@@chrisloudart but seriously Ty! But I would love to learn more from you on completions. I didn’t realize how hard headed I was - but I am still not playing by that rule (of compistion and leading the eye around ) like I need to. This video was excellent on the L
Thanks, Kelly! I don't always play by rules of composition either, but the more you learn about them, the more you'll find yourself intuitively using them. I'll find one that I wasn't familiar with and then go back through some of my old paintings to see if any inadvertently use that composition. I can always find some.
@@chrisloudart Yes you are right about that, however, I do spot it frequently and wonder if it’s rather intuitive? I know it comes natural in much of my work.
I like this type of painting, and, particularly, using acrylic skins. I used to do acrylic pouring on canvas, and I have plenty of skins stored. Cannot wait to use them, and not only for jewelry, but in acrylic abstract paintings. Thanks for the videos, you inspire us to create.
As always you catch me off guard, Chris, and at 3.44 i thought this was going to become a seascape... but the robust trees and the skins were great. As always, inspiring😊😊😊
So enjoyable to watch this today! I was seeing the back of a girl’s head in the center where you put the skins and you put the tree trunks on top of her. I found her quite enchanting but you redeemed yourself with the trees. 😊 I have put a few skins on some of my paintings thanks to you sharing this technique. Have a great week Chris!
Hey Sherri! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! It's amazing how art can reveal different images-I love that you saw the back of a girl’s head there. I'm almost positive I see what you're referring to.😊 That's fantastic you're using skins in your own paintings-aren't they fun? Have a wonderful weekend!
@@chrisloudart thx you Cause I like your idea of the spiral bound notebook. I saw a cold press, 140lb I think I’ll get. I’m still trying to work thru the ability to paint over what I like…lol. But, watching your process over and over has helped me loosen up for sure. Thank you again. Love your videos.
I have never taken art class. What I have painted comes from my Mom genes. Today I learned about L composition. How many type of composition is there in arts? Or do you think I should look up in Google? I like a lot your challenge of two or three colors plus white and black
Hey Nilda! Sounds like we've had a similar path to art. I had an intro to drawing class back in the late 80's but that was the extent of my classes. My mom painted some as well. There are many types of compositions and I feel like I am continually finding new ones that I haven't heard of before. If you Google painting compositions, you'll find a whole world of them. With that said, there are probably 10 or so that are more commonly used.
I like the look of the L composition. I'll definitely give it a try.
Thanks so much!
Fascinating and very inspirational
Thanks so much, Colleen!
This is lovely!
@@shanfazelbhoy9491 Thanks so much, Shan!
I really like it! Thank you for the video, I'm going to pop on over and check out the artist you talked about. Cheers!
Thanks, Howling! Please do!
Thank you for the guidance on the L composition! Yes for more videos on that subject! All three are great works :)
Ty for the lesson
Hey Kelly! Thank you so much! BTW-I love all of the art that you've been posting on Instagram! Amazing!!!

Haha, I've seen your work and believe me-it's really good! You're very talented!

I’m drawn to the orange and yellow section so much! Yes to compositions or anything else that you do. 🎨
Thanks, Rebecca! I'll be sure to add more composition videos to my line-up.😊
L composition is great to talk about Chris!
Hey, Susie! I agree-its one of those that seems obvious, but I don't think many people know of it.
@@chrisloudart Yes you are right about that, however, I do spot it frequently and wonder if it’s rather intuitive? I know it comes natural in much of my work.
I think you are probably right. I know I went back and looked at old paintings of mine and found many, almost none of which were intentional.
I love the “pace” of your videos (ADHD) here!
Thanks, Katy! I'm right there with you!
As a beginner, this is so helpful! I’m learning quite a bit from your videos. Please do some more of these composition techniques!
I'm so glad to hear that, Jill! Will do.😊

Thanks, Emmanuel! Got to keep things interesting, right? At 3:44, I'm not sure even I knew where it was headed!😂 So glad you found it inspiring.
Yes. More composition videos
Will do, thanks Katy!
Yes yes please more explanations om composition besides the ‘ L’ some more please ‘O’ ‘S’ AND SO ON
Been looking for this information everywere! Especially regarding abstract works, please more like this
Hey Joanna! I will plan on doing some more videos like this 👍😊
Will do. It's funny how many compositions are alphabet related.
Love this. Ages ago you introduced me to acrylic skins and now I have another s tring to my bow. Thank you Chris❤
Thanks so much, Kari! I'm so glad you like using acrylic skins.😊
Wieder mal toll! Bei 4:40 sah ich ein U-Boot auftauchen, aus dem dann Bäume wurden😊
Danke, Barbara! Das U-Boot war mir vorher nicht aufgefallen, aber jetzt kann ich es sehen.😊
Great work Chris, thanks. I've seen something similar using pages from National Geographic rather than acrylic skins.
Thanks, D G! I've seen similar styles as well using magazines and newsprint. Very cool!

Ur working towards a professorship ... bravo. Ann 😊
Thanks so much, Ann! Professor Loud does have a nice ring to it. 😂
Love these! Do you varnish your paintings? I would love to see a video on that.
Thanks, Nicole! I do varnish most of my paintings with at least a light coat. I'll add that to my video list. Thanks for the suggestion!
Chris,
What size spiral notebook are you using here?
Thx

Hey Steve! I'm using 9"x12" 98lb (160gsm) mixed media paper.
