Very pleasantly surprised. Each episodes has grown from the previous to the point where I don't actually feel the need to compare it to Mashel or Black Clover anymore. Looking forward to more seasons.
The fact that this anime has kept its quality and keeps getting better throughout this season is truly remarkable unlike other shows that dropped significantly as time goes on (ToG) hope this anime gets attention it needs
No offense to danmachi but Wistoria has a much better concept imo. I don't really know which he wrote first. if wistoria is his later work I gotta praise the massive improvement he made. Danmachi has really nice world building going for it and that carries over to wistoria. but wistoria tops that with the better story as well.
@@ghosthunter0950 Wistoria is his second work and as someone who’s read both source materials I have to disagree. While I do admit the anime is better, putting only the stories side by side Danmachi is a more interesting premise and to be honest the only reason Wistoria comes close is the lack of those ecchi and harem aspects that plague Danmachi. The Wistoria story is just more generic and the farther you go into season 1 the more heavily it resembles Danmachi, but I do believe in Fujino Omori’s writing ability to make it its own unique story.
@@bbobbersI highly disagree. Danmachi suffers from mythology plays to hold it up. Wistoria is a much better fleshed out story than Danmachi could ever be, the story has already been told, it's simply a different medium and interpretation.
its a very interesting change of pace, instead of your standard "bully the little guy" character he's a "why wont you look at me?! im trying to help you!" character who's "medaling"(from Will's POV) turned to bullying at somepoint
Wistoria is basically a speed run of both Dan Machi and Black clover while using and maintaining the quality of both shows at their heights the whole show through and im here for it.
I had never heard of Wistoria until I saw it as an upcoming anime and decided to give it a shot because I give any fantasy at least an episode. A few minutes into the first episode and I already decided i was going to be reading the manga and as soon as the episode was over I started reading. Caught up to the manga before episode 2 even came out and have been eagerly awaiting new chapters. Definitely at least give the anime a chance if you like fantasy.
i was surprised when i heard it was from Danmachi's author as well, honestly im holding myself back from reading the manga till after S1 is finished (which i still need to see how many Ep's its going to get) but man im salivating over it already just from the 10 episodes we have out
@@darkdruidsvale Make sure you read the Official version. The english scanlations screw up some of the character names. Since episode 10 ends with the end of the 4 volume of the Manga. I don't think we will see the end of Volume 5 in the anime since that would be a weird not to end on. This season is supposed to be only 12 Episodes long. FYI, if you didn't catch some of the names during the Festival you will know it's Danmachi's author by the end of Ep 12
Wistoria is so much fun to watch. I look forward to it every week. After having read the manga as well, I know it is going to get even better. It feels like a perfect combination of DanMachi and Black Clover!
Honestly, it’s been one of those animes that keep me on the edge every week! Hopefully it gets a season two! Because it seems they’re just getting started in terms of the real story. There are also many compelling characters!
season 2 might come longer if you read the manga there are only 2 arcs after the season 1 the graduation arc and the ascension arc(currently not finished)
I love the atomsphere and general "vibe" of the show. It has the same kind of immersiveness that something like Harry Potter has. It sucks you right in and it feels natural and realistic. The animation is also crazy good. The 40 second long continous shot in ep 7 was actually jaw dropping.
One similarity is the more fleshed out bully character. Sion is interesting because he didn’t start trying to bully Will, but that’s how it ended up happening after Will rejected him. In Draco’s case a similar thing ends up occurring, and the mentions of his strict and racist family goes to explain his own views. And by the end, his struggle in trying to help his family but not wanting to serve Voldemort feels REAL. The concept could be written as a separate story from his POV.
@@barryg.5224 yeah i agree, but from what the video is saying it is meant to be like that, it’s not like the were trying to be original and did a copy and paste. The animation is top notch, the characters are interesting and likable, the lore is mysterious and makes you want to know more and the magic system is simple but well used.

The only complaint I have for this series is that while Omori-sensei is working on this, Danmachi falls to the wayside. I only gave it 1 episode, only because of this review and recommendation. I dislike underdog stories, the circumstances often feel forced and predictable in most anime.
But daaaaaamn Wistoria got me hooked after episode 2 and I ended up bingeing up to episode 11. Thanks!
This anime and Tensura S3 has been my fav all season. Im just a huge slime fan but Wistoria has been incredible. It's going to sound cringe but some of the animation in Wistoria is so beautiful that it nearly brought me to tears. I've been watching it subbed but I look forward to rewatching it dubbed when it finished.
The quality in the anime and manga are insane
Very well done video. Thank you Aninews. I honestly want to see a review video of the series World Trigger.
Read the manga, while watching the show… really enjoying it so far ❤
I will watch it thanks to your video!
You convinced me to give a try
I was honestly shocked when I found out that this was gonna become an anime. I had it read to me on a manga recap channel one time. And I so hope they go far with it.
That last episode had me like oh this is one of those epic stories. I'm mad there is not more episodes
After a few episodes I became a little nervous each week that we were going to see what was supposed to be the inevitable drop in quality.. it literally never came, the just keep cooking. It’s so genuinely good
