Crossbody bags…from my cold dead hands. I refuse to be burdened. Walking hands-free makes me feel safer. Why women would want to be weighed down is a mystery to me. Watch the crossbody bag stay on as long as women need bags. Also, that strap across an outfit is part of the outfit. I choose my crossbody bags carefully, along with whatever else I’m gonna wear.
I hear you Antonia - I won't stop wearing mine either but as i mentioned I have a couple that can be worn in different ways so I can mix it up a little x
Every 'Influencer' I follow, features cross-body bags, still. Top-handle is having a moment, because of the 'Quiet Luxury' and 'Ladylike' trends, but cross-body will always be around.
@@Thestyleinsider. Thanks. It's funny, I have been collecting bags for some 45 years now and I have some beauties. But all the non-crossbody bags are on the highest shelves -- and I doubt they're coming down. I really think this trend is gonna die a fast death because, judging from comments I see on other FW24 trend videos, we ain't gonna take it.
I'm fairly tall 5ft 9 and I always wear chunky jewellery. I never wear dainty, delicate jewellery. I just think it 'gets lost' on me. I much prefer something big and bold and statement.
Maybe because I live in the west coast, but I didn’t realize boat shoes ever went out! lol. More so in style for men than women but I see those everywhere always
I agree, but I think they're more in Northern Cal and also states north on The Pacific West Coast and also more for men than women as I've always seen them for men. Greetings from Los Angeles
I fully believe that boat shoes are going to be back for a while. Simply because they are practical, and go with everything. Ive never understood the waterfall cardigan thing. It's too weird for me. But Im OK with longer cardigan, especially with bootcut or flared jeans. Its always look.
I love boat shoes. I have two pair from Sperry. I have one that is a tennis shoe and one that is a traditional boat shoe in a light gray leather. They are so comfortable. I’ll always wear my Sperrys.😊
I bought several cropped jackets this summer for Fall and will wear them a long time because IM short amd shor waisted amd they look better than long blazers on me.
Every time i wear white, i get a stain on it, without fail. I'll be admiring the white denim skirts from afar. 😂 Agree that on trend or not, most women won't be giving up those cross body bags.
Many business casual offices won't allow sneakers/trainers but will allow top siders/boat shoes. Always looking for good flat, comfy options....loafers it is lol
I love my shackets and I'm going to carry on wearing them. I do like the look of the short, cropped jackets but I feel the cold a lot and like to layer. And I don't like the look of a jumper sticking out the bottom of a shirt jacket. The beauty of a shacket is that it is long enough to cover the underlayers.
I look forward to your videos! Love ‘em! “Trend” just means what is currently most popular. Some items like those waterfall cardigans, shackets, and moon bags are dating to a particular time but other items are timeless and can be assets to personal style even when not trending. I personally want to create my own flattering looks and to have a style that people would associate with me but which is tweaked and refreshed as time marches on.
I never liked nor had waterfall cardigans. But midi chunky runway cardigan, that I still have left from Chanel , in my closet, this gorgeous pink color from 2017 cosmopolite collection , I will definitely going to wear with my slip dresses 😜🤪 I don’t know how I feel about maxi denim. I have one a line from Margiela , I probably will still wear, but definitely have more nicer skirts, those wrap ones with high slit, from old Celine . I have a question do you re wear dresses just maybe changing accessories. My problem that I love dresses, but it’s harder to wear them, not repeating .. especially maxi form fitting dresses. I bought Prada white cotton gabardine dress 6 months ago. Haven’t worn yet, of course it was too hot, it’s still is in South Fl 🤪 it’s very maxi has tale( which is ok on runway, but in real life 😳) it’s not much you can style it different, well just accessories …. It’s simple , cause it is white ( like shirt dress), but it’s not open all the way. Shapes over body amazing, but of course it’s rememberable as well. Ah not sure kind of regretting. I could got one of those gorgeous colorful Prada silk midi skirts with high slit. So could be styled so many ways… Do you have these type of dresses and how do you make them different ? Should I keep ? What would you do ?😜😝 Have a blessed day🙏❤️
Had both regular denim and white maxi. Didn’t wear either. Got rid of already. Didn’t like boat shoes first time around. No thanks. Picked up a gorgeous pair of Frye boots. Love!
In NYC, I wouldn't carry a handbag. Seriously, my life would depend on it. I am not even wearing my crossbody bags much. The sling bag, with the bag facing the front, tends to be my go-to, and I see them everywhere. Also, with long feet, I look like a clown wearing pointed-toe shoes,. Unfortunately, there are very few round-toe shoes out there. I get by with square toes. Some trends can be incorporated into your life, but the final word is you wear what works for you. I like minimal and edgy with a couple trends incorporated. Very interesting video!
I'm not even sure when waterfall cardigans were even in - 10+ years ago? I tossed mine a few years back - they were VERY aging. Crossbody purses are not going to be replaced very easily. I've worn one of mine for 4 years now. The only challenge is finding one that is big enough to fit everything you need, and not too big to hang all over you. You can take away skinny jeans or crossbody's - not both! Lol. I bought some white boat shoes this season - a little too late to wear them much this year, but I'm confident they'll be fine for next year.
You just ripping my Fall thrifted wardrobe apart. From boat shoes to the cardigans/oversized blazers, that I thrifted these past few months. I did invest in retail purchasing an off-white maxi denim skirt from Anthropology for $60, it took me 3 trips to finally decide to spend that kind of cash on this skirt (I will have to wear heels or tick soles with it because it so long). I have chunky necklace that I favor because my neck is so thick, but I do have some single chains but don't really wear them but may be this year I will. I added another cowboy boot I thrifted yesterday and it brown/cream so totally looking forward to sporting before snow time. One thing I like about my age I wear wat I like because it taken years for me to develop my style, and I want to have fun and I'm pretty thick skinned so other opinion doesn't matter but always open to suggestions.
Hello Leonie, I always agree with your fashion advice. I will say I do love my maxi denim Mango skirt it almost drags on the floor. I do need a white one. Lol! My friend has a beautiful store, GIRLBOY in Kingston NY and I have 2 longer cashmere cardigans from her store, they are so cozy. I feel like they are a alternative to a coat. Crossbody bags are so great because you have free hands when shopping that whsts great about them. I do switch up my bags often.
You denim maxi sounds great. I definitely won't be parting with mine. I have a couple of longer cashmere cardis too and love them. If I'm wanting to look a little more fashion forward this year I will opt for something a little more cropped but I'll never part with my beautiful cardis xx
I swear I don’t know why I continue to watch this woman. I really like the content, outfit ideas from the shows and street wear. I’ve yet to watch a video where she doesn’t throw an insult. I think I’ll just watch it on mute!
Recent pictures styling “duster” cardigans hitting below the knees - straight fit, not waterfall - have inspired me to work them into rotation with my cropped cardigans as soon as the weather cools.
Dear Ms Leonie, Being petite, not tall....I assure you that you " hit the target " with me; I agree with EVERYTHING you mentioned and I thank you for mentioning them out loud...some ladies out there may need guidance and...you are THERE for THEM! I like boat shoes.. I've recently gotten on the long denim skirt trend.. they work for me especially in winter.. keeping me warmer as I don't wear pants.. as long as they don't have the thigh high slit.. not a fan of that! I think it's all in the styling, the balance.. I'm never " on trend" but I do have all my fitted classic blazers so... good on me!😃
Boatshoes were expensive, durable and good for the feet. Nowadays you can put in shock-absorbers too. 10000 times better than those childish balet flats and similar completely un-foot-friendly rinventions. Im subjective.
Boat shoes “topsiders” now come with memory foam insoles! I have several low profile sneakers but recently added a pair of boat shoes to my collection.
I agree with you. She’s forgetting that they make really great tennis shoes. I have a pair with like leather laces. I also have a leather pair of Sperrys the original boat shoe that I wear when I go to the lake.
I am surprised to hear about the boat shoes that "they will be here for a year, because there are many other options, e.g. trainers". Boat shoes are classic shoes for normal attire, and they have been around for 120 years exactly in the same shape. Trainers are for training, not for proper outfits, at least not for elegant people. Trainers will not substitute boat shoes -at least, not in Europe where I live.
I do have smaller purses and crossbodies (which I only use for traveling or venues where they don’t want larger bags). However, I totally prefer purses that are 13-14” wide.
My husband sails a lot so he lives in his boat shoes… what they’re meant to be: for a boat. I’d never wear them for anything else. But then again, I’d never wear a tennis dress or skirt as an outfit off the tennis court or gym clothes as an outfit.
I love a good chunky statement piece of jewelry. But just one per outfit. I think a great statement piece is really always in! So glad classic blazers are replacing those goofy oversized blazers. Just thought they were very unflattering. There will always be a place for crossbody bags as they are simple so functional!
For some bodytypes they are the only Cardigans wich Look good. I can not wear boxy fits. I wish I could but i Look so weird on me because I am a soft dramatic.
I did the denim skirt when I was young never doing it now and those boat shoes are very ugly. You are right on with all these items. Love your videos 🦋

