The little that I've learnt about stoicism I've learnt from Mr Holiday. I try to be stoic in all that I do now and my life is jam packed. Not hectic but fuller somehow. I rarely get angry and when I do I can talk myself back into focus. I'm a different person now. A better version of me. I'm at peace with myself at last. So thank you very much for making stoicism easier to understand Mr Holiday.

Ryan helps me to Give 1000% to Everything I do. And just do 3 business related tasks each day, instead of 10 mediocre bullshit tasks that are not important. He helps me ask myself every task, is this Absolutely essential, is this what I want to do, and following the voice within and having the courage to follow through with it.
Now I don’t care about results I just know they’ll be there… but that’s not important it’s all about did I do what I thought was best for me and the company, and the people we serve.. everything else is extra.

When I was a young lad and was playing video games, I loved the challenge. That is amor fati to me, life would be very boring if the game I was was just collecting coins. I want to fight the dragon, discover passages, save the princess and conquer the game. So when a dragon comes out spraying fire, I can't cry about that. The same with life, it happens, get excited about that broken toilet, plants that need trimmed, or even laundry. Conquer each day, each situation.

I agree with the speech about everyone's gonna die but 'mortality rate' while it can have meanings depending on who uses it, in medical research it commonly means the chance that a person will die before the average life expectancy. This is a tangent but when people die is not big on their list of reasons to eat better, and that is obvious, but they can live a much healthier, more pain free eating a strict diet. I believe the stoic philosophy may encourage eating well to live better.
I feel a pretty true stoic experience of enjoying a change for the better is eating healthy foods one has found to be extremely tasty. When eating very healthy many foods are off limits because they are unhealthy, but the stoic can find the joy and find spices and food combinations that are phenomenal. They can choose food items they never tried before that end up being the foods they enjoy the most.
One thing many people will learn is tastes are acclimated. When many have come to this country they have tasted our food and thought it was way too oily, salty, rich. They were acclimated to their healthier diet and now are acclimated to our less healthy diet.

This was the GIANT turning point for Michael Jordan. He was the best player in the world, and someone had to sit him down and explain his ego is keeping from improving his team mates and keeping him from championships. When he embraced it, the championships started to manifest.
The main reason I prefer Michael Jordan over Labron James is simple. Michael Jordan continued to learn and increased his humility and classy demeanor as he matured as a champion player.
