Scrolling through the comments here it's quite overwhelming to see so much encouragement and support. THANK YOU! It's been a pleasure taking the challenge with this community. See you in a new video soon - Martin.
Thanks Martin. I've spent the last 4.5 years recovering from a car accident and serious brain injury. I had to completely rebuild my life in every way from surgery to rehabilitation to many different therapies. I tuned in to your channel shortly after the 99 beer brewing challenge began and never missed an episode. You helped to pass the time and ease my suffering as time did its healing thing. As one who lived in Mons, Belgium and learned to drink all its many unique beers, who drank Hefeweizen for the first time in Oberammergau, Southern Bavaria, Germany, who then began homebrewing a few years later, I've enjoyed your channel and for this I say thank you so very much for all your creativity and hard work. Cheers My Friend!
Thank you for sharing this. I’m glad the videos were of some value as you worked through difficult times. I’m also insanely jealous of your drinking locales!
Hey man - I've been following along throughout lots of the videos, learned a huge amount and brewing some of the more niche styles. Would love to do a collab with you one day so I'm glad you're keeping on keeping on!
Dude, I NEVER leave comments on UA-cam videos. But I’m making an exception here. Congrats! You made it! And I know you say you’ve learned a lot…but so have I. Yours are my favorite brewing videos and it’s not even close. Well produced, informative, and fun without being ridiculous or obnoxious. Glad you’re going to continue. Well done, sir.
Really great video capturing the fun and learning that you have had along the way. Glad to have been a small part of it and cant wait to see what's next! Cheers Martin! 🍻
This is super impressive. When you first started it I knew you were sincere but skeptical that anyone could follow through for almost 2 years at this but you made it. While I haven’t seen all the videos, I started watching you around 300 subscribers from what I recall and remember being shocked the day I showed up on your door to buy equipment you had listed on craigslist or Facebook and being caught off guard thinking how random a coincidence that was and no idea you were local. I think you said I was the first person that had recognized you from UA-cam. Anyway, just thought I’d share that memory and congratulate you on an amazing job!
This series was inspirational for me as I entered the homebrewing world in my last year of college... my 6 roommates and I would like to thank you for the content
It’s hard to believe I’ve been watching these shenanigans since early on in the home brew how to days. Congrats on the first challenge! Can’t wait for the next!
Remember when this started, honestly with everything going on in he world and my personal life have this weekly video drop every week was some form of comfort in a way. Thank you for all your work, looking forward to what comes next.
The mind-blowing moment for me was when you said you took courses at Wake Tech Community. Which is mad, because I grew up in Raleigh and took classes there myself, but have lived much of my adult life as a immigrant to Scotland. I left and never looked back - hard to imagine someone choosing to make NC home!
Martin, I came in to the Homebrew Challenge after you had been uploading a year...when I want to see someone else give a steady step by step and a solid recipe - I come here. So nice for you to finish the challenge and cap it off with introducing us to all the people that made it possible. I hope you have a rest and then come back with fun new content - Now, I have to go find your barleywine video and watch...CHEERS!
Glad you're still going to be posting brewing content. Looking forward to you exploring and refining what you like, rather than what you're forced to explore.
This series has made me a much better brewer and I know I'm not the only one who can say that. Martin, thanks for bringing the BJCP list to life and giving us something else to look forward to during these crazy times. Your channel (and a couple others) inspired me to start my own homebrew channel and I can't thank you enough for doing what you do! Cheers Martin, I hope to have a beer with you someday!
First, Thanks for all the entertainment, Second, Thanks for all the recipes , I Now have a category in Beer Smith called Home Brew Challenge. Let me say I really appreciated it when you started using percent instead of weight for malt amount. It made it much easier to convert to my 10 gallon system. The product reviews were also a great help in deciding what was useful. Thanks again and I'll see youtube (small pun).
Carry on Martin!!! Me and my friends are college students and love to brew! We started brewing september 2020 and we´ve never stopped. We moved to grain really quick and your videos really help us. In portugal, the place we live there are really good craft beers however the comunity isn´t as big as the english speaking one, better yet, non existent xD. You really have left a legacy because everytime we try a beer style we always check your videos to see how it´s made and you give excellent tips! One comment I might add is you don´t go into as much detail as other brewing channels, but that´s more than ok, because you've the ability to capture the essence and fun of brewing much better, through your editing and taste tests! So for newcomers you're a godsend! I wish you all the best and please don't stop for the forseeable future xD
There are a lot of great brewers on UA-cam putting out videos, but Martin, you are the best, so much fun, so much info.....I believe everyone that has ever watched one of your videos wants to sit down and drink a beer with you......looking forward to more of your vids.
