Kayak Fishing the Coldest April Day in Delaware

- In today's video I head out in Milton Delaware, in 40 degree weather, on a windy mid-April morning RIGHT AFTER a few days of warm-fish weather. Today's kayak co-angler is Reilly Degen, who generally fishes from shore, hoping to reach a few new places outside the reach of his usual cast.
We knew that the bite would be slow, given the conditions, but were able adjust tactics and made it happen.
The rig of the day was definitely the Googan Squad Blazin' Worm, a soft plastic lure with a tail kicking action that allows it to be fished slowly or quickly but in multiple types of conditions.
Enjoy!! And if you are reading this and haven't subscribed yet, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

Hey nice vid, I hope you get to 1,000 subs. You deserve it so the all that awesome stuff you do!
Thanks for the kind words! It will be rewarding, and im just enjoying the process of learning right now :)
Reilly's swimming worm definitely worked. those people for PA sure knows how to fish (not to mention the have some really good fishing waters).
Hahaha.... good stuff man.
I see Reilly out there doing his thang!!👍🏼
yes for certain! I really enjoy taking p3ople out and showing em new spots, probably as much as learning how things work in new places. It's satisfying :) We will have to get you out somewhere this year too Ivan!
@@paddleandhook Absolutely 👍🏼
Pain in a rear wind. Pickerels are still in play and bass slowly coming out. Let’s do big fish this year…😁
💪🏻2022 is the year of the big ones 🤞🏼
That double yak is pretty cool man! Y’all southern de guys seem to like that pond quite a bit. Trey took me there over the winter and it was pretty cool! I gotta get back out there sometime.
Its just convenient, predictable, and close to home for me. Small enough to fish in the wind. There are four other ponds within a ten min drive too that all produce but i almost never fish them lol
You got a guide service going on here. It was a viscous day, so you guys did pretty darn well considering. I have seen an otter maybe once.
Wouldnt you know the weather has been warm and nice since that day lol
One of my favorite spots that I don't get to enough!
Its a quick and easy fun little spot i like to hit once or twice each season to see the differences in how the fish behave given different conditions. Kind of a test pond in a way lol. It was neat to try something different there, and i like guiding people on familiar waters its fun to me. Maybe we should have a little impromptu kayak 1 vs 1 there sometime 🤪 that could be fun
@@paddleandhook That would be great man!
Nice! I grew up in the area but never fished that particular pond. How bad do the weeds get in the summertime? I used to do really well at Ingram with plastic worms back in the creek when the weeds got high.
The weeds have become ridiculous the last two years, but it remains a neat little spot. I havent fished Ingram in a few years, but always did well in the summer evenings there. They built like400 homes adjacent to that pond over the last few years and i wonder about the golf course runoff etc. its on the list to fish this year sometime!!
Do you still live/fish around here??
@@paddleandhook I live in southern PA now. But, my parents still live there. I don't get home as often as I would like, but when I do, I try to get some fishing in - mostly salt water. Do you ever come up this way (York County, PA)? If you want to go for smallmouth or trout, hit me up!
@@earthsciteach i certainly have fished up that way a bit, and loved it each time! I may take you up on that offer sometime…
