    Bob the man the myth the legend. Quick question, how would you run power to second row from the 110v outlet in the back? Just want to take a non invasive approach. Thank you!

    • @GXBOB
      @GXBOB  4 місяці тому +1

      110v outlet and non-invasive don't go together. It involves running large gauge wires from your battery to a circuit breaker or inline fuse then to an aftermarket inverter then to location of your outlets. This project requires taking out quite a bit of panels for a custom install. OR you can just get a power inverter and plug into your cigarette lighter which is ugly and that is probably the least invasive route.

    • @GXBOB

      Yes , but that’s a 4 wire system so you’ll have to figure out how to pulse a negative current to your relay but that’s an excellent idea. I might attempt that.

    Bob, I think tapping into the wires right behind the start button is not a good idea. Criminals are aware of how easy it is to remove that button and once they see spliced wires they will attempt to reconnect them. It won't take long, so this may not be enough to discourage them from stealing your car. I have just traced the wiring diagram and those red and green wires go to the power management ecu, which is located behind the dash between navi and the glove box. Perhaps this would be a better place for tapping into the system. There is no way thief would trace it nor hot wire it in a short time. BTW, our cars are equipped with remote start, so thieves may be able to start the engine through obd port and this kill switch will not work. I've seen some people relocate factory obd port to mislead clever thieves and install fake one in place. I'm actually thinking about installing such fake port, but in addition I will connect 24v battery to it, so it fries thief's device once connected.

      Hey Chopper! Thanks for the input. If a thief wanted your truck, there is nothing you can do to stop him. The best you can do is slow him down. If its a professional thief, he would have trained himself how to steal your stock truck. They do not like any home or vehicle that has additional deterrents that wastes their time. A compromised system with double relays and spaghetti wires running all over the place will slow him down. A second switch will also be a huge factor in him staying or giving up on your truck. Again, thanks for the input.

    • @chopperpl
      @chopperpl 15 днів тому

      @@GXBOB Totally agree, however, I really like the idea of frying their expensive device, so they don't steal another car. The clue is to connect higher voltage to TX/RX pins, so high voltage fries the communication bridge on their very expensive device. They would think the car has broken CAN and walk away. They would never know I did it, because their devices would start up just fine, so chances of retaliation are close to zero. Since those cracking boxes have been purchased on darknet, I don't think thieves have option to file a warranty claim😁 Instead, they have to buy a new one, which cost way over a $1000.
