Hey man, don't beat yourself up on a degree you're not using. I did the exact same thing but spent a whole lot more than $30K on a degree that I'll probably never use again. I went to Penn State for 4 years and graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering. Worked in that field for a little over 4 years and just couldn't take it anymore. I even managed to get out of the office a few days a week, working with the survey dept. I just couldn't sit at a desk, staring at a computer every day. So, I'm in the excavation industry now, lol. I don't do much forestry mulching, but it's a direction I'm giving serious thought to. I may have to break down and buy a Fecon for my skid steer. I have one for my excavator, but as you said, production is much slower. It's great for cutting ditches and ponds and taking lower branches off trees to make it easier to mow, but the only thing I have for my skid steer is a brush hog. It works, but if you get into some bigger stuff, it's worthless.
This is nice, they have just gotten better over the years. The first one I used was on a Cat front end loader back in 05. You could hit a tree like excavator was doing at the start and being it to the ground. Very nice thanks for sharing this. 👍 👍
You're awesome!! I like the 300 quite a bit. A few weeks back I saw a gallotrax 800 in Oregon. Basically its a heavy dozer modded with a front unit doing 30" knives. They plowed thru a heavy forest at 5mph not slowing down, it clears an acre of forest in an hour, also costs 8 million!
We do logging and pulpwood here in Alabama. After a clear cut, some landowners will clean up the land with a bulldozer and spend a lot of time burning brush and hauling off stumps. This mulching idea seems like a no brainer to me.
Looks like the old pencil mill, from the county I'm from born and raised. Too bad I didn't catch up on your videos and hear about it would have made it out there. It looks like you had a good time with some real impressive machines.
diesel wrencher was that your specialty? Your a good hand Sam....See you next time around......back to work.. Have a great Sunday ! oh, ya.....WE MADE IT BOYS!
Awesome video man 😎👌 I’d get an ASV with a fae head on it. That would be a beast. The ASV has a cummins, the highest clearance than an other machine, and the have the posi track system on it so I cat run on soft ground as well as track faster. ASV makes the posi track for cat to 👍
Foster Farms they have the smallest cabs and the worst visibility. Was pretty bummed with that. The tl12 turned more heads at the demo. Demo several machines before buying. I almost bought an Asv and the cab really thru me
Compared to your PT175 does the PT300 seem like running a school bus? Do you think it's to clumsy to use thinning a woods? Also about how many hours do you think the teeth last? Are knives available, and do you know the price for carbide, and knives ? Thanks for the info. Don
$500,000 machine? 🤣. Try a $75,000,000 machine. I was a Marine fighter pilot. I know the feeling you are experiencing. Glad to see that you didn't wreck it.😃
I was working at a guys place today that has a couple of these 300 class and he had a 400 class BRON mulched in his shop getting serviced Apparently they just put a GPS map and drive straight thru the Bush making oil pipeline cutlines just keep driving and mulching lol
So I had about 1hr on flat ground mowed 60ft about 6months ago, this week 50 to 60% grades. The company said 1hr 6months ago is good enough training on the pt 300.
After running the 175 and the 300 which would be your choice? How much wider is the 300? I'm just wondering if it wouldn't be to clumsy for some work? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks! Don
Depends on the size of jobs you plan on getting. 175 is bout all you want on residential. But if you want to knock out big acreage 300 be the machine for it. And it’s easy on its feet not slow or clumsy

That is a beast! $500K, Self Loader and trailer to move it $$$$$😳. Thanks for sharing👍👍👍

Sweet ride, they are also incredibly quiet in the cab. You can listen to music, podcasts all day long.
Love the look of the window frame on this Prime Tech 😬
Great video Sam 😉 Hell yeah! This machine is a monster 😈💪
You will never be "Stumped" with that machine.
Keep up your hard work! And in making these awesome vids!!👍👍

Must b nice to play with those big boy toys🚜 We made it boys
Lone Wolf 🙌🏻
Do you guys have the wide track on that or the standard track? A detailed episode of your guys equipment and specs would be awesome!!
You can win wars with that pt300 👊
Do all large scale operations have these or would someone be able to niche subcontract this out? How do you get contracts for this?

Foster Farms have you sat in one yet?
V-BELT and SON not the new style no. I wanna demo one. Done lots of research into the new ones.

Gregory Underwood original intent maybe...
Pretty cool they tossed you the keys to half a mil lol
hella cool! stoked ha
So when’s my turn to run the pt300?
I saw another video of an identical machine but claiming 1.000 hp (?)
After running the 175 and the 300 which would be your choice? How much wider is the 300? I'm just wondering if it wouldn't be to clumsy for some work? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks! Don

You think that price is bad you should see it in green with yellow wheels which you're LUCKY you don't have. So yes things could be worse!!
Didn’t say they couldn’t be worse but if your job requires you to spend more money oh well
Was there anything different on Saturday?
I only went friday
In europe it cost 250k 300k €
Have you try a pto forestry mulcher ?
I haven't yet. heard mixed feelings on the pto
How much does it weigh 🤔
The PT 175 and the pt 300 what engines are in them
John Mayfield 175 has a 4btcummins in it. 300 has a cat engine
@@VBELTandSON that's good
Please tell me. What’s a better machine. This or a Cat 3 or 4 with the Mulcher head and power pack?
This machine
Do u have an Instagram or anything like that

You said half million for the 300 but what's the actual price.
