As a Pakistani, I feel really ashamed that our whole system is so corrupt and incompetent. It saddens me that the tragedy of PIA flight 8303 was not about the plane itself, but rather the pilots involved. Pakistan has many great minds and skilled individuals, yet our system is plagued by corruption and bribery. Just to clear something up in case someone might be wondering; as Muslims we are allowed to abstain from fasting while traveling, during sickness etc. and it's actually recommended to not push your body to its limits if you feel like you wouldn't be able to bear the whole length of fasting. A lot of Muslims while traveling don't fast, so it baffles me how these pilots, with such an important job to do, were fasting that day!
The first psychological assessment was correct. The senior pilot's behaviour is entirely consistent with behaviour that is prevalent with those who have narcissistic personality disorder.

@ The hadith about the permissibility of not fasting while traveling can be found in multiple narrations. One of the well-known ones is narrated by Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه): Hadith 1: Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) reported: “We used to travel with the Prophet (ﷺ), and neither the fasting person criticized the one who was not fasting, nor did the one who was not fasting criticize the fasting one.” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 1947; Sahih Muslim, Hadith 1118) Hadith 2: Another narration from Aisha (رضي الله عنها): “Hamza ibn Amr al-Aslami asked the Prophet (ﷺ), ‘O Messenger of Allah, I find myself able to fast while traveling. Should I fast?’ The Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘It is a concession from Allah, so whoever accepts it, it is good, and whoever prefers to fast, there is no harm in it.’” (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 1121) Hadith 3: In another hadith, narrated by Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنه): “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was on a journey, and he saw a crowd of people and a man who had been shaded. He (ﷺ) asked, ‘What is this?’ They said, ‘He is fasting.’ He (ﷺ) said, ‘It is not righteousness to fast while traveling.’” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 1946; Sahih Muslim, Hadith 1115) From these hadiths, we understand that fasting during travel is not obligatory and is a concession granted by Allah (ﷻ). A traveler has the option to either fast or break the fast, depending on what is easier for them. However, it is emphasized that there is no blame on either choice, and the key principle is to do what is less burdensome.

Crazy to think that even after being so reckless if the Co pilot hadn’t pulled up the landing gear without mentioning it or had he realised and put it back down himself the pilot would’ve gotten away with it all. So sad and unfortunate for the passengers.
I still vividly remember that I was going back to Hyderabad with my friends from Karachi, I don't remember how much time was left for Iftar, because it was around Iftar time. Suddenly we saw a lot of police, fire brigade and ambulances near the airport, where this colony is located, and this is not ‘Model Colony’, but it is Malir Cantt. A lot of traffic and media teams had also gathered. Smoke was visible in the sky from far away. We had absolutely no idea what had happened at that time. Then one of my friends opened live news channel on his mobile phone and found out that it was an unfortunate plane crash, merely 10/20 minutes before us stopping at that colony. Few days were left in Eid. 😢
Even after so many regulations, the fact that aircraft crashes still happen for such reasons gives me chills down my spine. btw the way u explained this incident is just awesome i said before and i am saying again its competent with nat geo air craft crash investigation series.

I have been a pilot since 1987. I heard the cockpit voice recorder and their in cockpit and approach and tower communications. I cannot believe PIA allows such poor and unprofessional conduct of a captain who shows complete disregard for procedures and checklists. The captain's conduct was criminally negligent. Shame on PIA for tolerating such pilots. He should have been fired long time ago and people would have been alive.
*My brother is pilot. He once told me that he was not allowed to keep his fast (fasting during month of Ramadhan) because that could affect his ability to make quick decisions during flight. Doctors who are doing surgeries are not allowed to fast aswell. As a Muslim who fasts 30 days of Ramadhan, most of the times I cannot focus on things around me. I get mad easily, i lose temper and am sleepy. I also cant make quick decisions or even wise ones. I am sure both pilots on this plane were fasting and that is why they couldn't make wise decisions. May the souls of all those who lost their lives in this crash rest in peace.*

