Hi Pablo, you lost your details in the last part when importing the scaled object and rescaling it in ZBrush. You can see the details disappearing when you apply the layer 45:40. I think the import/export options can fix it, or you can invert the scaling before export in Blender. I like to warn people to be cautious when messing around with scale in ZBrush because the only way to avoid traps is to be meticulous.
Thanks Pablo to share your tricks & knowledges in Zbrush! Me gustaría también ver tus contenidos en lengua hispana para los que se limitan a aprender ,por la barrera del idioma.Gracias de nuevo🖖🤓
This trick is amazing! Best workflow for posing and maintaining multires sculpting! I am, however, having a lot of difficulty trying to figure out how to effectively use this trick with multiple subtools. You suggested using Transpose Master, but it isn't really working for me... It would be amazing if you could do a follow-up video with a step-by-step tutorial for using Mixamo and layers to pose a mesh with multiple subtools?? Please 🙏😁

Yeah for sure. I'm actually working on a new series with a much more efficient way that is a lot of fun. stay tuned!
You should do a tutorial just like this but using AccuRIG instead of Mixamo. From the few videos I've seen AccuRIG does a better job. Also maybe pose a more complex character with multiple Subtools just my .02

Mil gracias 👌😉
Hola Pablo, excelente video, me ayudó bastante.

Hey Pablo, thanks for the tutorial, fantastic as always! Anyway the posing outside of ZBrush method could be applied to a model that has multiple subtools?
Hi Pablo, thanks for your video. But I had problem with import into layers. I lost the subdivision. In fact, the problem came from the polygroups. It works when i export the Tpose without polygroup. After import/export from Blender, I find the subdivisions after import into layers. Is there maybe an option in blender to manage multi groups for export ?
Рік тому
I'm no sure about the Blender options but maybe you could try using the Tpose for all the subtools?
did you try using Blender to make poses with rigify? I fount it much easier to make the pose you want but for some unknown reason, you cant import the model back into Zbrush with out losing your subdivisions, do you know what the problem could be?
Pablo, Thank you so much for this lesson! Liked, subscribed and sharing the link in discord servers I'm currently in. If you were starting a new sculpt would you do all the attachments (extras) for the character before doing the mixamo pose method or after? it almost seems like it could be done either way with this method you came up with. I had no idea layers could be so powerful.

thanks mate! yeah, either way... I personally would prefer to build everything first but depending on how extreme the pose is, it might be more efficient to sculpt and model an asset after the pose
This is incredibly helpful. I had a question about another topic. How do you go about establishing proportions in Zbrush while blocking out a character ?
Scaling level 0 is not something I'd recommend since it warps/blurs your upper level details. You can change the size after you import the new level 0, preferably on a separate layer too.
@@Felix-os5hf I wasn't able to try it out because I keep going back and froth dynamesh ing and zremeshing this doesn't work with layers. I tried the stager method of "all to home" and then "all to pose" but that just messes up everything. I'm currently at the texturing stage and might then try a simple rig in blender and then parent the subtools to the parts or just pose manually with tpose master. Let me know if you find a good way to do it.
@@TimV777 Hey, theres a 'layer' button on the transpose master that you can select and it will create a new layer on each subtool containing the new pose data. You can then hide this layer and sculp on the old symmetrical layer and then when you unhide it keeps the sculpting you did. I think think is how it works and not sure if its what you were asking, im really new to zbrush :)
I've followed this video exactly and tried cinem4d as well as blender but the import back into Zbrush does not work. I always encounter an error window
13:21 you're showing the tedious way, why? The easiest way is with the gizmo activated for multiple subtools You must make a Ctrl+Shift Lasso selection for the subtools you wanna move and Ctrl+Shift+Alt for those you don't wanna move. Easy.
@Pablo Muñoz Gómez Every time i take my model to a low sub.D level my layers stop recording and mess up my model.
Рік тому
if you start recording on the highest subdivision level and then go to a lower level they layer will continue to be in recording mode but 'greyed out' until you get back to the highest subdivision level in which you started to record.
The select lasso trick alone makes this video worth it. Thanks alot.
You are a life saver... I never thought about masking then rotating. I was being dumb and trying to select and then rotate
I tried to find a solution to this problem for years! I Thought it was not possible in ZB, Thanks, you rocks
Glad you find it useful!
This is Gold, thanks Pablo.
my pleasure
man this kind of content its out of this world so much quality in here thank you!!!

great stuff! thank you so much ☺️
Easy way to deal with multiple subtools, is mask, group mask, merge. If you want after posing then you can split to groups.
Been looking for a video like this, thank you.
This video is so extremely useful! thank you!!
You're so welcome!
When i import the mesh i loose the layer and all subdivid :( my mesh are exactly the same Any idea? thank you so much
The same happens for me.
Dude I love you.
thank you man!!!!

Excellent tutorial Pablo, thanks!
How would you go about a clothed character or a character with subtools such as eyes and teeth for instance?
It shouldn't make a difference, for the purpose of this workflow a mesh is a mesh regardless of the shape
Did it work for you with multiple subtools? if not, did you happen to find a method that worked for you?

How to do a quick Dynamesh to subdivision without using the project history option?
Tutorial coming ;)

Wonder if the same can be done with a character that is separated into many subtools.
Yeah you can, you just need to do it through the Transpose Master
Can i also export all my subtools together and pose it in mixamo and import it back in zbrush and still have all the subtools details?
Yeah you should be able to do that. Just follow the same workflow from the video but use the transpose master to send and receive the posed model
Can we use tpose master along with the layers method to sculpt with symmetry after posing? Or does it only work with a single subtool 🤔
Was also wondering this, did you find out?

Make sure you're exporting as an obj and importing it back as an obj as well.
For some reason when I import the posed model, all subdivitions are lost. Does anyone has Any tips? thx!
I also lose the subdivisions.
Pablo, would you please add subtitles for this old one?
on it... check again in a couple of days
@ Thank you, that's great news to Non-English users.
OK, subtitles ON, thank you, Pablo.
What if you have to make your own pose, not found in mixamo?
check out my most recent video series about Accurig ;)
