Martin, your videos have become a Tuesday tradition for me and a highlight of an otherwise insignificant day of the week. PLEASE DON'T STOP after you're done with the challenge!!!
Ditto to everyone else. Repeat in random order with tweaks based on trial 1. I learn so much and am inspired to brew and improve by these vids. Plus, they're fun to watch!
So sad this is coming to an end. Have been looking forward to these videos every week after my initial binging of the first 50 or so episodes. I am SUPER impressed by your stamina and perseverence. AND it looks like you have been having brewing all of these beers as well. Cheers from Norway.
This is getting tense. Nearly at the end! I've loved all the brews so far and am really glad that you and Lauren take several for the team so we can avoid some of the "very interesting" beers. My money's on New England IPA for the final beer even though I'd rather see some of the others. Also looking forward to seeing how your Lambics turned out. As others have said, I really hope we continue to see more brewing videos once the challenge is over.
Ill add my vote to a great series. I wait with anticipation each week for your video I seriously hope you will be carrying on with something beyond the 99 . I'm a little over 6 months into all grain brewing and you videos have been a god send. If you do stop at 99 ill be satisfied, job well done. If you continue on past 99 ill be grateful for your continuing insight into brewing beer at home. Thank you whatever you decide. Cheers from Australia!
Very cool you hooked up with Brewing America. They just came on board with the Brewtubers Homebrew Club as an official sponsor. Super folks. Thanks for these videos. Been awesome to watch
You made that NEIPA in the middle of the darks so this is number 99. Congrats. Also how can you make a Burton ale without talking about water chemistry
If you’re looking for ideas to continue the channel, may I suggest a series of clone recipes? BYO magazine has their big book of clone recipes. There is also the internet of course...
Spectacular work Martin! Your videos have inspired me to pick up brewing and the tips and tricks that you sprinkle throughout the clips are really useful to a novice like myself. I am looking forward to the last one in this series and to what comes next, cheers!
I’ve really enjoyed watching the progress and development of your brew space, video editing and the interesting little info sessions between the brewday and tasting footage. I wish I had the space to devote to my brew days but alas that’s a little way off yet! I’d echo what others have said and clone recipes might be fun but we all know it’s had to nail exactly commercial brews. Still it’s a nice spin on the theme if you can be motivated. You may enjoy a break after 2 years of weekly brewing 🙂
Have thoroughly enjoyed watching you Martin. You are a natural on camera and you have created a wonderful resource for brewers. I do hope you are enjoying producing your content and will continue. Question if I may, why don’t you use a refractometer for pre-fermentation gravity readings?
So you've " gone for a Burton ", quite strong for a session but sounds filling. Nice and easy brew look forward to getting this brew on. I can see your fondness for ales each time you brew one. All of them simple classics.
I have a homebrewed burton ale (trying to age it a bit, but it's too tasty) and I just love it, it's really similar in character to the beer (can't recall the name) I had in my first ever pub experience, can't remember the name of the beer nor the pub, but I do remember the feeling of having a good pint of cask in a warm welcoming pub
Awesomeness! Glad the mash Hydrometer works better for you and thanks for the shout out. Used your Belgian Tripel recipe this past weekend. Can’t wait to try it! How long do you ferment and do you use a secondary?
Hard to believe this series is almost over. Question for you regarding the Clawhammer system, what is the smallest size batch you can do in there? I’m thinking about upgrading and I’m leaning towards this system.
I might need some advice. Last Sunday I brewed a trippel, but the water lock isn't doing anything, even though the inside of the bucket smells like beer including that kinda burning in the nose(just opened it to take a quick look) do I have to repitch the yeast or is my bucket just broken/leaking
Caught on to your channel a few weeks ago. I plan on watching all 99 brewdays lol. I'm actually brewing your saison recipe this weekend. Did you design all these recipes or find them somewhere? Or a mixture between the two? Cheers 🍻. I'd take this challenge on if I had the time haha
I guess the question next week will be, after the 99 has been completed and you're back to brewing what you want for yourself... what's gonna be first? Anything from the Challenge that may become a regular on your taps?
98! So the big question is... What is the next challenge? (Ps. please don't stop producing content your work is fantastic, there are lots of brew channels but only one Martin Keen)
Containers from Dollar Tree for $1 each!! Haha I use the same ones. And the Vittles Vault 60 and the bucket tops. Looks like I’m looking into my own basement brewery!
Martin, sincerest thanks. 99th... As long as it's not another Neipa, I'd love to see Catharina Souer (I'm itching to try Philly Sour) or a NZ Pilz. Regardless, I will watch and enjoy like all of us who've watched every Tuesday.
But...but what about after next week!? What am I supposed to watch on Tuesday afternoons?! Tell me you'll still be making the best homebrew videos on UA-cam!?
Please please please. Brew a CATHARINA SOUR. The only brazilian style in bjcp!! It was created here at my state SANTA CATARINA. The good news is that you do not need a kettle sour anymore. There is an yeast that made our life easier. PHILLY SOUR from lallemand. If you want more info just tell me.
Martin, your videos have become a Tuesday tradition for me and a highlight of an otherwise insignificant day of the week. PLEASE DON'T STOP after you're done with the challenge!!!
Thank you!
What the others have said, this has become a weekly fix, do it again :P

Thank you! 50 episode binge.. oh boy. You deserve a medal.
Now that this series is close to an end, it would nice to have a new series with experimental recipes not following the BJCP guidelines

Thanks so much! Great to hear you’ve picked up the hobby.
Hate to see the Challenge come to an end! Can't wait to see what you bring us next Martin!
Martin you really built a video library for homebrewery. Huge thanks for it! Excited about next one! Hope for Catarina...
Thanks 😊
Very cool you hooked up with Brewing America. They just came on board with the Brewtubers Homebrew Club as an official sponsor. Super folks. Thanks for these videos. Been awesome to watch
Nice. This was a random Amazon purchase for me.
I really hope you brew the NZ Pils next! I just brewed a batch and it is great. I’d really like to see how you brew it and compare recipes.
You made that NEIPA in the middle of the darks so this is number 99. Congrats. Also how can you make a Burton ale without talking about water chemistry

Not surprised you went for an English Ale as one of your two choices! Good choice :)
Haha indeed.

