Where is the pocket?
It's there but never at the same place and that's what I really found interesting. I agree that it's easier to appreciate it as part of the whole concert.

Everyone seems bored af. Why? Because there ain’t no sustained coherent groove. Technique alone ain’t gonna knock it.
I understand your feeling if you consider the solo without taking into account the moment it happened. I can assure you that this solo was in harmony with what happened before and a great introduction to what came afterwards. You can check this project and all the musicians on internet if you like.
