I just had my first EU order on Etsy...did a couple of chats with Etsy, who couldn't help me much except direct me to the various websites where you can allegedly find the correct code...most frustrating. So, I turned to trusty UA-cam and there you were with your VERY helpful video. Thanks so much for this! Etsy should post this somewhere for reference.
May be a silly question, but can you explain what to do when your product consists of more than one material, and if the specifications you find do not exactly match your product as this is something I'm struggling to figure out at the moment
I know you've answered a similar question about a product with many things put into it, but how would you go about identifying say.. a bottle of carrier oil with multiple variations of essential oil with flowers and herbs added into the bottle? I get that essential oils in something like a carrier oil would be 3301, but what about all the other things inside of the oil? Should I just not bother with that? Lastly, what if someone orders 2 items and they're 2 completely different things? For example, someone orders a bottle of the carrier oil with the mixture of essential oils and herbs.. AND they order say.. a glass vial containing a mixture of different herbs - how would you code a package like that?

I would start with the US site, it allows you to input more detail at the beginning so for example input wooden cross or resin cross then answer the questions that follow. You will not be able to put in every single detail such as the glitter, just the main components. Hope that helps.

Hi there! You must supply an ioss number in addition to the HS code. An ioss number shows that Vat has already been collected (assuming this is the case). If you sold your item on Etsy they will collect and forward the VAT so you can use their ioss number but it must be transmitted electronically otherwise your customer could be charged VAT twice, so hand writing everything won't work. If you want to send by Royal Mail you would need to use their 'Click and Drop' service. Hope that helps!
@@PodLaunchPro this is good to know but I don’t have idea how to do it electronically since in Mexico we can’t even print the shipping labels from etsy and i’m not sure if our postal service is updated enough so they can print it on their office 😭

Of course, it may be more expensive than the post office, if you are sending small items, so you may have to increase your shipping cost a little but it is better than upsetting a customer who has to pay import duty twice.
If one item you post is made up of different items. Let’s say plastic bracket and screws. Would that need separate tariff codes ? Please if you could let me know! Thanks 🙏
As I understand the rules you would choose the main material for your item. Some tariff codes will give you the option to specify two materials for example silver jewellery with semi-precious stones. I can of course only advise and cannot accept any responsibility as a result of the code entered.

A CN22 would be required if dropping at a post office but if booking online all the information is completed when you book the parcel. A CN22 on it's own would not avoid the customer being charged tax twice. The codes are the same whether you are a limited company or a sole trader. Hope that helps.

This has all changed now . Ireland won't accept HS . I've had 2 items returned because they want taric codes.
