One more trick that you missed (and I use this more than Orb of Horizon) Trading 3 maps of the same type will give you a map of the next tier. Each combination of maps will give a different result, so if you take, say, 5 coves maps and swap them around until you find the next tier map you need.
Might be worth mentioning that finding and joining an active guild helps. Ours has a map tab for people to freely add/remove any maps that are in there.

There is a huge difference between trading like it is in poe and an auctionhouse as an intrinsic part of the game! It is not just 'qol'.
While I want one, I do recognize that this game attracts mathematicians, polymaths, day traders,and theoretical physicists lol. If there was an automated way to buy stuff, 3 or 4 dudes with programming skills would be bezos AF and mess up the economy even more.
I hate that every time I search for help for this game ,in every video, the first thing the presenter says is go to this website instead of go to this dungeon and fight this monster !
FYI: You can finish all 115 maps without going above T5. 3 words: Explorer's Scouter Report. As long as you have Kirac's missions, those little scrolls and map, that you want to unlock is Rare and Corrupted - it will count, even if it's natural T16, while being T1. Granted, that you will need to build your map pool after. Buuuut at League start, while you most likely not equipped for T16's - really handy. So rush as fast as you can to Commissioned Officer and Expert Reconnaissance.
The trade is Poe is definitely broken. There should be no need for further intervention if you set an item for sale and set exact price. System could take care it all and leave payment on it’s place when the item is sold. I’m a new player, what comes to trade but have very bad taste about it. At first, I went back to my hideout as soon as I got the request, then searched the item and sent invitation. 2 out of 3 didn’t come. Now I send both request from the map and travel to hideout only after last one is accepted. Now 2 out of 3 leave before I have time to search the item. It’s impossible to do in 5s, which seems to be the maximum time for most.

Another pro tip when it comes to buying one or more of the same item. Sort trades by time! And dont use bulk trade. People who recently posted are very more likely to sell you x quantity of Y since they are probably at the chest listing stuff. I hear this in global all the time that no one is responding to divine trades. Just use normal trade, sort by time and you will get a trade in seconds.
A better trick I use to buy maps for low cost is to only msg player that posted the item recently, so you know they want even 1-2chaos, trust me, is faster :)
say you have 10 of one map. but you need the tier up random one. you can put 3 in to sell if the wrong map pops up just undo the top map and try a diff one of the same map till the right one you need pops up. just vary the same map but with different of the same and you can get multiple maps with same map trade now. might sound confusing but its how i do it. and i also buy to fill in the gaps. but ya buying is fastest. thanks for showing the tip on how to buy multiple though.

Only sold one item for 85 chaos. All my currency is coming fro the chaos recipe. Going to put these tips to use this weekend.

A thing that helps me every league is playing with friends. We join each others map only during the boss kill, and it counts for the challenge.

Pay for a carry is the easy way, there is a guy that spams in trade chat pretty often selling carries for 40c or so
