Just cooked it with beef, just delicious... I really like you do not "water down" the original receipe beforehand by using only (in europe) commonly used spices. People who cook such stuff are possibly well equipped. I missed only the cashmiri red peppers but they are mainly used for colour... Making the garam marsala freshly is better for me because all ground spices will not retain taste very long. No problem if you use it up daily in India.... If you use yoghurt to marinade the meat, just rinse and dry the meat before frying, else it is hard to fry it properly. I always wonder what ammound of sice goes into such dishes - and it does not taste strongly for one of them...
My husband is Gujarati, and I made this dish for him last night. I'm always trying to learn how to cook Indian food better, since I have Indian family. He said this was one of my best dishes yet! Thank you!
Great clip, Bumbi, not forgetting any details on how to make this very good dish. With age I have moved away from very spicy Vindaloo, Madras and Saoji preps etc. I make this with lamb, mutton or goat and youghurt, sometimes adding some coconut milk or grated coconut and even some dried raisins or fruits, (Seychelles style). Preferably meat with bones and cook very slow for hours. Yes, the gravy should become thick. Keep the clips coming Bumbi, I watch them all and always learn something new. P.S. had a farm for 20 years with many sheep and goats etc. Made a lot of curries :-)
OMG - how have I only just found this channel???? I found it last night and have already watched, and bookmarked in my 'Recipes to cook' folder around 15 recipes.... I absolutely love the authenticity, the variety and, probably most of all, the amount of detail you provide - can I come and be your kitchen slave and learn from you please
Just discovered your Channel. I’m so delighted to watch your clear videos, with great narration, and full of your cooking tips. There’s a lot of authentic curry channels on UA-cam, but not in English. So appreciate your time taken for me to learn and improve my kitchen skills for my family to enjoy. Thank you.
There is a lot of nonsense & clueless cooking happening on UA-cam, this stands out in the positive sense; technically all of this makes sense, the flavors are well balanced, not overcooking the onions and allowing them to caramalize slowly, the final addition of spices towards the end, everything here is right. Ok one point since I am naturally pedantic; I don't think black cardamom is optional, its too distinctive (I also get pretty upset when I am served chole without it). This is mouthwatering and I will be cooking it at home very very soon. Many thanks for sharing, you have a new follower.
Just made it for my housemates, OMG that was so nice. I love cooking along to the video too, can see how its supposed to look at every step. Its like having an Indian Aunty showing you how to cook in your kitchen with you, the best way to learn! x
This is a fabulous recipe/video & I was able to make this exactly like you showed…..THE BEST lamb korma I have ever had in my life. I can’t thank you enough for your videos Bumbi as you explain everything so well & the result was scrumptious.
Awww!! Thanks to your mom for trying this recipe but all the credit goes to her as she has put in all that effort into making it taste delicious. Thanks for your feedback.
Your recipes are so delicious looking and I love the way you explain it simply and effectively. I will definitely be trying this recipe soon! All the best from Norway.
Great video Bumbi! I’m making this dish for dinner this evening. Absolutely delicious 😋 Can’t wait to try other dishes from your library. Your instructions are totally simple and effective. 😋😋😋
Madam, God bless you for this thoroughly explained, authentic recipe. We will cook it and post an update. Until then, please take good care of yourself. Salutations from France!
A well-presented recipe, a step-by-step explanation simple and detailed, guarantees a successful result, which I will try in a few days. Thank you indeed!!
I came across your UA-cam channel. I wanted to make an authentic Indian curry and gave it a try this evening. You gave thorough instructions and I was able to follow the recipe and my curry dish came out amazing. This will be my go to chicken Indian curry dish. I’m gonna try beef and lamb next time.

Wonderful video! I could (almost!) smell the food simmering in your video! Korma is my favourite 'curry' and although people tell me it is bland and boring, I don't mind: I am bland and boring too! (Actually PROPER kormas are NOT bland or boring of course.) Your commentary is really nice - helpful and witty too! (I'm helpful and witty too!) I will buy the necessary spices very soon and make it exactly as you suggest but without the pressure-cooker. (I saw one explode!) I will add a few roasted and flaked almonds on top of the finished presentation - that's MY contribution to make it 101% perfect. Thanks.
Nearing lunchtime here in good old Ireland and am salivating watching this. Love lamb Indian style dishes, but unfortunately, my wifey and others in the house don't. Shame on them, as we have great lamb in Ireland, so looks like when I cook this, and I will, they can all starve and watch me enjoy every morsel. Thanks Bumbi. This is a wonderful recipe.
I live in Canada and most people here don’t eat lamb but it’s my daughter’s favorite Indian lamb curry so I cook from time to time when she visits me , those who don’t like lamb recipes missing out something delicious in life 😀 In Ireland I had the Irish lamb stew yummmy
