When your hunting a trashy or iron ridden location the key to target separation is iron discrimination. Cut those trash signals out, use a small high frequency coil to achieve the best possible separation
Exactly! Means 50% chance of getting just an iron grunt, thus 50% chance of missing the hit. If it just gave a scratchy crappy high low down the barrel, you would at least think...hmmm... let me investigate that and 360 the target.

Does your ace machine work properly my iron audio button does not function properly neither does the pin pointer button also it’s hard to turn on and off and I also broke the arm cuff. Good luck. The Apex is very designed ,love how thin the panel is. The tones are horrific though sounds like an old pinball machine. BADonk kadonk
What setting would I use if I SPECIFICALLY wanted to find iron for survey pins? Does it 'grunt' or does it 'beep' if iron is the desired target?
You'll get a LOW tone followed by a grunt.

It needed to be waterproof from the beginning. I’ll stick with the ATMax