I appreciate everyone who takes time to share their homebrewing knowledge with others for free but your channel goes above and beyond with the production quality & comprehensiveness. I've learned a lot from these videos & enjoyed watching them to boot. Cheers 🍻
Thank you for sharing your journey with us Martin!! It has been incredibly inspiring as a new-ish brewer. (1.5 years) A big thank you also to Lauren, the other amazing guests, and to ABS! Looking forward to what you have planned for the future. Cheers!
It is unbeliaveble: when I started to watch this series, since the beginning, I never thought about this moment...but here we are, you did it!!! I am an homebrewer from italy, and you inspired me a lot... thank you and cheer's 🍺 But there is a beer style that I am trying to master and it's not so common: Italian grape ale. Maybe you could have some fun with this wild fermentation beer!
Been watching for the past year- it's been a great journey to watch with my homebrewer boyfriend every Tuesday. Always love the tastings with Lauren - always excited to see what's happening and to see where you go from here!
Dude, I came to the party very late, but I've just gotten through the entire playlist. I called it the "homebrew challenge challenge", lol. This came at such a good time for me as I've only just gotten back into brewing after many years of putting this wonderful hobby on the shelf. I'm more inspired than ever to just brew and keep brewing some of these styles I haven't heard much about. Belated congratulations on completing your challenge - it's such an amazing effort.
Well Martin, congrats on wrapping up 99 beers! Can't wait to see what you do next. And BTW - I won a monthly club brew competition with a derivative of your cream ale recipe. Average score was 40.5/50
I got into brewing just after Christmas 2019 when I got a basic extract starter kit from my other half. I came across your videos not long after that and by the start of the pandemic in March 2020 I’d got an all in one and started all grain. Yourself and Clawhammer Supply have been a fantastic resource, whether that’s plenty of information on what to put in certain styles from you or the even when it all goes wrong just have a laugh and drink a beer ethos from Clawhammer. Thanks very much for your weekly videos
I watched that video of yours that blew up right when it came out, no clue that was you. Been watching since week 30 or so, the videos have been amazing and the first place I go when I decide to brew a new style is this channel! I hope the regular brewing videos don't stop, maybe a series of wild, out of the box beers.
Thanks for taking us along on this journey. As a beginner homebrewer i had questions that either you or others in the comment section answered which helped me a lot. Your videos made the pandemic a little more bearable! Looking forward to whats coming next. Cheers!
Awesome wrap-up video! Its been awesome to follow along with your journey, and we are all super proud of you for what you accomplished! The herculean effort you put into this whole thing sure paid off, looking forward to what you have next, but make sure you enjoy that break!
It truly is bitter-sweet. I’m glad to see you have accomplished what you set out to do but I’m sad to have it come to an end. Well done, Martin! Can’t wait to see what’s next!
I've watched every video since the Czech lager and I've really seen this as a part of the weekly routine. You could ask my girlfriend. I had just started brewing and I knew nothing and because of your tips and tricks I can proudly say I serve some tasty beer now. When I did my military service your videos ment alot to me and it kept me grounded so many times. I will miss the challenge but I look forward to the future. If you are ever in Sweden and need anything I'll be there for you!
I've been there since the beginning and always thought your channel was one of the best. Thanks for pushing the envelope and getting outside of your box and sharing your brewing adventures.
I'm super glad that UA-cam suggested your videos for me last May. It helped get me back into brewing and I've enjoyed your journey! Thanks again and I look forward to good things in the future!
What a great video Martin! This kind of has a feeling like the end of the World Cup. The Cup Final has been played and no more games to look forward to…only the memories of the high and lows and the privilege to have taken in the matches from start to finish. It truly is a privilege to have watch you in this undertaking. I’m excited to see the content ahead. Wishing you the best in future brewing endeavors! 🍻
Congrats on finishing the challenge. At the start of the pandemic I got back into homebrewing and this channel has been a fun inspiration and helpful in getting back into the hobby and brewing good beer.
