Wow, Rob thank you for this amazing review. I'm bowled over by your comments my friend. Thank you so much!
I really like this a lot!!! And your welcome!!
Just ordered the hardcover, the cards, and both bookmarks. Thank you for posting this!
Can’t wait to receive mine and get started.
Where were you able to order all the physical stuff?
Hope you enjoy it!
I backed this kick starter and got the cards and everything ! I haven’t played yet. Your excitement has me really motivated to try
It’s so good
Great job Toby, can't wait to try it!
It’s a great game
Really great review! This game is brilliant!
Each level takes me about 2 hours. The deeper the dungeon, the harder the creatures, but they also give more XP and there are more surprises to find. It plays well both on paper and digitally on my iPad.
Really looking forward to your reviews of his other games!
coming soon!!
@@seahawk8601You rock! Thanks for making these videos!
Ordered the cards today. Looks really good. Deciding whether to order the hardback or softback version of the rules.
Once again Rob you've put together a great video. Many thanks.👍
Thanks
I bought this earlier in the week based on your recommendation. I got to play today and am loving it. I'm half way through the first level and heading back to town after almost being killed 3 times.
Thank you my friend
I backed the new Realm Kickstarter and added Dungeon to it like a lot of others. Can't wait to get them!
Glad to hear it
I just backed their recent 2d6 Realm kickstarter and also got the core Dungeon book. Looking forward to playing this. I'm also with you on these RPGs vs big box board games. I tend to enjoy the RPGs more and it's a fraction of the cost, storage space & set up/tear down time.
This is simple open book and roll
You have to be careful though with these "simple" dungeon crawlers.
Once you start to expand past the basic core book you and want to either print the expansions and get the little extras, not to mention any pencils and notebooks you start reaching the $60-$80 range.
I'm sure lots of d100 and 4AD players are now spending $100 for a roll and draw game with no deep narratives, when they could have saved money by just getting a big box game.
I am liking this combat system a lot. Reminds me of the Risk system in a video game called Vagrant Story, which is one of my favorite games of all time. Im considering getting this for my dice rpg fix.
Nice!!!
I agree with much of your assessment. Really clever skill system that makes combat more than just simple back and forth hit rolls. I have the PDFs and I’m really enjoying this one so far. I also have the books and the cards ordered and on the way, so I expect to be able to go completely tablet free at some point. Now, to work up some weapon swapping “house rules” …
Cool
Great review! I've only recently discovered RPGs and am having a whale of a time playing solo
It’s so much fun I think you will like D100 dungeon check it out it is a ton of fun
This does look like a lot of fun. These books with all these tables would benefit so much if they were spiral bound. Great video with great passion, thank you and see you in the next one.
That would have been great. When I play it I'm always a bit worried the spine will tear
Then print the pdf and bind it
@@seahawk8601 Yep, that's what I did. Printed it out as a full color booklet and staple bound it
If you go to the late pledge for 2d6 Realm, there is a Spiral Bound version of both Dungeons and Realms avaliable
@@seahawk8601 Sometimes you make too much sense lol.
This is the second time: First I wanted to invent a card game and I was really getting going when I discovered Air Land & Sea, which was a finished version of what I'd started but with a couple extra ideas better than I ever would have conjured. This time I wanted to build a d6 tabletop RPG game and here it is, complete and better than I would have done: 2d6 Dungeon. Wild story anyway, this is a cool game!
Nice
This looks really cool. WotC is really fudging tbat D&D license, and im glad people are steppin up and making great pen and paper adaptations and boardgames about what we loved from this system. Thanks for covering this Rob, literally the first ive ever heard of this game
trust me it is fun!
I so wanted to love this! Got everything in the Kickstarter but the repetitive mechanics made it fall flat for me. On the plus side: I can use the tables and enemies in 4 Against Darkenss and even Warhammer Role Play so aside from my disappointment it wasn’t a total loss I suppose…
To each there own as I always say
Game looks great, but the print looks small for old eyes, how did you find reading the tables Rob?
It is an eye chart for sure. But you can print out the pages full 8.5x11 though to solve that
Print out the pdf it’s bigger
@@seahawk8601 OK thanks👌
@@sethpeterson8261 loverly thank you 😊👍
Personally I felt it was easier to just look up the enemies in the book and quit bothering with the cards. I did find it useful to print out the charts because the book is printed really close to the spine and opening it that wide to read them feels like it's about to break and start losing pages.
It's a fun game, but the 2d6 Dungeons title and some of the unthematic terminology bums me out though. Combat and the dungeon itself is super thematic and flavorful though.
You do you
I was initially very up for this one but, having watched some gameplay videos, it does look quite repetitive; engaging in combat with every NPC and limited possibility of using non-combat stats. Am I missing something, Rob? I’m relatively new to solo RPG but have got more out of Mork Borg, with Solitary Defilement supplement, than I suspect I would out of this. By the way, glad that things seem to be looking up for you and that you will not be giving up the channel. Greetings from England.
not every game is for everyone for me i control the narrative in this so i love it
@@seahawk8601 Fair point. I think I'll give the demo version a go and see where I go from there. I appreciate this could be a console with lots of scope for growth In all sorts of directions and I would like to support another Brit, if possible, particularly as Toby seems to be a nice guy (and I like Forty Fiends, which is a supplement he wrote for Mork Borg).
Check out Dungeon Pages and Dangerous Space
Check out my list next week
😅 not bad, but still dont see how this is better than 4AD.
That’s fine
