like the outdoor shower a lot!!!
I love her life. She seems so happy.
This is Wheel Estate at its finest! I would love to have something like this. Great video!
Beautiful God bless you be safe will be praying.
This is I think, one of the nicest mobile homes, campers I have ever seen. I love it. I need to look for one of these lol!!! Thanks for the tour!!
Glad you like it!
Google revealed Rv company went out of business in 2017. Maybe another company purchased?
@@wildstory2718 I'm ever hopeful that they will reopen BORN FREE! Top of the line RV!!
I love her & her rig! We think direction the same-she's turning left to go out west 👍 Great interview-thanks. 🙏✌🌎💞
Fantastic RV……wish they still made them! And Kathy is a treasure! Very interesting lady, and knowledgeable about her rig. Safe travels, Kathy!
Hello Kimberly
What a wonderful lady. I love her RV and could totally see myself living in one of these with my fur baby. I really love the lay out and the door at the back makes so much sense now. Love all of her storage and how she changed the couch to a permanent bed with yet more storage. Most of all I love the craft cabinet. Thank you Kathy for stalking Amber down and showing us around. I think I have truly found the RV that I want now. ☺♥

Same here!!! I have to research n study n over again but I did have a friend that when she had researched something, I knew I could take it to the bank n never look up anything myself n one of the few ppl I really trusted like that!!! Lol
But, forward on n making more memories!!
One of the best kitchens I have seen in a unit of this size.
What a magnificent RV! And what a lovely, gracious lady! So glad to see someone that is close to my age group having such an adventure! ❤️
Yes, this is something I have been wanting to do for awhile now. It's very encouraging. TY
One of the best tips I ever heard for a solo female is to carry a pair of large workman's boots and leave them outside the door at night
Smart
And heard when you stop off enter from the passenger side then slip over to drive

Wow really nice RV glad to see she’s enjoying herself.
Me too!
This lady is a ROCKSTAR!"
Kathy is awesome! She's an inspiration!
Hello 👋 Tina
Kathy, your home is perfect! I’m glad you spotted Amber so she could introduce you to the nomad community, a really great interview Amber, you asked a lot of great questions. 💜💟💜
Very nice and comfy!!!! Kathy seems like a nice warm person to just hang out with!!! I feel like I could talk to her all day!!! Safe traveling for her and her dog 🐶🙏🙏
Great tour! Amber you asked the right questions...great rig and great lady! I hope to cross paths with her some day. Thank you both for sharing!
I hope so too!
I was impressed by her set-up and fearless enough to travel alone. Safe travels!
I love the Born Free model! Just beautiful! I like how she took the couch out and put in the twin matress, good call!
Great tour of Kathy's RV. Why did I love her CB radio so much?!
Kennedy C LOL .... I know right!? I used to have one when I went to college. Those huge bag phones were just coming out then. That was 1989. My handle was "Red Racer" because I had a red Honda CRX with a major lead foot! lol
@@storychasing LOL! When I was about 14 my parents had a CB radio on one of their trucks and when we would go camping or on road trips, my Moniker was sunshine girl! That was so much fun! Miss those old days!
@@storychasing Amber, I think you need to include that story in a future video. My dad had a CB in his car when I was growing up. I would use it under the handle "Grape Ape" because I liked the cartoon show.
Kathy is awesome! Love her! Thank you for showing an independent woman who is not afraid! 🥰🥰
Wow, what a beautiful rig. I'm not sure I've seen one like this before. I can't imagine what this beauty sold for when new. This is a real tressure for her as she travels the USA. Great video! ♡
Thank you Amber for this video and the amazing questions that you asked Kathy! Kathy - Thank you for showing your lovely and cozy home and i wanted to Thank you for your beautiful spirit!
Been doing this for a long time. Kathy is perhaps the most articulate, knowledgeable, confident, realistic people I've ever seen.
Thank you!
This is really a great RV..quality that is not seen in today's industry. Thank you for sharing !
Hello Janet..
How are you doing today?
Loved those RV’s, wish they still made them.
Meeting people on the road is the coolest part of traveling! Lots of room in that rig! I use the Waze app for traffic information. Thanks for sharing!
Very cool!
Kathy, what a great RV you found! It will last for years more because it was built so well. We have been RVers for 10 years but I don't think I've ever seen one of these! Enjoy your trip in your Born Free!
I liked this very much! It’s amazing how people can live in man-made vehicles and have what they need to live! Very Cool !
Really enjoyed today's video & checking out Kathy's "Born Free" RV!
Glad you enjoyed it!
That was an awesome interview and tour, thanks to you both Amber and Kathy. I am just 4 months away from retirement and hope to also spend quite a bit of time on the road and my 2004 Born Free!
That’s so cool that you have the same one. Good luck in your adventure.

Hello Kimberly..
How are you doing?
Great video Amber! Thank you for the tour and interview. Lovely lady. Fabulous camper. Safe travels!
Thanks so much!
I love this woman. Very nice rig. Thank you amber for another great interview
So good to see you, Kathy! I really enjoy following your adventures. And yes, Kathy is VERY handy!!
One thing that would have been nice is to hear her "why" story of why she chose to do the RV life. Thanks for sharing.
Love when serendipity happens! ( I know what Amber will be looking for next 😉) Kathy is a doll thank you for sharing her and her rig with us!
You are so welcome and hahaha...I see what you did there. lol

Wow! Such a cool RV! I love all the finishes and like how some items can slide away for storage. Loads of storage. She is definitely one savvy lady.😊
Love the wood. The dash is gorgeous. The roll bars are a great idea. We have a 1995 Roadtrek and love it. Beautiful craftsmanship. Happy travels!