Shut up, I'm not crying you're crying. Grats again on the challenge Martin and can't wait to see more videos in the future. Cheers to filling my days with inspiration and bookmark after bookmark of recipes!
Great Re-cap! I can say this has helped me a lot as you can only read so much and imagine what the flavors will be. To watch these and see how you went along and your reviews helps pull text into a more meaningful format, for me. The number of laughs and smiles created, is a great feat and shows the power of Beer. Cheers!!
I gained a lot of inspiration and motivation from watching your videos, and on top of that all of your videos has been very re-watchable! Whenever I opened an old video to double check something I just ended up watching the whole thing again 😁 Thanks for all your hard work!
Just wow. This is the first time stumbling across your channel and looks like I got some videos to watch. I recently started home brewing and only brewed two beers. I considered creating a challenge for myself to brew 12 beers in a year and was wondering if somebody had done similar on UA-cam and here I am. That’s crazy!
Less than 2 weeks ago, I started watching this series. Several very enjoyable and informative binge sessions later, I arrive at this video. Bittersweet to say the least. Fantastic stuff, Martin.
A very warm and sincere congratulations! That was an amazing effort and commitment. You’re videos entertained me early in COVID and got me back into brewing after a seven year hiatus. My friends and family thank you!
Such a fantastic series. It's also a fantastic tool to have your videos for reference, especially for the BJCP guidelines. Big thanks from an aspiring brewer!
Well done, sir. You've influenced quite a few of my own recipes over the last 99 weeks, and I sincerely appreciate your knowledge and wisdom. Here's to the next 99!
This has been unbelievable! The whole series has been great and informative and if you didn’t want to touch allgrain you would now. I’ve brewed a few of the beers and cannot fault any of then especially the English bitter range. Cheers for all you’ve done and keep brewing
Martin! Martin, Martin, Martin! I'm Adam from Slovakia and this was a fucking big big BIG journey with you and I loved it so much that nearly my tears are coming out. I watched every video and I liked every of tham week after week. Thank you for this amazing experiance. I'm also a home brewer my self and you gave me a really lot of tips, tricks and ideas. Keep on the good work Martin! I love you and your channel!
Congratulations Martin, a tremendous effort! Totally gutted that my Wednesday mornings (in Aus) will no longer include a different beer style every week, you’ve inspired me to try a lot of beers that I never thought of brewing before. Stoked that you’ll still be putting a video up every other week though, looking forward to the next journey! Always knew she was the step daughter 💪
Martin, you're an inspiration. I don't have the space to have freezers and a bar with taps etc. but you're a huge reason I actually took the leap to all-grain brewing. I have a smaller system, but it still does 5 gal batches. My latest brew, an American IPA, should be ready to drink this week and the one I tested was delicious. Keep up the amazing work. Thank you, and cheers!
@@TheHomebrewChallenge thanks Martin! Gotta admit, it's pretty good. But my whirlfloc didn't make the beer as clean as I'd hoped. Not sure why? Although I might need a more coarse crush on the grains.
Cheers Martin !!! Thank you for your efforts. I started watching your channel about 3 years ago after I got hooked on brewing. I have enjoyed at least 110 or120 episodes and will continue to watch. Thanks for clearing up who Lauren is. Again Cheers!!!!
I didn't end up watching all 99, but I saw a ton of them during my personal lockdown and being stranded. Thanks for the wonderful videos and all the effort. I picked up homebrewing last September and we used you a lot for reference. Cheers Martin!
Congrats on your successful completion of the challenge and the success you've had in the UA-cam universe! You have offered a ton of great resourceful content and inspiration for me as a home brewer. You have also provided somewhat of an escape through a challenging time of a pandemic in which I've had to change jobs and get my family acclimated to living in a new state away from our original home. Here's to the home brew hobby, the people that we get to enjoy pints with, and to more success on your channel, Martin! Cheers!
I wanna say a big THANK YOU, Marty! I learned so much from this challenge and your take on the BJCP descriptions and had so much fun watching all this for more than a year!! Everytime i want to brew any beer style i came here to see what you did and take some ideas and inspiration. I'm whiling to continue watching this channel and the crazy things you're about to bring us! Cheers from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil o/!
