Mr. Wilson is a brilliant actor as he stood toe to toe with one of the funniest natural comedic geniuses that ever-lived Mr. Redd Foxx and took the voice of reason behind his pops on the show. He had just as many laughs as Mr. Foxx did and played the role perfectly. I do not think anyone could have done a better job! An all-black cast that my late dad absolutely loved and let me laugh with him even though at 8 or 9 I didn't get the humor. I laughed because my father did. As a grown man in later years watching reruns, I finally understood the cutting-edge humor in the absolute perfectly cast show Sanford and Son. Thanks, Mr. Wilson for being a class act!

Demond didn't perform much after Sanford & Son. He had a couple appearances on the Love Boat and a few short series shows that didn't get off the ground. I think his becoming a minister took all of his time.
