Since this is a chain/sprocket configuration, why would you not turn the pedals as you add the grease just as you would a bicycle. You wouldn’t pile grease up on a bicycle sprocket, then spin the pedals and hope the grease distributed itself evenly.
I understand what you are saying. Ask the manufacturer. I was following the instructions from them. The difference between this and a bike is. The is inclosed and a bike chain is opened. Once the grease is packed in. It is going to spread when you take it out neck time. Open up a brand new fishing reel. There will be a dab of grease in one spot. Not spread all over. It spreads as it’s being used.