Well done. Good to see you brewed many beers from Good Old Blighty too, including local Hampshire ones. If only UA-cam had been around when I first started brewing in the early 80s. Mind you all that trial and error and 'challenging' kit, techniques and ingredients taught me a lot too.
@@TheHomebrewChallenge Good for him. I'm in North Hampshire but know that brew well. Sold in many fine hostelries around here, including other quality beers.
Glad to hear you’re still going to be making content. Every Tuesday I just wait to see when the next video is dropping. It’s been especially nice the last year and a half to have something to consistently rely on. But first, take that well deserved break.
Congrats on getting to 99 (98? 😉) Beers Martin. It had become a bit of my weekly routine during the pandemic and has helped keep me entertained. Looking forward to the future videos!
Great job Martin and thank you! I have now watched your entire homebrew challenge playlist and taken notes along the way to help me study for the BJCP exam. Looking forward to checking out your other videos and what's to come. Cheers!
Scrolling through the comments here it's quite overwhelming to see so much encouragement and support. THANK YOU! It's been a pleasure taking the challenge with this community. See you in a new video soon - Martin.
Legend!
Thanks mate really interesting and entertaining. Don't go away, cheers.
Can't wait for the next chapter, thanks Martin
Don't be gone too long Martin!!
Thanks Martin. I've spent the last 4.5 years recovering from a car accident and serious brain injury. Thank you for sharing this. I’m glad the videos were of some value as you worked through difficult times. I’m also insanely jealous of your drinking locales!
I'm not going to lie, I have a slight tear in my eye watching this.
It was a fun challenge to be apart of!
Obviously you’ve been a massive part of this. It’ll be odd not having a weekly beer to taste together.
Well my mind is blown finding out that Lauren is your step daughter haha.
Same! Martin is apparently very young looking for his true age.
@@eltorpedo67 Proof beer makes you look younger :-)
Definitely a compliment to how young Martin looks!
How old is Martin ?
Shocked as well! I just assumed wife so this was a real kicker.
Hey man - I've been following along throughout lots of the videos, learned a huge amount and brewing some of the more niche styles. Would love to do a collab with you one day so I'm glad you're keeping on keeping on!
Would love to collab on something. I see you were in my hometown (Southampton) recently.
Oh yeah! I'd love to see that collab
Two of my favourite channels!
This is great! I started August 10th 2022 and finished September 12th 2022. I can not wait for your next series!
Just to let you know, your old Unibrau is doing well and brewing some fine beers. Thanks!
Love hearing this!
So thrilled to have been a tiny part of this effort. Congrats Martin!
Thanks Norm. Ace tasting appearance as usual.
I’m honored! Thanks so much for watching.
Congrats again, Martin! Great re-cap video. What a journey....!
Thanks for the recap of the 99 beer project. The plan going forward sounds fun too!
Thanks!
Really great video capturing the fun and learning that you have had along the way. Glad to have been a small part of it and cant wait to see what's next! Cheers Martin! 🍻
Thanks man.. great to have your smiling fan in the finale.
Haha I still remember that although don’t recall what you bought. Sure was odd to be recognized.
We have been through a lot together! Classy ending to a big achievement. And we know who Lauren is now!! Congrats! 🍻
Thanks!
GREAT JOB!!! Will admit got a little teary eyed watching this! Looking forward to whats next and will of course be trying more of your recipes!
Haha, thank you so much!
This series was inspirational for me as I entered the homebrewing world in my last year of college... my 6 roommates and I would like to thank you for the content
So many built in beer tasters there
Congratulations on clearing the challenge! That's some awesome dedication.
Thank you!
I’m astounded at how you have remained thin.
If I brewed a beer a week for 2 years I’d be wider than I am tall.
Congrats
Thank you so much for taking us on this journey! Much appreciated!

I joined late into your journey but I love your enthusiasm and nerdyness. I look forward to all the brewdays ahead!
Ha thanks!
Great Job Martin, really love the channel! I’ll be taking my own challenge of finishing up watching all 99 videos before you come back from your break
A challenge of its own for sure!
Congratulation Martin, that was Nice Beer Journey. Thank You
Thank you Martin....Amazing channel and I am waiting for what ever comes next.
