I have heard this before and I cannot describe how mad I am at the ATC! This was a genius recreation of this incident though - love it! USAir was 100% today's hero.
it's insane how dangerous ground ops were back before advanced ground radar... it's also insane that the ATC would be so combatative with the pilots instead of immediately helping out
I usually don't comment on UA-cam videos, but I'm doing it here to let you know that I really REALLY respect your work. I'm hoping to see more such quality focused videos.
Please tell me the ATC woman was fired immediately, getting annoyed at folks who are actually riding an airplane without any vision while she judges them from her comfy chair.
She apparently was given ‘extra training,’ but if I was her supervisor she would’ve been out in an hour for having an arrogant attitude and prioritizing quick takeoffs over the safety of others
She was making the correct decisions under all the pressure, but the issue was with the plane that took the wrong turn instead of listening to the correct instructions which ultimately, with the issue of no ground radar, made things all go confused
This incident is just scary but way you narrated just gave me CHILLS. Your voice is just so soothing, perfect for podcasts and documentaries. Your videos are so good!
I have watched 100s of Aircraft Crash Investigations. Honestly, the work that you do is absolutely incredible. All the very best to your future. Keep going. You earned a follower.
Wow! Just amazing how a channel so young can produce such high quality, brilliantly edited videos. Your narration/storytelling is two levels above the other "renowned" channels. Keep up the fantastic work. Subscribed when the very first vid came out and haven't missed any since
Recently in New Delhi India, a passenger punched pilot just because flight was delayed. Actually pilot was right he didn't fly because of low visibility due to the fog. I will forward this so well explained video to all my family, friends and all groups on my social media so that it reaches to maximum people and they know how dangerous it is to take off when there is heavy fog on runway. It's better to be late at the destination then to be late title in the front of our name.
This is a perfectly made video! The background music, voiceover, the radio conversation, truly mind blowing production quality. I have one suggestion: You could zoom in/out on plane’s position for a clearer view. For example, when you showed the entire runway map, it was easy to to miss the highlighter.
Unbelievable that controller wouldn't shut everything down til they figure out where this plane is.Honest mistakes happen-like the 1st near miss. But to clear another plane for takeoff is beyond blatant negligence.Had that 2nd plane not wisely refused to take off-that controller shouldve gone to prison had they collided. Great job by that pilot...awful job,& attitude by that controller.

If the title didn't say 'nearly' and kept me in the suspense, I could have never watched the FedEx take off... It was already nerve wracking seeing the situation that I had to pause the video at that moment and take a breather. The US Air pilot though - What a hero!! Insane video !

Power tripper.
Can we all just respect how the US Air crew declined takeoff clearance multiple times probably saving hundreds of lives?
