    This is just good damn knowledge to learn no matter who we are. I spent two hours today tracking down a bad resistor from a small solar panel controller board. Honestly I was so impressed with how much technology PCB's made the world from even 50 years ago.

    they will not pay a man to sit at a bench and repair these because asians make them for pennies and there has always been a steady supply. it is a lost art. many will actually deem a pcm, module, or circuitboard as being faulty partly because they assume and fire a parts cannon at a problem, another being a lack of a department equipped to send it to and have it tested. i am an electrician and trained in all this stuff but did not specialize in it or do it everyday. in the navy we had a guy specifically for this sortof thing and he was very valuable and so amazing. he could find an open resistor somewhere in a huge maze of a mess of a circuitboard and repair it in a heartbeat.
    maybe we dont need so many gosh darn electronics in vehicles. maybe older vehicles restomoded (obviously a hei distributor is better than points, and do we really need a pcm? my 69 ford used to get the same gas mileage as trucks today) are the way to go and encourage people to ride bicycles, motorcycles, and scooters more often to save on gas instead of having all this circuitry to regulate emissions and try to squeeze mpg etc, or all these stupid body control modules and can bus systems. fordtechmakulko just did a repair for a taillight for $4500 and uncletonysgarage also made a video about how silly its becoming.
    is it so hard to turn a dial to choose the temperature of the heater or a/c? they used to just have a cable, then they went to vacuum, now its ran by a Fing computer

    • @bri0013
      @bri0013 Рік тому

      I understand your sentiment about repairing instead of replacing and the "parts cannon" my brother is currently dealing with 2019 Ford 150 throwing codes out like confetti.. that being said he's checked, as well as the mechanic of all things mechanical. All the while I'm sure the problem is a circuit board problem. So far no results. 30k truck that won't run.

    Not ohms, the meter is set to diode check. You're actually seeing the voltage drop across an item. It still pretty much works the same to trace signals. If you forward bias a diode, it'll show approx. .5 volts.

    • @Joeelectronicschematicsforauto
      @Joeelectronicschematicsforauto Рік тому

      The diode function of the meter will measure followed by us and reverse bias so info advised you should have around points 6.7 hold and reverse by should be open or o l but keep in mind if there are other components across that diodewhile you are measuring it you will get in a inaccurate measurement

    • @Joeelectronicschematicsforauto
      @Joeelectronicschematicsforauto Рік тому

      Try to take the diodeout of the circuit to measure it more accurately and I assume we're talkin about a silicone diode not a germanium or LED that's why when you measure the diodes in the alternator it's not always accurate

    Question, I'm replacing my ebike motor pcb board.
    The replacement has 7 holes/copper rings for wiring. Bu my original has 6 - 5V, GND, SP, H1, H2, and H3.
    The replacement has an additional ring for wiring labeled "K". What does K stand for in this case? Keyswitch, ohms, resistance? Can't find any information or diagrams online.
    And if I solder/connect the "regular" wires, will I have a problem if I leave "K" unsoldered?
    No info online + could use the help.

      Don't worry too much. If it got destroyed by overvoltage, repairing it will at least be a major challenge. Not everything will be right out destroyed. Could also be a chain reaction and one bad part destroys several others. Even worse if it's a part running some kind of program, as they can't be recovered or bought like that.

I am however able to explain to you how to download an investing app, how to link my digital money with the app, and how to instantly supply money to the stock market. Yet as a professional accountant I cannot even begin to explain what and how it is made possible to transact at such a speed. So I am watching this video to develop new skills.

    I just did this for fun with a board and the majority of the board was giving me 650, 960, 1400 etc. what does that mean

      Usually numbers dictate designing manufacturing and component sizes different surface Mount components for the smallest components possible

      @@Joeelectronicschematicsforauto ohh ok i understand. I was fixing Bluetooth speaker for my friend cuz charging port broke off. The red light that indicates it’s charging would turn on whenever I pressed it onto the pads but right when I soldered it on I saw the red light slowly dim out and didn’t come back on. Now If I put the negative lead anywhere on the board and touch the light itself with positive the light will come on. Battery isn’t even plugged in too lol

    Yeah, but the board should be energized in order to find a failed component.

    Shouldnt touch anythbg with metal tip ... ic chips .. use plastic tip

      This is just a scrap board to demonstrate if this would be a real board you will need a ground strap a ground Matt you would ground the solder and everything else besides the metal tip because mosfet technology is very sensitive

      But I don't want to go too deep into it because the average person watching is not going to go and buy instruments and troubleshoot a put the circuit board that's complex like this

    That is not a single sided board. Single sided have traces on only one side. That is a double sided.

      A double sided board means the board also that has the components on the other side you have traces on every board but that doesn't mean you have the components on the other side what that does is you're saving space by making the board much smaller like your cell phone board

    Those are Tantulm caps, not electrolytic caps

      Yes electrolytic capacitors have polarity obviously other capacitors do not but through hole and surface mounts are a little I was probably off pointing to other components thank you so much