A very warm and sincere congratulations! That was an amazing effort and commitment.
You’re videos entertained me early in COVID and got me back into brewing after a seven year hiatus.
My friends and family thank you!
Great to hear!
Such a fantastic series. It's also a fantastic tool to have your videos for reference, especially for the BJCP guidelines. Big thanks from an aspiring brewer!
Thank you!
Well done, Martin. Great job!! Like most folks who have commented, I can't believe how quickly the time has gone by. Well done on getting to the end.
Thank you!
Well done, sir. You've influenced quite a few of my own recipes over the last 99 weeks, and I sincerely appreciate your knowledge and wisdom. Here's to the next 99!
Great to hear, thanks!
This has been unbelievable! The whole series has been great and informative and if you didn’t want to touch allgrain you would now. I’ve brewed a few of the beers and cannot fault any of then especially the English bitter range. Cheers for all you’ve done and keep brewing
Thank you and glad you enjoyed the bitters.
Thanks so much for the kind words Adam!
Thank you for all the time and effort you took to make this amazing library which will help a lot of people.
Thanks for taking the time to watch.
What an accomplishment Martin! Congratulations! We've been watching along for a good while now, and really look forward to what's next! Cheers!
Thank you!
Of course! Thanks for watching.
Thank you! And I hope that AIPA comes out well.
@@TheHomebrewChallenge thanks Martin! Gotta admit, it's pretty good. But my whirlfloc didn't make the beer as clean as I'd hoped. Not sure why? Although I might need a more coarse crush on the grains.
Thanks Martin. You’ve been a big inspiration to me and plenty others. Looking forward to see the next chapter. From sunny South Africa, Cheers.
Thank you!
Cheers Martin !!! Thank you for your efforts. I started watching your channel about 3 years ago after I got hooked on brewing. I have enjoyed at least 110 or120 episodes and will continue to watch. Thanks for clearing up who Lauren is. Again Cheers!!!!
That is a serious commitment!
Looking forward to it Martin
Thanks.
Thank you Martin!
I didn't end up watching all 99, but I saw a ton of them during my personal lockdown and being stranded. Thanks for the wonderful videos and all the effort. I picked up homebrewing last September and we used you a lot for reference. Cheers Martin!
Nicely done Martin! I found your channel about a year ago and have really enjoyed tuning in every week. Cheers!
Thanks for watching.
I loved this series! Sad to see it end, but looking forward to what's next. It has inspired me in many different areas. Cheers Martin!
Thank you!
Thanks a lot Martin for this awesome journey to 99 beers, and looking forward to seeing more homebrewing adventures.
Thanks!
Cheers!
Thank you!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Really enjoyed watching you through this journey Martin.. thanks for the entertainment and inspiration.
Well done. Good to see you brewed many beers from Good Old Blighty too, including local Hampshire ones. If only UA-cam had been around when I first started brewing in the early 80s. Mind you all that trial and error and 'challenging' kit, techniques and ingredients taught me a lot too.
My Dad insisted on doing the Ringwood Best
@@TheHomebrewChallenge Good for him. I'm in North Hampshire but know that brew well. Sold in many fine hostelries around here, including other quality beers.
Glad to hear you’re still going to be making content. Every Tuesday I just wait to see when the next video is dropping. It’s been especially nice the last year and a half to have something to consistently rely on. But first, take that well deserved break.
Thanks for watching!
Superb, well put, no fluff series.
Will follow what ever you do.
Thanks for watching
Congratulations on completing all 99!!!!
Congrats on getting to 99 (98? 😉) Beers Martin. It had become a bit of my weekly routine during the pandemic and has helped keep me entertained. Looking forward to the future videos!
Thanks!
Ah man, such a humble way to pay homage to all the people who helped you on this journey. Great job
Great job Martin and thank you! I have now watched your entire homebrew challenge playlist and taken notes along the way to help me study for the BJCP exam. Looking forward to checking out your other videos and what's to come. Cheers!
Oooh good luck with the BJCP exam!!!
I don't feel this is over until I see the tasting of the flanders red and lambic.
I did't miss any video, they were my favorite show. thanks martin
Thanks for watching. And yes those sours will be ready at Christmas. I have my fingers crossed they’ll be worth the wait.
