My favourite is his unique cross court smash. Steep, fast and as to date, not many players can answer his dynamic cross court smash. And no one can emulate it. I’ve been following his game since 2004 all england. For me, he is the best player of all time. -joe, Kuala Lumpur
You're right my friend. I love to watch LIN DAN at that time and the audiences want to watch him all the time because there was so much power in his match. But there are not many videos on UA-cam about him at that time. What a pity! 😥🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
@@wilyethsalazar3243 yes, he is now 35 years old. Maybe he cant play professional tournaments for a long time. But his dedication for World Badminton is mighty and admirable. He is also mighty and admirable.😊😊😊😊
Well, 2011 Lin Dan won the fourth World Championships. Still in that year he took part in a lot of tournaments to accumulating points for the Olympic London but he didnt win many tournaments. Anyway i think 2011 Lin Dan was in really great form with super power in every match and that time was his peak of performance like you said, my friend. Just love it 😘😘😘.
@EZEKIEL You're right my friend. Im trying to make a video about Lin Dan's changing play style through time and i realize 2011-2012 is the time that he changed his style. In 2013 he went on hiatus for several months before he took his fifth World Championships title. After this tournament, his play tyle is completely different from the past. He decided to play in a safe way and tried to do good shuttle placement. By doing this i think he could have a longer career and conserve his body from injuries.
these legends cannot be made again. once in a life time. lindan the mighty champ in this generation ... great video .. i love making videos on him or appreciate people like who make videos on him.. thank you for the video .
@@iskandartandiono Thank you for your comment and i appreciate it . I love the analysis but i think you have to factor in that these 2 players have developed a style of playing against each other, since they push each other to the limits. Therefore it would also be best to include how Lin Dan plays against other opponents as well. But I agree with most things, perhaps maybe just the reasoning might be different: 2008: LD's prime, beast mode v everything 2012: LCW at his prime, LD fairing not too well in world ranking, but pushes himself to show again that he can (albeit barely) outpace his greatest rival 2016: Both players past their prime, indicated by their safe style of play, LCW fairs better this round (not by much) and is more consistent in their play over 2015-2016. Don't forget other players have also achieved their A game, look at CL. 2020: LD has stated he will be challenging himself again after seeing how LCW fought cancer, both players are motivating each other to enter the highlight stage once again. However, they are no longer the top titans anymore, and with the flurry of top contenders out there, it would be a hard road just qualifying, let alone entering the SF or F. LD has to outrank both CL and Shi Yuqi, while LCW has to rank up significantly to qualify.
Mentally Lindan takes more risk because he aims for winner shots. While other players like Lee Chong Wei and Momota aims for consistency to force errors from their oponents. Taufik and Axelsen also have that style like Lindan but their stamina is not as good for the long run in many tournaments!
The most lethal LD shot was his legendary attack, super quick-powerful overhead straight smash follow by his super fast movement to the net. You know, if he using this shot a lot in a game, that is mean he is in serious mode. And from what i observe, LD only uae that a lot if he face LCW.
A good collection. But here is some disagreement. LD is a conter-attack style player, he rarely takes risks(only good at making opportunities in his movement) and only grasp those that look sound safe, he spends much more time creating a smash-kill chance than he often ends a rally with an one-shot kill. He spends his energy only when he must, you could put it another way, that is to say, he is a quite "lazy" player. This is also why his could carry out such a long career in fierce Badminton sport. He is a phenomenon. We have to take this fact that after his retirement, this sport will fall darken to a big extend.
@@jlafunboys2003 oh yes bro, im so excited about that match and im really thinking about it. Hope that i have time to make a good analysis video for such a great match like that. Thank you so much for giving me the idea, bro.
I think one point should really be covered but you might not have coz of the number of points the video has to cover is footwork.. You briefly introduced how LD reads opponent to prepare for forehand smash, in my opinion this was possible because of his slightly unorthodox footwork. You can just rewatch the 2012 Olympic final parts (08 is a bit like that also) to see Lin Dan does his split step at all different forms, which is why he is able to adjust even when he makes wrong predictions. On top of that, by being'formless' in a way, he takes lesser steps, letting him to play more stamina efficient. But this takes a down turn in his career as he is getting older, he did lesser training, so he became slower due to a footwork heavily dependent on leg strength(noticeable by badminton standards), and so he is taking more shots in unfavorable or uncomfortable positions (losing nets more often), thus losing control of rallies. Theres tones of content already made on Lin Dan footwork, they will demonstrate it in much more than i can in a few words.
I’m a newbie badminton fan. So 2008 was his peak career? 2009-2012 he wasn’t dominating badminton world but LCW did? In conclusion, lin dan only dominates major event, but lcw ruled badminton world without winning any major events. Is it true?
he was dominating badminton world 2009-2012.Because he didn't win the olimpic before 2008 so he took world ranking seriously. After 2008 world ranking was not important for him . In chinese badminton team you have to get a good world ranking to prove yourself and get a good position for the olimpic .But when you have won the olimpic ,world ranking is not important anymore .

The tactical smashes really important for LIN DAN, and he did it really2 accurate. That is the secret to beat an opponent with great defense like LCW
