I wish I had your energy. I work all day and can’t wait all day to get home and stitch and sew. I get home and do the dinner thing and then I’m done. Now that it’s getting darker earlier and earlier it’s even worse.
Use needle minder for your scissors on your shirt. 😊 That is what I do with the big ones. Love seeing all the pictures of you and your girlfriends, stitchy shop, and fun. Love seeing what you have been up to the last couple of weeks. ❤ the baby quilt you made.
Liz I can relate to your love language. I love to make things for people. It makes me very happy to gift handmade things. I do have to ask what r u doing to yourself, YOU LOOK AMAZING!! Take care, thanks for sharing.
The Silver Needle looks amazing!!! I so enjoyed seeing all your projects! I finished my Wearwithall shawl and will gift it to by BFF this Christmas! I also started a pair of socks! Thanks for the enabling!!! Your baby quilt is beautiful! Thanks as always and happy stitching, in whatever form it takes!
# 1 , # 2 . Love the quilt pattern. Love the fabric bundle too. I got to visit a local quilt shop today... but all I came home with was velvet ribbon. But I did drool over the new fabrics.
Long but fun and who knew Arkansas had so much to do! Was just talking to my mom yesterday about a new car and said I needed to go look at Volvos - now I can say I just want to be like Liz 😊
I’m pretty sure it’s mostly Bentonville that has that much to do due to Walmart and the Waltons but yeah it was great! Also highly recommend my Volvo!! It’s so nice and it’s quick and the interior is excellent!
I’m also knitting the SWMKAL. There doesn’t need to be so much angst. The original pattern was problematic, solutions were found quickly, and who hasn’t frogged and reknit a project before for many reasons? It’s still going to be amazing and I am so proud of Stephen West. He’s an amazing and thoughtful designer and person. Once the next clue comes out, hopefully other knitters can gain some perspective and participate in a supportive and loving attitude.
Yeah, I just really didn't want to start over again, or at least not right now. I didn't love the approved final square and I just decided to wait and see what it all looks like before I decide to jump back in!
@@elizabethanncanstitch I’m making the variation shared by his test knitter. It’s really good and I’m sure it will work well as the test knitter obviously knows what is coming. So much creativity has sprung up from this MKAL, it’s a beautiful thing how people can work together and support each other.
That MKAL is frustrating. As a knitter, I get it!!! You crack me up with all the knitting! Love that baby quilt. Your trip looked like a lot of fun. I like your "chapters" in the video--even though I won't jump around, it is helpful when I go back and look for something you have said or done. Happy stitching Liz!
Great video, absolutely love the time stamps and I always love your haul. I really want to do that quilted witch but in a different colorway to somehow make it darker. Happy stitching, knitting, quilting!
Liz !!! Ok mom talk here ❤remember this is a hobby done for the joy it brings. Stitch what you love and the heck w rules. Maybe if you fill your heart w all the holiday stitching after the new yr you will feel like heading toward the big goals!! ❤ NO RULES in crossstitch🥰🥰🥰🥰
Hi Liz! Love your top!! 🩷🌞 Oh that boyfriend scarf yarn is so pretty!! Too bad about that SAL you were so excited about! Your colors are pretty! Hope you do find another pattern you love!! 🤗 I can't do rules or goals ...this is a fun hobby that brings me great joy...so it's whatever goes!! Happy Happy! You do get SO much done!! 🩷 I love your videos ...any way you make them!! 😊
Happy Stitching of all Kinds! You seem happily full of creativity and life. I enjoyed seeing all that you have been doing. Thanks for Sharing and Be Well.