I never liked cross-bodies, the strap cuts into the base of my neck painfully- they’re usually thin, too, which makes it worse. I like a small to medium shoulder bag, in genuine leather.
Boat shoes are just ugly. A simple pearl is elegant & timeless. Not sure I could pull off a denim maxi as a larger petite. Enjoying my Songmont Luna as well.
I'm so disappointed that oversized blazers, are on their way out. At 5 ft 9, for the last few years I've been able to buy blazers that are broad enough on the shoulders, with sleeves that are long enough and plenty of room to layer underneath. I'm dreading going back to the fitted blazers where the sleeves are always too short, the sleeves are often too narrow to be able to layer anything underneath and the shoulders are often too tight but then if you size up you could fit a cushion down the front where the body is too big.
Good riddance to enormous oversized blazers, shackets and long, frumpy waterfall cardigans. There is nothing half so good as a classic blazer, I love them. It was a relief to finally find some new ones this season, I waited for years and years, but now I’m buying blazers again.
You’re shockingly contradictory, a must have is now frumpy ? Leone girlfriend,we can’t waste our money...show us ways to style clothes that are becoming outdated. Boat shoes are an a classic, unfortunately.
She is not making us buy anything. She is giving her opinion. YOU decided what works for you… give me a break… everyone on here is a different body type
lol! The cardigan makes women look frumpy? But not the shapeless oversized potato sacks half of those were wearing?? And the other half need to put a shirt on. You can’t go to work in a cropped cardigan, half unbuttoned with no shirt on . Well…guess that may depend on where one works, but I do think most of us aren’t working a corner.
Like boatshoes better than mules🫣White bottoms are not for me… they get dirty to easily.. as I have a wide foot.. round footware is better for my toes 🎈 I don’t follow trends but follow my feeling of, what suits my blocky body shape 🎉
Crossbody bags…from my cold dead hands. I refuse to be burdened. Walking hands-free makes me feel safer. Why women would want to be weighed down is a mystery to me. So true!
Bought a new cross body bag today! Just so practical and I love being hands free.

