Crystal he actually went on the H3H3 podcast and talked a lot about before he meets a guest he spends the next however long before the interview researching everything himself. He’s REALLY into what he does and is really incredible about being able to get all of the info he gets.

Padma is so graceful and poised. You can tell she decided NOT to say anything bad about any of the hot sauces. But when she tried Da Bomb, you can see she hated it. Not just because it was hot, but because it just sucks. So she had nothing to say about it.
Da Bomb was created to a be a "prank sauce". It's supposed to taste like shit, and everyone knows it. You don't call something "da bomb" with a comically depicted warhead on the front and have a goal of creating a "tasty" sauce.

You know, respectable journalism is a difficult thing to accomplish. The most common hang-up is the host not researching their guest and knowing them. That's not the case with these guys. Sean always has some really deeply-dug info and it's really cool. It's very respectful to the guest. This series rocks.
Inside the Actor's Studio is good like that, too. The sheer number of times a guest will say, "How the hell did you know that?" cracks me up.

Eating a corner of a Paqui chip won't have the exact same effect as eating the whole chip. Eating 1 wing won't be the same as eating 10 wings of the same spiciness. Or eating 1 death nut versus an entire tube. There is a cumulative effect, particularly with capsaicin extract. The half life of the spiciness will be affected by the amount you eat...

The last wing was amazing to watch, from Padma's gasp at the heat to Sean's out-of-nowhere animal testicles question to her amazing laughter at the question itself. Might be my favorite part of any Hot Ones show ever.

I don't know about that. Usually, show like these have some kind of researchers who will look up every interesting information about the subjects and guests. The host only needs to memorize those information and be creative.
I'm not saying that Sean isn't great, he's fantastic, but we gotta give credit where its due.
All the best interviewers do this, it's necessary for a good interview. It's such a bummer to watch an interview where the interviewer asks the same questions as everyone else. Thankfully people like Sean are around to remind us how it's done right. :)

Sean Evans, my guy. Your ability to connect with every guest that I've seen on your show (only 10 episodes in tho), is an incredible talent and it's very obvious you take the time to do meaningful research into every person in a way that makes them relax, feel candid with you, and open up. It's obvious you take pride in your work and it's a delight to see such a competent host.

Da bomb is just stupid and shouldn't really be in the line up, it is sub 200k scoville, but it's an extract, so it tastes awful and hits you harder than a strong scotch bonnet would

We indians grow up eating raw chillis/peppers as a taste enhancer during meals.. this is childs play. Also indian chilli's are hotter than in the west. Infact the hottest natural (not made in a lab) pepper in the world, the BHOOT JHOLOKIYA (Ghost pepper) is indigenous to india

Watching Sean pretend that he isn't melting under Padma's spell is probably the cutest thing I've seen on Hot Ones
What I appreciate about Hot Ones and why I've never unsubscribed is the level to which Sean asks his questions. He's in-depth as fuck which is exciting to watch as you see his guests struggling with the spicy wings. On some level, with each guest, you can see his excitement that they're on there. It feels like he genuinely wants to know what their answers are and that's refreshing compared to other interviewers who just ask generic questions over and over again. This set up is a bit of a gimmick, but it's so refreshingly done every time you never get bored.
To date, the most gracious guest to be on 😊💛🧡
