How to Import/Export/Backup Minecraft Worlds on Android (Updated Guide)!

- You can change the quality to the highest setting if not already done for you. Don't forget to subscribe!
If the world does not appear in Minecraft, the issue is because when the world is put in the folder, it's a double folder. Basically, go into your world folder and if there is a folder inside that world folder that has a similar name, then cut that folder out and paste into folder shown in video. If this still does not work, then it's probably because you're trying to import a world that only works on PC, Xbox, and Playstation which are NOT compatible with Android and iOS worlds. So ensure that the site you got the world from says "MCPE", "Pocket Edition", "PE", or "iOS & Android". Only iOS and Android worlds are interchangeable.
The new location Minecraft stores the worlds in is followed by the order below:
1. Internal Storage
2. Android
3. Data
4. com.mojang.minecraftpe
5. Files
6. Games
7. com.mojang
8. MinecraftWorlds

You probably wont read this but I just wanted to say thank you. I worked on a survival world for almost 4 years and I lost my world when I changed phones. I am currently pasting the file into the minecraftWorlds folder. It is going to take 2 more hours to paste. If this works, Thank you.❤

kind of funny how he completely missed the point where he said how someone can export the world that is saved in the application... which is what most of us want to know. He told us that its hidden deep in the files but how we can still access it... You know guys when you do not know how it works then just say it. Or do nothing, no video and so on because us who search for a solution will be misdirected because stuff like that video will pop up on search...

Thanks man! Ive been transferring worlds since 2018 for every time i switch phones. I was so confused why the "minecraftworlds" folder disappeared on the games folder. It turns out they switched to android. That was the missing piece to my puzzle, lol.

I used to play minecraft last year (2021) in my old mobile. I made so many things in my world, but i bought a new phone on the month of October 2021 and sold my old phone. I made a backup of my worlds, I saw a few videos on UA-cam for how to transfer minecraft worlds from one phone to another phone, but unfortunately those methods didn't work for me (maybe I wasn't following those methods properly).
Today, on 7th December 2022, I searched on UA-cam and saw this video. I can't express my feelings after seeing my old lovely Minecraft worlds in my new phone.

The only point I’d make is that when I went to copy the worlds to the Minecraft Worlds folder as the last part of the process this kept failing but when I just opened the world from the downloads folder minecraft installed it.

Hello! I was wondering if you selected a world file in the other phone by putting it in your SD card and then put that SD card to an another phone and then export it?

I didn't, I only saved/backed up the world I created on this phone to import back into this same phone. It should work though if you're transfers from another device.
So, what can I do if i want to dowload my world that was made on aplication not external ?

@@StarSunYT Because since the 1.17 came out i saw when i made my world even tho its external i could not see it in the games files i saw your video and i realized there was a new file name.
@@santipiano yep, they changed it because for many people when using a cleaning app, would mark that original folder as junk, thus deleting their world.

Thanks for the video! I'm trying to transfer my son's ~200 worlds from his old tablet to his new one. They are in the application (not external) umbrella/structure. How do I find them in the file structure, or extract them, or copy them to external? Since there are so many, finding a root folder would be best. I can set up Dropbox or Google Drive for his device for transfers as well. I will definitely use external on his new tablet!

If its over 200 or pass 10 world minecraft will lock it sorry there yet to be a root to extract them is impossible and also he has to start from scratch so sorry but the worlds are also the problem unused worlds have to be deleted for you to have more storage
@@janetmontanez1109 Actually I used a third party app and exported them one at a time. Then used Google Drive to sync them to his new device and he can now pick and choose what to import without a third party app. It was 4 months ago when I figured it out so I'm not sure the steps anymore!

Uh i have a question, so to import the Minecraft world u just simply need to tap on the "external or application" and choose the external ammiright? And then we could delete the Minecraft world and reinstall but still having the world right? No side effect?

This explains how to export external words, but not application worlds. Is it not possible to back up and application world? I want ti know because I'm trying to get the world file from application so i can turn it into an aternos server to play with my friends.

Both the explorer app and the add-on worked well and I successfully exported my worlds. When importing them back, "checking download" is the only problem but you can bypass it by going offline and back online

I feel I know the answer but I just wanted to make sure. Is there any way to make your world stay when you delete Minecraft and redownload it. I know when you uninstall Minecraft an option will pop up saying "Would you like to keep your data" But if I do that do I have to keep pushing that option or is it a one time thing when I delete Minecraft ?
You have to keep pressing that button to save a backup. I don't know exactly where it stores that save, but it is inaccessible due to the device saving it to the internal folders rather than external ones.

It is not letting me have an option to change a specific world's storage type. The selection button is just not there, but in my files, there is nothing beyond the com.mojang but an empty file

All these steps seem to work on my Android Phone, but when it comes to my kid's Fire tablet, the Application button is not there and doesn't allow you to continue with your steps. Any thoughts on that?
The Amazon tablets are a bit finicky when it comes to file access. I’m not too familiar with them.

When i delete my Minecraft the world disappear.. i deleted it coz im trying to download the new version and when im installing it its not letting me so i deleted my Minecraft so the new version gets download but when im gonna recover my world its GONE empty 😢
