Words cannot do justice how jealous I am of this layout. I want to buy a house, and build my own layout.........and nothing I could POSSIBLY build will come even 1/10th as close to this.
OH! MY! ĢOSH! This is the best ever railroad tour! I really enjoyed the track plan showing where #2 was at as we pulled into the scene. The descriptions of operations helped the enjoyment of your railroad. The night time shots are awesome as well. So many videos just show trains running with absolutely no explanation about the process involved in construction or running. They just show looping trains with wide angle shots, and obviously done on an open house day. Thanks for taking the time to explain and show how your railroad operates, it was a great pleasure to watch.
Amazing! Note that the bigger the scale, the bigger the speakers and therefore these are as close to realistic sounds possible. You didn’t build a model railroad, you built a railroad.
now that is a man with a passion for trains. too beat out deer and concor gophers, building mountains to 4 foot high bridges. love some of the town names. i am sure a reflection of the time of the build. just all around awe struck. lawn chair, feet up and beer in each hand, ( well it does look warm ) I could spend many a night, just watching. a mans dream come true. great video John, again,, just in awe.
Dear Mr. Turner, since many years I watch Your wonderful videos of Your wonderful garden railroad - one of the worlds best. This video is a masterwork with great explanations including the red dot, a really guided tour. And the view to San Jose is overwhelming. Thank You for sharing and much fun farthermore. Greatings from Germany. Joachim
What a mind-boggling layout and classy video work too. Normally on a layout tour, the dialogue is filled with "We need to finish....." and "We're gradually installing...." but this layout really does seem to be complete - if a layout is ever really finished. EVERYTHING appears to have a purpose; trains don't just run round and round, they seem to be going somewhere and for a purpose. This is much more interesting for the viewer and must make operation much more entertaining. Thanks for sharing this masterpiece - the rest of us can only dream.
That is quite an enormous yet detailed layout. It makes me wish I could find the time, money, and skill to make something like that happen. But eventually if I try hard enough and get lucky I might.
Visited your railroad a few yrs ago when you were on NGRC tour, LOVED IT. I too am a concrete mountain builder, yours is very inspiring . Your nite shots are very inspiring. From the Ozarks in Mo.
Lovely, lot of work and love. I don t know much about layouts and all, altough i love to see all these videos, and i have one question. how do you keep everything to get ruin by rain, sun, etc?
Looking great, im liking the over all look of layout and the way you can operate it, the night scenes are superb... stop by and check out my O gauge in the garden...
The equipment looks like Fn3 to me. The layout's main purpose is operations, so I wouldn't be surprised if I found out there was some other scale mixed in here and there. It's a fun layout to operate on though, I can tell you that.
This is absolutely fantastic blown away by the details amazing results fantastic job, so cool from Tasmania Australia New Subscriber and we hit the bell check us out when u get time cheers KC 🇦🇺
This railroad and the Fern Creek and Western is what got me into garden railroads.
You have to see it in person! Unbelievable model details, valley view, sense of real railroading
Words cannot do justice how jealous I am of this layout. I want to buy a house, and build my own layout.........and nothing I could POSSIBLY build will come even 1/10th as close to this.
The level of detail is just amazing.
I've never see a layout with such an amazing view! So nice!
Very nice seeing this vid. Great lay out !
Omg more nighttime video! Awesome!
I’m sure if it was your specific intent, but the shadows alone cast by those beautiful bridges look incredible!

Thanks. solar. If you liked this, check out the play list "Layout Tours" on the channel. They're all pretty similar in format.

You didn’t build a model railroad, you built a railroad.
Great train layout. Also he has a sense of humor - “Trust Us Energy Corporation”.

For sure, Dave. Ray's also very welcoming to new people who come to operate on the Mystic Mountain. Great guy.
Very nice garden layout! Automobile on flatcar train #2 not to scale.
Fantastic !
Love the effort put into this layout, awesome job and something to be proud of
Vert nice hope to gave something like that one day but I'm sure not so big or nice. Thanks for sharing😊

Battery controlled, nice. No more cleaning of the brass or silver every time you run the train.
You got that right!
The whole reason my dad got into G gauge was just that.

For sure! Ray's layout is designed and built for ops - your description about everything having a purpose is spot on.
Fantastic, just utterly fantastic.
What an amazing garden railroad
Thanks John for showing us that Beautiful garden layout. Very well shoot and edited.

Excellent narration too!!
Great Railroad, looks like fun to operate. Backroads Bob
It's a lot of fun, Bob.
That's a pretty cool layout!
Very cool railroad!! I’d be interested to know how you converted to battery powered engines.
Thanks Ken
Awesome
Love this layout! Surprised to see hook and loop couplers on everything. Is it because they are so much easier to uncouple when switching ?
Another great video John, would love to see an operating session on the Mystic Mountain in the future.
Great layout Tour John, Beautiful scenery as well
Fantastic loved the layout G scale needs to be done by more modelers
Very nice layout love the bridges. Skol!
Very nice layout! Only if I had the money and the time!
That's Cool!

4:58 I still want to do wood, get that creosote on it- for the smell too@
Awesome layout! Is this g scale or Fn3 ?

Nice layout. Is that a COAL fired water tank????
Sure looks like one! :)
🇺🇸🇬🇧💪👏😊👍✌️
Was your dad Roy Turner ?
Can this be seen on Google earth? Can you supply Lat & Long?
Even if I could, I would not do so. I'm sure Ray has no interest in his home being advertised on the internet! :)
Did Ray Turner narrate Tracks Ahead Episodes ??
I don't think so. At least he didn't mention it. He could narrate programs, though. I think he has a good voice for that.
This is absolutely fantastic blown away by the details amazing results fantastic job, so cool from Tasmania Australia New Subscriber and we hit the bell check us out when u get time cheers KC 🇦🇺
Awesome layout!
