Ich erinnere mich, dass ich, in einer meiner ersten Nachrichten, die ich Ihnen hier aufgeschrieben habe, nicht wusste, ob Sie Deutscher oder Amerikaner sind und dass weil Ihr Deutsch so echt authentisch und natürlich klang, für das Deutschniveau, dass ich damals hatte - so „Anfänger“ war ich :)).

Is there anymore context? In German it's really weird to say that you would or wouldn't want to overcome someone -> jemanden überwinden. It's probably weird in English too.

Ich will nicht über dich hinwegentscheiden.
Ich will nicht für dich entscheiden.
Ich will keine Entscheidung für dich fällen/treffen.

All languages articulate their meanings through the use of their language. None is more accurate than another. They simply use different ways to express the same things. German relies more heavily on adverbs and other context to articulate the same differences that English does through tenses.
