Today we are going to put the Enterprise Refit from Star Trek 3 The Search for Spock against Commander Kruge's Bird of Prey.
Will the half working Enterprise survive?

Never before or after do they fire without shields, the shields here being a plot device. Then again, there’s a popular theory that the Logic of 2 is countered by the Chaos of III - people rising from the dead, Kruge being the only adversary to call Kirk’s bluff, the Enterprise being one-shot, etc. So, doing things backwards would fit.
If you think about it both Docs vessels were time machines.

Enterprise from ST3 had the best torpedo firing noise! Even heard it used in Picard series 3 when the mighty D was inside the Borg cube! 🎇🎇
I agree that was the best torpedo sfx for the old girl.
It was similar in TMP but not quite the same.
The 80s movies in general had the best everything and it all was tragically underused.

I think someone has their wires crossed - pun intended. I take exception with the idea that the Enterprise in III is not fully functional. Kirk says in his log entry that battle damage is nearly repaired. Scotty basically hot-wired the ship to be automated. If you listen to the dialogue on the bridge, Kirk is prepared to take the Enterprise to Genesis with only McCoy. When the Enterprise encounters its’ difficulties, it’s because “the automation system’s overloaded.”
They outgun me ten to one, the first match as it should've gone, wow that 2nd match was brutal.

Well, she still had some fight left to her but damn. My understanding is that BOP was one of the smallest. It had minimal crew. I'm not really surprised by results though. A fully functional connie refit would stand up to the bop. Honestly the bop is more threatening than the kTinga

That was hilarious seeing half the nacelle get blown off the Enterprise.
I was like “Ooooo” and laughed when you did your point blank range shot after you decloaked and the torpedo blew off a good chunk of the saucer. I laughed after I rewatched that bit lol.

The reason the damaged Enterprise was able to ... well nearly win in the film was Kirk waited until Kurge de-cloked and Sulu puked a load of ordnance at it with its shields down. If it came in hot with shield up the "A" would have been toast.

Even in ST3, Kruge said "Why haven't they finished us?!?? They outgun me 10 to 1!!" Yes, that 1701 should have had some trouble, but even this was a bit overdone in terms of that BOP's disruptors. This is at least in the ballpark...somewhat.

In kobyashimaru...not many at all. Anything over 8 is really pushing it. However Bridge Commander Remastered can have many many ships. The only thing that happens in remastered is, the game slows down due to the number of projectiles. I would say you could comfortably have 20+ ships in remastered. I've managed to have a fleet attack DS9 and it worked great. I suppose a fleet of TMP VS a future ship could work 🖖
