- C5 Corvette Yellow Seat Belts from Safety Restore. I finally put yellow seat belts in my C5 Corvette. There's been a lot of videos of C8s with yellow seat belts lately and I had to find a way to get yellow seat belts in my C5 Corvette. Safety Restore is a company that will reweb your factory seat belts in any color you want. Of course I had to choose yellow seat belts for my C5 Corvette. You could also request a custom color, but I like the bright yellow. Once Safety Restore receives your seat belts, they turn them around in less than 24 hours which is great. I sent the factory C5 Corvette seat belts out on a Monday and received the new yellow seat belts on that same Friday. Now that's quick.
These yellow seat belts help modernize the C5 Corvette interior.

I probably should gave pulled the halo trim piece out so I didn't "force" the belt trim piece out, but I was a little lazy and it didn't seem like I was stressing that piece at all.
Yellow on black, great color combo. I always heard interior decoration could get expensive. lol. Loved your opening!
Yea it could get expensive. I don't want to get carried away with it. Just subtle improvements, but those will probably still be some money lol.

They have every color imaginable and it looks like custom colors are available too if they don't have what you're looking for. I believe you can also get samples sent to you

Yellow looks great man! Adding some yellow stitching to the seats will look good to! I was planning to get the seats redone in my 98 but installed some Corbeau Evolution X seats instead. Sometimes the small things make a big improvement!
You nailed it! I wish the Evo Xs came with yellow stitching bc that would be my move, but I'll just reskin these with yellow stitching when the time comes.

No increase in tickets... yet. The car runs great and I'm super happy with it. So far no urge to go procharger yet. I've been on the 1 glass of red wine a night for heart health diet lol.

Those belts look nice. How do you plan on keeping them yellow? Are they treated so the oils from your skin and hands will not absorb into them and discolor them? How about Scotch Guard?
I doubt they're treated, but you bring up a great point. I was thinking scotch guard as well. I think it's inevitable that they'll get dirty and discolored over time. Same goes for all the C8 guys that are getting yellow belts.
This was interesting in that you have two retractors per side. I only have one per side on the C6. I was wondering why Scott was NOT involved with this mod. Now I know why. You went yellow instead of red!😂 When you got your new seat belts back from Safety Restore, did they enclose a stack of actual samples for you? I think I saw that Justin did get a "stack" of them. When I called them asked for this sample they really didn't want to do it, but they did ask me what color I was thinking of. I told them red and they sent me samples of all their different reds and I received the samples in two days. Great upload Dave. Save the Wave🙋🏼♂️
Yea Scott is anti yellow. He treated my car like the coronavirus when I was there lol. I'm not sure why the 2 retractors, but it is what it is. I know some guys change their C5 belts to C6 belts, I just haven't looked into what's involved with that. I have a C4 buddy, which I'm sure you do too, so I'd be curious to wonder that as well.i did not receive samples, but I didn't ask either.
Thanks Dave. Maybe talk your C4 buddy to replacing his, or at leas tear it down to find out what it's makeup is. I'm sure there are some C4 owners that would appreciate it. Now maybe you need a tad more yellow in the interior. Maybe a yellow shifter boot, or ???

@@petercarey6883 lol I wouldn't be doing it. I would go to a shop to have it done. The guy with the C4 just had his seats redone and they came out amazing, so I may use the same shop when the time comes. I like doing projects myself, but this is better for the professionals lol.

Looks like your driver side seat is coming apart, common fault, I kept the black belts but reupholstered my seats in the black & yellow, kit from Interior Innovations, see pic on their site, same leather kit as some vette sellers offer, but at less than half the price.
Yea these seats are notorious for ripping at the same seam above the bolster. It's not THAT bad yet but new seat covers are definitely in my future. I'll have to check them out. I have an idea of how I want the interior to look and it'll be a progress just like the rest of the car has been. Thanks for the advice 👍

Seatbelt Planet, www.seatbeltplanet.com/p-35844-custom-colored-seat-belts.html. I'm sure their process is the same and they probably have the same color options, but I didn't look too much into them. Take a look and let me know how it goes.

I did that to show there's no difference between the sides. Follow the removal process and reverse to put them back in. Thanks for watching
