Part 1 & 2 focus more on the band's history.
This album was so ahead of its time. Every song sounds like a musical
Musicals are gay
SILVERCHAIR will always be my favorite band! No matter what! ♥
there was a screening for this docu. in downtown Toronto yesterday for OzFlix, the Australian Film Festival. Was great, got a nice applaud from the audience!
awesome documentary!
can i get a hell yeah for the chair or what!
All their albums were great and still are. They were just a kid when they started but they were beyond their years. They're not just "nirvanas in pyjamas" (and whoever the fuck said that, must have choked to death) lol... Coz looking back to all the albums they have done, they were more than that! Different style, theme in different eras, who does that? The artistry of Daniel Johns is just genius. How they have evolved specially on Diorama were just f*cking great and sadly underrated.
Honestly one of the best albums
Best album of all time
@illeststyles His voice seemed more mature when he was younger, as he got off drugs and dealt with his demons he is starting to literally sing more, his music gets happier... I miss the misery really lol but it is so inspiration to watch him and his passion for music to evolve, his guitar rifs are fucking amazing more so now then when he was younger, I'll always love silverchair
He was talking about Natalie here. They broke up for a while and she was rumored to have dated Chris from Coldplay for a while. He also wasn't joking. Sometimes when you're sad you can write better music, but he triumphed with the making of Diorama, which focused on his happiness.
Awesome band ... very underated over this side of the pond. Still one of my favouites grew up with their music!.
I want to thank the shit out of who ever uploaded this!
ainda sonho que esse documentário ainda vai ser legendado :(
"It makes me sound really gay..." haha - poor ol Daniel - genius!
I like how baggy their cloth use to be back in the early 1990s something about it is so appealing
Oh, man. This is beyond awesome.
"wanted to write something larger than life and a bit camp." Such an endeavor of shooting for such an epic sound lends itself to camp and cheesiness, but that's what I find so brilliant. It actually somehow avoids cheese and pulls through with larger than life. I think the orchestral arrangements were really tasteful too which probably had something to do with it.
I had pretty shining eyes when this album had appear! I bought this fastest possible in the music shop just to listen this wonderful musics.
"Whatever happens, we just do whatever happens".
Great album. To think that the band was headed toward imploding soon after this album. STILL in their mid 20's-when most bands are still trying to make it at that age. Love and miss them so.
As a casual american fan from the early nineties, i had no idea about this part of his career. Strange.
@Andy Salter There are plenty of Americans, myself included, that didn't miss out on any of it. I actually like that they're not as big here.
3:49 = why i love dan so much.
he's so sincere when he's actually not joking lol.
I hope they re-release anything in video form remastered in HD cuz this shit is hard to look at.
Thats a beautiful rickenbacker he has at the start for the greatest view!
Listen to Silverchair-Point of View Live(in Melbourne) on youtube about a million times. I have!
whoa, those upclose shots of Daniel Johns....he is ridiculously aesthetically beautiful. He has great symmetry...I have commented before that he could be a beautiful woman also haha.
"it might sound a bit gay", but its actually brilliant :D
Daniel is siiiick!
its insane how good stuff can become so weird and with absolutely no meaning like happen to silverchair
OMG..i didnt think that was john at first..not used to seeing him so mature and with the beard and stuff, damn...
You mean Daniel Johns
Yeah, I've gone mad for Diorama, too.
also when i hear the name silverchair i think a teen grunge and heavy band from the 90's
keep it heavy .
I love the name Silverchair, but I think that Innocent Criminals is a pretty good name too. I don't understand why they changed it in the first place.
"1st album's about teen angst, the 2nd album's about anger the third album is about angst, the fourth album is about teen anger."
NoSuchThing99 and the 5th album is about being gay
Broke up with girlfriend because he was too happy.
My first boyfriend broke up with me because I wasn't a musician. Kurt Cobain broke up with his girl because she wasn't a musician. Moral to this story is don't be friends with musicians unless you are one. Also make sure you have something in common before you get involved.
@Praktical Thank you very much!^^ I wrote everything wrong hahaha
5:45 ben! whoa!
Question: Do you all think the guy had it right in saying Frogstomp is about teen angst? I think Freak Show is about some kind of angst, but I'm not sure what the first album is about (Suicidal Dream seems teen angsty, but what else?).
probably 'cause it wasn't john, it's daniel.
3:48 "Larger than life and a little bit camp"
he says the 1st album is about teen angst
This is the album when Daniel got fucked up
Daniel Johns is a genious...real excited about his film scoring to come. You guys should check out a video on my profile called 'The Great Divide.' It's heavily influenced by Diorama so I hope you dig it. Thanks!
i meant daniel JOHNS..lol
@molibden Emotion Sickness
Please, please, please, someone could tell me what Daniel talks around 0:40 - 0:50 ? I didn't undertand, he says: "(something) tell me everything about this first guy (something)"
He says “I don’t want everyone to find out about us on the first go...getting to know us is a journey... to discover the chair”
00:40 !!!
hmmmmm i wonder :P
? He broke up with his girlfriend at the time while making Diorama? Wasn't' he with Natalie Imbruglia then? Unless he had a mistress in Australia, and left her..There' my gossiip for this year!
i had no idea daniel started to gain weight already by 2005? i thought he started to overcome anorexia around 2007
SantiAloneVlog
He said Judy Garland, which is actually a woman.
You know the Wizard of Oz? July Garland is Dorothy ;)