OMG Liz, loved everything!!! The knitting is gorgeous, the mill hill kits are divine, the FQS haul was stunning, and the fobs the needle minders and the floss drops are wonderfu;/ am waiting of the FQS Spooky box, I believe when I get home it will be there YES!! Still working on Buzz off, remember me and Rackstraw ridge PLUS girlie, Im now knitting a sweater in Madelinetosh Tart!!! Im still on the rib bit am about to get into the body - cannot wait!!! AND yes, I havent picked up my cross stitch either since I started BUT I did finish 2 quilts and have started another one………….. there are never enough hours in the day especially when you work right!!! Have a great week, cant wait to see your progress on your knitting
I like your new format but I am going to watch it straight through to the end each time because I love everything you are working on! You are an inspiration to those who can’t knit anything but a straight line ha ha! Your yarns look lovely and soft, especially that beautiful scarf you are knitting. And I didn’t know about using fabric to stitch a Mill Hill kit instead of paper! Thanks for all you shared and happy stitching all the new starts😀
I love this format and I love seeing all the projects. I’m glad you mentioned that you love starting projects……a lot…..I do too, so that was encouraging to hear I’m not the only one. Blessings and take care.
Oh my gosh!! You expressed my sentiments exactly! Not feeling what I am stitching and I want to start sooo many Halloween and Christmas right now. And WIPGO…. Ummmm I got all caught up and was happy about it and bam 💥 now I am like…. These next three months I probably won’t get to them. Now I am sooo happy that i am not the only one!!! 🤭🤭🤭😁😁. Liz - thanks for adding the time stamps........ I don't tune it to watch knitting.......... glad you had fun at the Silver Needle. Thanks for sharing......... Halloween stitching is fun!!!
I've heard many flosstubers say about wipco. My board my choice...so change your goals to something manageable or add a new start. That way you can enjoy stitching on what you love. Happy stitching.
Congrats on the new car! What a bummer about your knitting project but your sweater colors are great! I really like the new format of your videos! Happy Stitching!
I just saw and heard "your nicest shout out" from Pam and Steph. Congratulations you Golden Lady! I think you are golden also. You are a pro at this. Even when you are trying to "bleep" out someone else's "oops." 😊
So glad you had a great time in Bentonville! I had to have that witch needle minder just BECAUSE :). I’m up a for delayed quilt along because I have to many WIPS right now too.
Good for you to make time with your non crafty friends. What fun to just chill and enjoy the sights ,go shopping and eating. You are an amazing knitter. So happy you are knitting again. It a very relaxing .
Yes, Shiloh showed the yarn, Halloween bag you made her. So cute. Great video and I echo the other commenter who wrote you look great. Congratulations on your new 🚙
Love your updates as usual! One of your haul is also in my cart! The floral shepperd’s peddler. You look absolutely gorgeous today btw. Congrats on the new car!
Purl Soho has a fantastic video on jobless stripes I live in Southern California where it is warm as well. I lean towards knitting with sport weight or fingering and plant fiber blends to knit. It is slower going knitting but more climate friendly for me.
I have become addicted to knitting. (So much easier than cross stitch when watching TV). Unfortunately, this restarted after moving to Texas, not the best climate for woolens😂 I quilt too. So I'm enjoying your UA-cams because you check every hobby box for me. It's just hard to find space for all these stashes.

I watch Andrea on Arkansas Gals and she bought the Lori Holt witch quilt kit and she is making it if you want to check out her videos on it. She has lots of quilting videos plus other kinds too. So glad you got to visit the Silver Needle. Thanks for sharing so much sewing, quilting and stitching………………P.S. You could attach the Lori Holt witch needle minder to the front of your new Halloween bag for a fun decoration.
oooh yes! I'm totally sticking that on my halloween bag!! I need to go check out her videos, i've been loving everyone's progress on the quilted witch!!
Fun to watch! Sounds like you had a great visit at the Silver Needle. I first shopped with them at one of the International Houston Quilt shows. Their booth was amazing. Mill Hill kits are so much fun. What did you think of the Cats in Pajamas quilt? I thought it was so fun! Take care and keep stitching all the things!🪡🧵🪡
Oh, I had to pause and download the bag project. I have a fat quarter bundle of Teresa Kogut’s Christmas fabrics and would make great gift bags. I also have finishing to do and you inspired me to go to Lady Dot’s mini dots in different colors. Looking forward to seeing your tutorial on the beautiful baby quilt. I am so trying to downsize my fabric stash. Happy Stitching 🪡🧵🙏👏🥰
I love to see All of your projects! It doesnt matter which craft !! I love them all. Im dorry about your Stphen West project. Its such a bummer to have to be involved and then let diwn! Thanks for sharing all of your energy ❤
Really enjoyed the new multipart format of the video! Also you are looking great! Would you mind sharing some of your health and fitness routines? Love your enthusiasm and energy!!! ❤
Thank you! I don't think i'll share much about that as I like to just keep my videos about crafting! But i'm not doing anything revolutionary, just talked to my dr about medical options and then eating high protein/low carb and working out a ton!
