Plus it’s harder to avoid brands that are taking over such as apple bc you need a phone and access to the internet so this isn’t the gotcha you think it is. I agree. Most of the time I look for clothes that are high quality and look great but aren’t super expensive. If I buy at retail I try to make sure its something I will have for years to come and later leave for my future children or donate so others can love that piece as much as I did

I've been a fan of yours since the early days of black head and mask videos, Kpop inspired makeup before half these huge groups existed, etc. I really enjoy your energy and enthusiasm but I'm going to have to admit I'm concerned that this is continuing to be a channel that only does cheap clothing hauls.
I understand you need content and you're looking for your own style but there's more economical and less wasteful ways of doing it. You know it. Give this some real thought going forward.

i think it's time for me to say goodbye to fei. i just can't handle the way her videos contribute to fast fashion culture and consumerism anymore. this temu video is the last straw for me i think. temu embodies everything that's wrong with fast fashion, and fei has enough sponsors and money to be able to support and promote sustainable brands with good practices. i can understand people who're struggling with money and need new clothing buying from temu, but not influencers. and this goes for all the fast fashion she promotes, not just temu. please do more reasearch on the brands you support, reflect on how your videos feed into the completely unsustainable consumerist landscape we're living in.

Fei I support you getting a bag, but there is no way that Temu is ethically producing clothing at goods at the prices they offer.
I doubt liphop and other kstyle brands are ethical either, but Temu is really the extreme case.
I know a lot of people are upset about UA-camrs or people in general sponsoring fast fashion but you really have to look at it from both perspectives. And I’m not talking about just fei because it seems like she obviously has the money to buy sustainable clothing. But an average middle class worker doesn’t have the money to spend 1000 dollars on a haul of clothes or spend 50 dollars just to get one top. Or even 20 dollars for one top. Fast fashion unfortunately makes it easy for people who can’t spend big amount of money to buy new clothes. The other side of that of course is the sweat shops and the manual labor that they companies put workers through and barely even pay them. But it’s really a double edged sword. You can’t expect a normal person to be able to buy sustainable clothes always when the sustainable clothing costs more than a carton of eggs or milk. And again this really isn’t the situation fei is in because it seems from her videos that she has money. But I’ve seen people attacking smaller content creators who just need to make a living and most likely can’t afford to spend so much money on clothes. Now my solution to this is usually thrifting. I think it’s a really good way to get clothes sometimes new and unique pieces for less money and it’s usually by vintage or yk sustainable brands.
Thrifting has its setbacks as well. For example, those thrifting UA-cam channels are consistently buying thrifted items, so they’re still over-consuming. And odds are these people and as well as regular folk will only wear these thrifted items for a season or os, only to donate or resale it for an inflated price. Again, that doesn’t do anyone any good. Also, the thrifting prices in store are getting inflated as well. My mom has always been a thriftier and she has been going to the same thrifting store for decades now. She has been complaining since 2020 about how the prices are increasing, especially this year. Also, not everyone has access to a thrift store. For example, people with disabilities can’t go to a thrift store and look for hours for a few thrifted items. I used to live in a small suburb WITHIN A CITY and they didn’t have any thirsting stores. So, imagine a small town. I doubt they all have thrifting stores.
UA-cam makes it seem like thrifting is the miracle answer to all of this, but it’s not.
We buy too much stuff. And these UA-camrs consistently promoting stuff to buy and/or encouraging shopping (whether it’s fast fashion or thrifting) isn’t helping. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that I don’t do this. I have way too many clothes. Most of my clothing comes from thrifting apps because I’m disabled. I can admit to myself and others that I buy clothing and way too much of it because I’m severely depressed, I want to die, and I simply don’t care. I’m not here to change the world. And I don’t think most people are here to do that either. If anything, we all make it worse in our little ways.
I think the Internet just has too much too say, not enough proactivity, and needs to STFU.
@@projectalyce I could agree. The internet does have a lot of say and shame towards people who don’t act a certain way pertaining to this topic but those same people rarely do anything or give probable solutions towards the issue.

And at the end of the day people do buy too much of clothes but sadly society has made a lot of people think that if you have something old you need to get rid of it and buy the best new thing which isn’t always true especially pertaining to some clothes.
