    Max you must be Psychic !My Brother had these exact same symptoms a month ago.However the water levels were fine.We opted to change the Coolant temp Sensor as every thing else checked out.He has the earlier model with the Distributor fitted.Be warned it can be very fiddly to remove_access is difficult unless you do a bit of dismantling to clear the area to get a long reach 13mm socket onto the Sensor.Its useful to have a helper to plug the orifice as it comes out,otherwise you will lose an awful lot of coolant ,as i discovered !!
    I would advice anyone doing this to get a pair of Forcepts Pliers to remove the electrical connector_it is fragile and easily damaged.
    Prices for a new Sensor vary wildly on Ebay.We settled for a good quality replacement from GSF Car Spares.Advisable .Cost around £22 . Take Care Friend .Great channel content

      Always buy quality when it comes to sensors! You made the right choice there! Yes the coolant temperature sensor is often overlooked but can have serious consequences on the overall running of the engine or starting for that matter

      Why need to change water temperature sensor ?!!????
      * Temperature sensor only control the over heating and it will ask the fan running and cooling down is it correct ???!

      The temperature sensor is also used to determine engine coolant temperature because this affects the air fuel ratio mixture to keep the vehicle running as close to stoichiometric as possible - if the coolant temperature sensor is reading incorrectly the fuel ratio can be really badly off and the engine will struggle to run

    Ya tienes un nuevo suscrito, muy interesante, puede ser por este tubo que mi k11 desprenda olor a refrigerante cuando se calienta?

      Unlikely, if you live in a hot country then smell of oil and coolant a little bit is pretty normal as long as there are no internal or external coolant leaks

    Hello Sir , my car start very quickly in the morning but when it became hot or even it is hot by sunlight it will be hard start , so where should I adjust it or check it ? Thanks

      Fix the coolant leak in my case by replacing a hose

  • @NissanMarchK11
    @NissanMarchK11 2 роки тому +1

    Were your coolant tank empty Max ? If not I don’t understand how the slightly leaking hose could affect both the temp sensor and the start of the car, could you explain again please

    • @maxautouk
      @maxautouk  Рік тому +2

      When the car starts it uses a predetermined fuel calculation based on the ambient air temperature and the coolant temperature, this is called open loop. When the car warms up it switches into closed loop and changes the fuel to air ratio using more sensors to keep the catalytic converter switching rich and lean to get an overall fuel efficiency as close to stiochiometric as possible. Generally speaking +/-10% rich or lean is considered relatively normal.
      When there is no coolant in the car the computer gets an incorrect reading, this means the air to fuel ratio is totally wrong and the car sometimes won't start, or it will start after a long crank when the engine warms slightly. So in my case having no coolant prevented the car from starting properly. And yes all the coolant leaked out of the expansion tank too.
      Hope that helps

      @@maxautouk really appreciate your reply Max! I was given another K11 but I have long crank/no crank if I want to start it after a ride, I suspect the broken coolant bottle to splash and soak the 12V wires at the bottom of the battery/air intake because if I let it fry for a few days it starts and drive perfectly but after a few km the engine struggle and it will refuse to crank again for a few days

      Aye yes and underneath the coolant expansion tank is a main earth strap that connects from the top of the gearbox and goes to the chassis that can cause the sort of issues your having, id check thats not badly corroded or broken

      @NissanMarchK11 Рік тому +1

      @@maxautouk that’s the place yes! Bought a replica reservoir on AExpress, I will check the earth strap and also the LH headlight loom integrity as it looks in bad shape (no more insulation)

      It could be a number of things but if your car has HT leads and not coil packs I'd take a look at the rotor arm 😊