OMG, I lived in Tulsa from 1989 to 2004 and had no idea about The Silver Needle! I got so bored with the patterns and cross stitch stuff that I purchased at Hobby Lobby, Michaels and Walmart that I took a 15 year break and didn't start again until I saw a flosstube in 2020. The cross stitch world is soooo much MORE now. My son still lives in Tulsa and the next time I visit him I will definitely be making a trip to Silver Needle. I live in Arlington, TX, and my LNS is The Stitch Niche and it is adorable.
Liz!!! I love the addition of knitting on your channel! OMG, the shawl KAL sounds like a disaster. I had not heard about that. Stephen’s designs are incredibly creative and too much work for me, but I do appreciate the creativity involved. Your trip to the Silver Needle looks like a little bit of heaven. If you decide to keep your beautiful sock that you started for yourself, you can always take out the toe and make it longer. It’s gorgeous yarn. Love love love your striped sweater colors!
It sounds like you had a fantastic trip! Knitting Make-a-longs are not like SALs. I think sometimes pattern designers use them instead of test knitters. However, the degree of dysfunction in this MKAL is unusual. As a rule, I don't do them. I want to see the final product before I invest in the yarn. The pattern will always be available at a later date. I'm sorry you had this experience. Congratulations on your new car! How exciting! I hope you have a wonderful week!
yeah i think i might not be cut out for the mkal life! I'm going to see how this pattern progresses and then decide if I'm going to knit it or pick another shawl for my yarn!
Liz another amazing fun video, so glad you had a good trip….your knitting is beautiful, i know your busy, however you should help us also learn a new skill and teach us to knit socks…lolo or maybe beginner stuff like a scarf, your scarf is beautiful lolo…I haven’t sewn or stitched in over three weeks, we sold our home and are relocating to a city…lolol Saskatoon , Saskatchewan, my brain is on overload trying to design new areas….have a great week…..
Great video and a reflection of some of my own sentiments about this (also my first) MKaL w/Steven West. I am sitting at my treadle machine and have cleaned it and am learning to sew with her. I started the alternate and have set the original aside with most of the clue finished. Argh!
I could totally see those colors as a Lilli pilli wrap they also have a shawl version. Maybe even just take a look at Ambah Obrien patterns because she has SO many wraps and shawls that would be really easy to make a four color option. I would of lost all the mojo too if I started and have to restart EVERYTHING. I get why he did it but it’s so much work for the knitter. Love your colors though!!
ooh ok thanks for the recommendation Megan!! There are a couple of casapinka ones I was looking at too, but I think this yarn is just going to go into timeout for awhile 😂
So much fun to watch your videos. Remember, you are the boss of your knitting. Do what you want! You don't have to post it. I would recommend Helen Stewart (Curious Handmande) and Molly from the Homespun House for great blanket and shawl patterns that your yarn would work great for. If you are ever in Fort Worth I'd love to meet up for a book, yarn, cross stitch shopping day. West 7th Wool, is nextdoor to the bookshop that I work at.
excellent advice! I keep telling Rob i want to do a DFW trip so I can check out all the yarn and cross stitch shops up there, I need to try to do that sometime!
Here is an idea for your wipgo goals and end of the year stitching etc. Since you don't know what time of year each goal will be picked, write each goal as you normally would. If that goal is picked Oct-Dec, it is met if you get 50% done (or whatever amount you decide). That way you have the fun of wipgo but the flexibility to do other projects as well.
Don’t pressure yourself! This is all supposed to be fun and relaxing. It’s your art!!! Start new ones, postpone some wips and enjoy what you’re doing. We don’t want you burning out!!! ❤
Love your videos! I don’t know how to knit but love to see your projects along with all of your other wonderful projects. Just ordered the Chuby Bird and Chuby Fox after seeing your haul. One of these days would love make it to Silver Needle.