You know Martin, there are 18+ more specialty beers in the BJCP style guidelines that might keep you (and us) busy for another 5 months…
There are?
@@TheHomebrewChallenge i just checked. and im sorry mr keen mr graves is indeed correct. you are going to have to include the new categories
You should keep going! I enjoy watching your videos
Thanks!

Thank you. I’ve never tried a refractometer, no real reason why.
Killer video braj!
So you've " gone for a Burton ", quite strong for a session but sounds filling.

Was pleasantly surprised with this one, we did enjoy it.

Can’t beat a good pint on cask.
Awesomeness! Glad the mash Hydrometer works better for you and thanks for the shout out. Used your Belgian Tripel recipe this past weekend. Can’t wait to try it! How long do you ferment and do you use a secondary?
That was a great tip. No secondary for the Tripel. Couple of weeks in the fermenter them condition in the keg for me. Hope you enjoy that one.
Please continue, maybe with the Brewers Association 2021 chapter on Hybrid/Mixed Lagers or Ale?
Hard to believe this series is almost over. Question for you regarding the Clawhammer system, what is the smallest size batch you can do in there? I’m thinking about upgrading and I’m leaning towards this system.
2.5 gallons is the smallest I’ve made. Don’t think you can go much below that without exposing the heating element.
Please brew something that you haven’t had before, for example beer with rye fermented malt. Thank you for your hard work. I really like your channel.
I might need some advice. Last Sunday I brewed a trippel, but the water lock isn't doing anything, even though the inside of the bucket smells like beer including that kinda burning in the nose(just opened it to take a quick look) do I have to repitch the yeast or is my bucket just broken/leaking
Sounds like almost certainly a leak. Give it a while then take a gravity reading to confirm.
Hi. Just wondering how you created the burton water profile. 600 caso4 for example.

I hope you'll keep going (maybe once a fortnight?) making variations on the classics!
98! So the big question is... What is the next challenge?

Really appreciate that.
I would like to suggest you do n.o100 to finish off on your own style and taste. aka your own receipt
Guys I'm calling it, beer 99 is going to be a new zealand Catharina sour NEIPL
Nailed it!
I have a feeling this beer is second "least favorite" lol @12:34 😂
Containers from Dollar Tree for $1 each!! Haha I use the same ones. And the Vittles Vault 60 and the bucket tops. Looks like I’m looking into my own basement brewery!
Haha yeah $1 well spent.
Try the Catharina Sour, you won't regret!
We need a new challenge for you asap!
Will beer 100 be rauchbier mk. 2?
😱
Martin, sincerest thanks. 99th... As long as it's not another Neipa, I'd love to see Catharina Souer (I'm itching to try Philly Sour) or a NZ Pilz. Regardless, I will watch and enjoy like all of us who've watched every Tuesday.
Thanks!
How long does an average brew day take you? I'm sure you have streamlined your process since the beginning.
Usually 3.5 hours from adding water to finishing cleanup.
One more Martin!
If the temperature is the issue, why not use a refractometer? Much simpler to use and I haven't had issues with mine.
What's the plan after your done with the last one
But...but what about after next week!? What am I supposed to watch on Tuesday afternoons?! Tell me you'll still be making the best homebrew videos on UA-cam!?
What would Cornish Ipa be closest to? For example Proper job brand.
What should I do after next week!?🤦♂️
Has to be the New Zealand Pils !!!!!
what book do you use for the beer styles
I’m just using a hard copy of the BJCP Guidelines.
Bummed the end is so close. Maybe keep doing videos of personal favorites? Tweeks to recipes?
Martin; what kind of hoses do you use?
Looking forward to the NZ Pils next week ?
🤔
Do you use a Brewing software If so which one?
BeerSmith.
Could this sort of brew work as a sub 3% version?
Yeah kinda a hoppy version of an English bitter.
I really hope the New England IPA is #100...and that I get to taste it 🍺
I might have missed it, did you "Burtonise" your water?
Inviting you to Midsummer Brewing in Westfield, NC
Just looked this up what a cool setup.
How did the whisk not get classed as ‘essential’? That thing is epic 😍 We want HBC99 Whisks 🙌🏻
🤣
Catharina Souer. Please! 🍻 From Frankfurt Germany 🖖
Agree with you. The only braZilian style created here at my state SANTA CATARINA. It is not from germany. Maybe you are
That does look like an interesting style.
@@TheHomebrewChallenge it is more fruity and less sour than a berliner weisse.
You need to wear a tux or suit for the last beer. Cheers.
Ha already did the tux thing with the Tripel IPA Clawhammer video. Once was enough 😆
Invent your own specialty style or 2, I'm sure you have ideas of things you liked and what may work well together.
You might have done better to pitch at 19c and ramp up to 21c over 4 days.
nz pils

Glycol Chiller, qu'est-ce que c'est? Fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-far better
You should try to test to become bjcp beer judge. Seems you learned more than most. Lol
That would be fun to try.
@@TheHomebrewChallenge make the study your recovery from 2 years brewing videos. Lol
You take the water and you burtonize it by playing 1983 Metallica
🤘
Lauren was kinda cringy 😄
Wasn't my favorite, that's for sure 🤣
