    First haiku nature example
    I venture outside
to walk in the frigid air
    waving grass applauds
    Second nature haiku example
    the cold wind searches
finding the only open gap -
    my frozen earlobe
The third example of haiku about nature
    the dying pine tree
in a row of healthy ones
    is loved by the birds

I love haiku - it activates and excites subconscious whisperings

Love them. The strangest thing. I was just recently thinking about writing some Haikus myself (I've never written any before) and I came across your channel! Weird! My desire to write was prompted by the beauty of Millcreek Canyon, Utah where I hike. The simplicity of the beauty deserves a simple, yet poignant poem And....years ago, I saw the movie Hunt for the Wilderpeople. That little kid could write a mean haiku. I've always wanted to follow his lead. I hope you share more of your poetry. And artwork, too, of course.

Thanks so much, Shauna! Great movie, I love Ricky's haikus. Writing haikus while out walking is one of my favorite things to do. There never seems to be a lack of inspiration. Here's a book that I go back to regularly for inspiration as well. I checked it out several times at the library and ended up buying a copy. These haikus seem so simple, yet amazingly descriptive. amzn.to/49H0MZE

I love haiku! We learned it in school (6th or 7th grade) a long time gone now. I've loved it ever since. Thank you!

The Haike poem is fantastic but i think this is not a haiku because the kaiku have 5,7,5 syllables 💜💜💜❤️❤️

Thanks, Marclyier! Wow, you are absolutely correct. The middle line on the 2nd poem has 8 syllables. In the final version I replaced "only" with "one", but clearly didn't use the correct line on this. Thanks for catching that! 🙂