@@d.y.e3803 ah yeah, the Pacific West Coast. I’m in Vancouver
I love chunky jewellery, I have been rocking the cheap and chunky for years. I think it adds to a plain outfit
Yes it does!
I adore boat shoes. Wear them since Forever 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Fair enough too!
Boat shoes are classic imo 😊
Can't stand boat shoes myself.
the boat shoes i wore in the 80s were ..... brown with whits soles , not chunky.....

Love, love, love denim skirts! Skipping boat shoes definitely 😅

I used to wear those waterfall cardi's. My fashion sense has come a long way since then. I think boat shoes are hideous. Small purses rock!
Ginger Berry jewelry is pretty

I think colored trainers will go out before the classic boat shoe. And I’m here for it.

I have several pairs of boat shoes/ loafers, and have had them for years. 💜
Love oversize blazers, i have found couple of mens blazers thrifting and they’re good materials and I like the look.

Absolutely agree on the round-toe shoes. The square-toe ones that look so sophisticated are nowhere to be found in stores around here, unfortunately.
In NYC, I wouldn't carry a handbag. Seriously, my life would depend on it. I am not even wearing my crossbody bags much. Perfect!!!
For someone with a "tummy" think that the longer cardigans are more forgiving for that but not the waterfall ones they do look dated.
I’ll be wearing my stacker all season. They are comfortable ! I wear size 11 shoe. Pointed shoes make my feet look huge!
I am surprised to hear about the boat shoes that "they will be here for a year, because there are many other options, e.g. trainers". Agree. That is one trend I avoided.
There are some that are not so heavy and have a little stretch which I always find easier to wear!

If you have a tiny foot and you’re wearing wide leg pants perhaps - also good to see a little shoe/foot poking out!!
Idk, but they have been for years now. Like Ugg’s. Barney the dinosaur feet. We see you coming from ten miles away! Well, not you, but your FEET!

Omg...she's giving advise not orders.
I don’t like Mom jeans or animal print pants sorry
Tennis shoes (or trainers, as you call them) with dress clothes??? What’s happening? That looks awful!
What season is in New Zealand 🇳🇿 ❓
We are currently in Spring but the weather has other ideas - it still feels like Winter :(
Like boatshoes better than mules🫣White bottoms are not for me… they get dirty to easily.. as I have a wide foot.. round footware is better for my toes 🎈
I don’t follow trends but follow my feeling of, what suits my blocky body shape 🎉
