Do you think the Prequels would have been better with Maul as the primary Sith apprentice instead of Dooku?

I think dooku and maul should have lived till episode 3, then killed them off in episode 3 by anakin, and it could show his power growing. Also see anakin's eyes flicker from normal to sith.
