Maybe you put too much oil to your sponge.. I use 4 layer of baby oil, a thin layer each and never had this issue.. Dont forget to put a thin layer of WBG first before you boost.. It makes a sponge absorb the oil slowly..

i used it for about 3 months... and do the same process, it's been the third time i boost the rubber and still works great

The thin layer of WBG is very important here, before you start boosting your rubber.
