    Gruden was winning that Super Bowl regardless of which team he was coaching.
    And before you tell me he only won because of the talent he inherited from Dungy, keep in mind that he knew that Raiders playbook cover to cover because he wrote it. Why else did he simulate Rich Gannon himself on scout team during Super Bowl practices? Why else was John Lynch calling out which plays the Raiders were running before the snap?
    If Gruden was still coaching the Raiders, Tampa Bay would NOT have that particular advantage.

    Gruden got there with Dungy's players and Callahan with Gruden's. This was the Super Bowl that Raiders lineman Barrett Robbins disappeared. He had stopped taking his meds, and when he was found, was so incoherent he didn't know where he was. Al Davis still wanted him in the game, and Willie Brown had Robbins running wind sprints in the parking lot the morning of the game to see if he could play. Initially Callahan was going to have Barrett play, but not start. he then realized Barrett was not fit to play at all. Raiders released him in 2004 after he tested positive for steroids. He has had nothing but trouble since. Arrested 7-8 times..

    • @stevep8445
      @stevep8445 3 роки тому +3

      @Dallas Texans 1952 And Brown has since said it was only his "opinion" and he had ZERO proof. He also said it was wrong to say Callahan changing the game plan had anything to do with what Robbins did. Robbins was found to have severe mental problems, he wound up shot several times by cops and was charged with attempted murder. (Charges later changed because of his illness). Gannon said the biggest issue was much of the verbiage was the same as when Gruden was there, and Tampa was able to pick up on a lot of the plays.
      Lincoln Kennedy said Brown's theory was garbage.:
      Former Raiders offensive tackle Lincoln Kennedy told USA Today on Tuesday that Brown was incorrectly remembering the facts.
      "When you use a word as strong as [sabotage], people think you purposely tried to go out there and lose the game, and I know that not to be true," Kennedy told USA Today. "If you didn't like an organization, why would you take them all the way to the Super Bowl?
      "Everyone knows the gratification, the rewards that come with winning a Super Bowl. As a coach, you can really write your own ticket elsewhere. So even if you didn't like them, why would you go so far as to lose it?"

    Gruden was legit gifted a Super Bowl. Dude was gifted a defense made by Tony Dungy and the 2002 Head Coach, Bill Callahan, did not change the name of the plays for the Super and the Friday before the Super Bowl, Bill changed the entire game plan from a heavy run game to a passing offense. Also, let's not ignore Raiders center Barret Robbins going crazy the day before the game and the Raiders having their 2nd string center.
    Raiders receivers Tim Brown and Jerry Rice both (for some time) thought that there was legit sabotage. Rich Gannon (who defended Callahan) even thought it was weird that Callahan never changed thw name of the plays.