I swear after watching this I’ve realised I can take up any profession in the world but not that of a pilot… it’s so difficult and hundreds of people’s lives are totally dependent on you. Damn!
You'd have undergone so much training and continuing education that flying will come naturally. You really earn your bread when things go wrong and you need to think on your feet to fix things!
In Pakistan, not in just Aviation but in every department, Officers hold much more power and they can override any rules. In this particular accident, the Pilot completely ignored the Warnings from the Ground controller. The ground controller knows If he says something, he could be at risk of losing his job. In other world, this Pilot would be fired from his service immediately and banned from joining any other Airline.
In subcontinent especially Pakistan there is a slang term "Baap ko mat sikha". Captain thought that he is genius and will land the plane safely after so many warnings.
I once flyed PIA to saudi arabia my over all rating was 9.5 it was really good but that was my first and last simce i didn’t go on there ever again since i flew emirates or flydubai after that
if they just stayed on the ground after the belly landing, it would've been less disastrous... but they had already lost all situational awareness before then and couldn't make such a heads-up save...
Amazing vid, hope I'm not too late. Now I understand why you took extra time to perfect this. Still very sad that many people died just because of two peoples mistakes with so many warnings
How come they landed without opening the landing gear and then set both engines on fire and couldn't figure out that the landing tyres were not open. They were not fasting, they were drunk for sure.
If being dominant bossy and overbearing disqualifies u as a pilot, why do males keep saying women shouldn't be pilots when these traits are mostly found in men.💀💀
Only following islamic rules will not work, if it is prohibited to go on fasting once u r involved with public service and where proper health care is mandatory

Those with money can easily find their way, while highly skilled individuals with fewer resources struggle to succeed. It truly breaks my heart to say that I feel ashamed to call myself a Pakistani, because these issues tarnish the reputation of my country.

What a load of bull shit. The Prophet Muhammed Pbuh and the Sahabi would go to battle fasting.
Mohammed Salah would fast while playing soccer.
Bachar Houli in Australian rules used to fast while playing professional sport, same with Adam Saad for the Carlton Football Club, stop blaming Fasting because of the incompetence of the Pilot. You can see clearly that He failed a medical exam regarding his Psychological issues how He was a bully, arrogant, control freak, that didn't listen to orders and the list goes on. And ontop of that the report also suggests almost 150 Pakistan pilots have been stood down for holding either a fake Pilot license or have a dubious one, and yet you guys ignore all of that and pick on "fasting".
Even if he didn't fast it wouldn't have made a difference, because he was a known offender even on days he didn't fast, did you even watch the video that clearly stated He had a "track record" of not adhering to SOP's? And that on many occasions He would enter a run way being to high from the run way, so clearly the pilot had a history even when he wasnt fasting not adhereing to standard procedures? So clearly this Pilot was a known offender and had really bad driving habits.

@ The hadith about the permissibility of not fasting while traveling can be found in multiple narrations. One of the well-known ones is narrated by Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه):
Hadith 1:
Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) reported:
“We used to travel with the Prophet (ﷺ), and neither the fasting person criticized the one who was not fasting, nor did the one who was not fasting criticize the fasting one.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 1947; Sahih Muslim, Hadith 1118)
Hadith 2:
Another narration from Aisha (رضي الله عنها):
“Hamza ibn Amr al-Aslami asked the Prophet (ﷺ), ‘O Messenger of Allah, I find myself able to fast while traveling. Should I fast?’ The Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘It is a concession from Allah, so whoever accepts it, it is good, and whoever prefers to fast, there is no harm in it.’”
(Sahih Muslim, Hadith 1121)
Hadith 3:
In another hadith, narrated by Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنه):
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was on a journey, and he saw a crowd of people and a man who had been shaded. He (ﷺ) asked, ‘What is this?’ They said, ‘He is fasting.’ He (ﷺ) said, ‘It is not righteousness to fast while traveling.’”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 1946; Sahih Muslim, Hadith 1115)
From these hadiths, we understand that fasting during travel is not obligatory and is a concession granted by Allah (ﷻ). A traveler has the option to either fast or break the fast, depending on what is easier for them. However, it is emphasized that there is no blame on either choice, and the key principle is to do what is less burdensome.

From day 1 his family began blaming the airline for out of maintenance aircraft. Consequently, he airline delivered his body home in a cargo van.
