Actually I think they found a good balance between the raw emotion of the Codex Necro days and the catchiness of the last few like Eschaton, Hell Is Empty and Domine. I think they're just switching the focus from the atmosphere to musicianship. Though especially with the last two tracks there's still some of that old school atmosphere about.
For a while I thought Hell is Empty was the best album they made. I think i'm going to have to rethink that, Constellation of the Black Widow is pretty kick ass.
my opinion is that theyre getting better at doing good SONGS, whereas the older albums are more of a musical experience I really like the dirty, disgusting, brilliant sound of the older albums. Yet I'm having a hard time picking a favourite song :/