Hola dulce Elisabeth,me encantó mantón diseño y colores ,bueno todo lo que nos muestras es hermoso ,muy lindo color de jersey .Bendiciones y gracias por mostrarnos ❤
Love seeing all the knitting.. I may not be able to resist much longer! 😂 would you consider doing a segment or series for anyone who wants to learn but has no idea about anything knitting related? What project to start with? What do yarn weights mean? Prob a dumb question, but what does casting on mean? 🧶
Fabulous show and you are looking wonderful btw!Yes, that sounds like a total disaster KAL, particularly after the terrible events this week. Looking forward to the baby quilt video. X
An hour plus spent with you just seems to fly by, Liz! You feel disappointed in your productivity, but I am in awe of all you do! You are quite frankly a-m-a-z-I-n-g! 🤩🤩🤩 You are a wealth of knowledge and inspiration every two weeks! Your mini tour of The Silver Needle was an amuse-bouche. Just a one bite taste to wet the appetites of those of us who live in a LNS wasteland. A piece of eye candy. Love the knitting! Love the baby quilt! Love the drawstring bags! Love, love, love the Halloween haul! It’s the most wonderful time of the year. 🎃 My grandparents used the phrase, “the twisted cross” to describe the hate symbol I believe you were referencing. Don’t let the false start of a project you were so excited about dampen your enthusiasm for the shawl. Put the yarn aside for now and let it evolve organically. In time you may find a renewed desire to knit the shawl or you’ll use the gorgeous yarn for another project. Either way it’s win-win. Happy crafting!
Hi Liz. That's a shame about the MKAL. I've never participated in one of his mystery knit alongs but I have knit several of his shawls. One of my favorites of his that I knit is Exploration Station. It's a 4 color shawl and I think it would look gorgeous in your colors. Check it out and see what you think:) Loved the video! Happy Stitching:)
Hi Liz, another lovely Flosstube, thank you. I have knitted many years ago and still do some simple things now but would love to start knitting socks. I was wondering if you can recommend a very simple pattern to get me started. Thank you for any help. Kind regards.
Liz, this isn’t the first time Steven has had issues with his KAL! I started one some years ago and he kept changing it. Then he went on a trip and someone else tried to communicate what we should do. It was very disappointing. His patterns are great but he seems to have problems with his KALs.
oh no that stinks! Yeah I think I'm just going to wait til the end and then I'll decide if I'm going to restart it! I was just so excited about my progress on Sunday night and then disappointed when I saw I was going to have to start it again. Maybe later!
Bummer about the knitting project. Putting all that work into something and then being told to abandon it would be very frustrating. I wonder how many knitters out there were as disappointed.
I always start on the upper right corner of my projects because I stitch in hand from right to left. I indent 2-3 inches depending on how much fabric I have!
Another great video. I'm with you and want to start all the Halloween even though it feels like the month is almost over, even though it's not. Lol. Your trip looked awesome. I love seeing everything you work on. It's a bummer the mkal didn't pan out. It sounds like a frustrating debacle for everyone involved.

yeah i think i might not be cut out for the mkal life! I'm going to see how this pattern progresses and then decide if I'm going to knit it or pick another shawl for my yarn!
Thank you for all the inspiration. ❤
His Vertices Unite shawl would look awesome with that yarn!
Ooh I’ll look that up! Thanks!
Thanks Cheryl!! Oof moving is never fun but I hope you enjoy your new city!!
Hi Liz I feel your disappointment about the MKAL. I have decided to stitch clue 3 and continue with the MKAL. Sending loads of love
Great video and a reflection of some of my own sentiments about this (also my first) MKaL w/Steven West. I am sitting at my treadle machine and have cleaned it and am learning to sew with her. I started the alternate and have set the original aside with most of the clue finished. Argh!
That sweater is awesome. I wish I had a forth of your energy. You look great!
Thank you so much!
Re Geogradient - I'm making a granny square for my clue one. I'm pretty happy with it.
