I've wondered whether most flags are made from layered pieces or sewn bits... With the more complex ones, of course. Tri- and bicolors are dead simple.
Maully Maulana Prawira American? There is 45 countries in America. Hundreds of cities and states with their own flag. Be more specific. American = Between the northernmost point in Canada, to the southernmost point in Chile.
@@GhostGuy764 Hahaha. If it's freedom you seek, the USA is not the place. Also, if you say "American flag" in the USA, most people know what you mean. But the USA is only 4 percent of the world. "US flag" gets more traction elsewhere. ;-)
When you sew the hem it looks like it messes up the geometry of the lines? You can see what I mean if you pause at 4:17 before the flag is getting flipped over. Is this "fixed" later somehow or is that what it looks like in the end?
Also because of the way the fabric overlaps at the seams you can see 1:22 the red segment that forms part of the saltire is noticeably thinner on one side of the flag. Do you do some sort of applique type thing to fix this or do you just live with it?
I believe that it's just what it looks like in the end. The reverse side of a flag isn't as important as the front, and (at least with the hems) a visible half-inch difference isn't going to cause a problem at a flag's scale.
@@Harry78996 because i want a pride flag and i can sew. also i don't like the material of the storebought flags. I needed insight on how to do a felled seam and this video was helpful.
I would watch an entire series of y'all just stitching together worldly, interesting and otherwise obscure flags. I would watch the shit out of that

Hi, can you make a video about sewing the Icelandic flag? It would be very interesting to see.
This is why they are expensive...it's all hand stitched. I don't think there's a machine to replicate this fine detail
Cool flag
This is a great video thank you, I learned a lot and this will help me for making my own flags.

Hi can one help 10/6 meter national flags
What type of fabric are you using for this flag?
Dylan Assael Traditionally made all the individual pieces cut and sewn so I’d say a heavyweight canvas type material something like Burlap/Hessian.
Looks like either cotton bunting (traditional flag material) or polyester.
Woven polyester 155gsm
Are these flags G-Grade? I am assuming this is a 2:1.
Are Welsh flags ever made in this manner?
