Your end points are exactly why I'm looking at the Jackson kayaks. At first I was thinking fin style was better, after seeing what others have to offer....I feel more comfortable with Jackson's setup. Now don't get me wrong. I am new to the sport. New to kayaking. But I have been a big fan of common sense for a long time! Lol 😁🤣
Thanks Kevin! There are always pros and cons to any system, but I'm 3 years in on this boat and still don't have many regrets. This is still one of the lightest pedal drive boats on the market after that time and is still one of the cheapest. I'll probably upgrade to the new drive this next year, because that thing hauls ass when I demoed it. My drive has been bulletproof too. I keep looking at new boats and think they're cool, but offer no real reasons to upgrade. Pretty happy owner all things considered.
@@kayplainsdrifter136 I ended up with the Bite. I came across a 30% discount for last seasons run. Yes! I will save a thousand dollars! I ended up getting a black pack, a rod holder, and a cup holder while I was there.
Kayak Hacks Fishing has run his Coosa fd in saltwater for three years now! I have an older Native Slayer Propel 13 and have to do similar maintenance on it (just not as often). When your greasing your drive put a little in and then turn your pedal just a little and keep doing this until you've gone a full rotation that way your getting grease all around the gear instead of just one spot. I have been looking at the Jackson Bite fd and might make it my next kayak instead of the slayer propel max 10. We'll see what i can find in my area. By the way i loved that intro!
Thx...that's a great tip! I've got a buddy that has a Native and has had a number of problems with his drive. I think that shows me that a) any manufacturer can have some problems and b) being gentle and properly maintaining a drive helps a lot. I really like the FD quite a bit so far and will report if I run into problems. I also like Triple D's! 😂 Thx for watching!
One question, are the fish eating those cicadas yet?? Good review. Bought a 2017 used Hobie PA12 not long ago..for lake fishing in the winter. Can't wait to try it.
Don't know tbh. I haven't been fishing in over a month! A MONTH! My job and the heat have killed my fishing energy. I can say the Mississippi Kites are loving eating the cicadas though!
Hey man you absolutely deserve more views. This is easily the most useful video on the FD3D I've seen.
Thanks so much! I've been pretty lazy about getting new content out lately, but I def have some more videos in the pipeline.
Tight lines!

VERY helpful man. Thank you!!! Going to grease my new Bite FD now
Thx so much for watching! Hope you enjoy that boat as much as I have
I too bought my bite fd from okc kayak
That's awesome man! I'm a big fan of that store...just bought a 3rd boat from them. They def have the hookup with Jackson stuff.
That was a great opening!!! I never realized that some peddle drives don't go backwards.
Thx man! Most do at this point, but Hobie and the companies making Mirage drive knock-offs are still putting out drives without reverse.