Your yarn for the MKAL is so beautiful! It's too bad it got so complicated. The baby quilt and project bags turned out so great. ❤
Love the Silver Needle! ❤❤ I attend their summer retreat in July ~ Fabulous!
Me too, looking forward to going in July!
Love your videos! I don’t know how to knit but love to see your projects along with all of your other wonderful projects. Just ordered the Chuby Bird and Chuby Fox after seeing your haul. One of these days would love make it to Silver Needle.
Love your videos and projects. Such needed inspiration!!
Your bags are beautiful! I’ll have to watch your video on how to make it. I’m also making a Musselburgh hat…..isn’t it fun?? ❤❤
Yes! I love having a stockinette in the round project to bring places, so easy to work on!
Hola dulce Elisabeth,me encantó mantón diseño y colores ,bueno todo lo que nos muestras es hermoso ,muy lindo color de jersey .Bendiciones y gracias por mostrarnos ❤
Wow, that was fun 🎉
It's called Halloween Party, (Just Nan) and 123 stitch has it. The Quilted Witch is Awesome!!! Cute pumpkin floss drops too.
oooh yes, thank you!!!
I love that sweater!!!🥰
Love seeing all the knitting.. I may not be able to resist much longer! 😂 would you consider doing a segment or series for anyone who wants to learn but has no idea about anything knitting related? What project to start with? What do yarn weights mean? Prob a dumb question, but what does casting on mean? 🧶
I think I will try to do that sometime soon, something like knitting for cross stitchers 😂
Love Silver Needle and looking forward to attending a retreat there in July!
Ooh have fun! I will definitely be back and I'm going to have to look into their retreats, its a super easy hour flight for me to get up there!
Something came up and I wasn’t able to make it to Silver Needle last Thursday. I hate that I missed you! Glad you had fun though!
such an awesome store!
Also it’s worth it to order the WeatherTech car mats/ they come with the snap the same as the VO mat snaps.
🤩🤩🤩
You are a wealth of knowledge and inspiration every two weeks!
My grandparents used the phrase, “the twisted cross” to describe the hate symbol I believe you were referencing.
Thank you!! 🥰
Dang you Liz. I’m totally getting the knitting bug again. 😡I don’t have time to work, knit AND stitch. Work’s gotta go! 😂😂😂
For the striped sweater, just my opinion to put the light blue near your face. Very pretty color for you.
oops I went with the red! hehe but I'm excited about it!
Happy Stitching:)
ooh i'll look that one up! I've knit a couple of his other shawls too, he has some gorgeous stuff!
Hi Liz, another lovely Flosstube, thank you. I have knitted many years ago and still do some simple things now but would love to start knitting socks. I was wondering if you can recommend a very simple pattern to get me started. Thank you for any help. Kind regards.
I would try the crazy sock lady’s free tutorial on UA-cam for socks!
Thanks for sharing 🎃 the quilt turned out great !!
Thank you! 😊
Your trip sounds great, and I LOVE all that Halloween hail! 🎃
When do I think I’ll have time to stitch all those charts??? But I had to have them!
life is too short. if your heart/feelings aren't in it, your stitching may show it.
How do you decide where to start on your stitching project? Left side is great, how much do you indent?
I always start on the upper right corner of my projects because I stitch in hand from right to left. I indent 2-3 inches depending on how much fabric I have!
Another great video. I'm with you and want to start all the Halloween even though it feels like the month is almost over, even though it's not. Lol. Your trip looked awesome. I love seeing everything you work on. It's a bummer the mkal didn't pan out. It sounds like a frustrating debacle for everyone involved.
Have you seen the Winter Wonderland MKAL shawl by Kay Hopkins? lots of different stitches for a challenge, and it could be cute in your colours
ooh I really like that! Just added it to my ravelry favorites, thats definitely a contender!
Warm video Loved it ❤
I'm not sure if I will ever reach maximum capacity for fat quarters. They're basically my favorite thing. I have many 😊
I'm jealous of your storage space, I definitely need to use up some of mine before i can bring more in!
@@elizabethanncanstitch storage is definitely a work in progress!
