Only 8 minutes but it was a Jim Manthorpe 8 minutes. Gleanne Dubh/Black Glen never looked so magical on your way up. The drone shots of the Morven landscape are superb, thank you for coming up with 'Plan C'.
Another lovely video, all of it, though I will say that the drone shot looking down through the tree's bare branches (37 seconds in) as you stride along the snowy track was especially well imagined and executed. If the Spring arrives in the UK from the SW, and advances at 1-2 mph, it looks as though it will be a long time reaching you! As the rest of us to your south sit outside pubs and cafes, or photograph butterflies (I took my first yesterday), you are the nation's man in search of winter, proper elemental dangerous winter. By-the-by, do you know Edward Thomas' 'In Pursuit of Spring'? A 1913 bicycle journey, London to the Quantocks, and late Winter to Spring, through the very peopled rural landscape of pre-WW1 England, with a very sensitive observer. Unobtrusively, Thomas brings in his doppelganger, just as the camera is your doppelganger, seeing you seeing.
Thanks Roy. An eloquent response as always. I love the winter months although I prefer them when they are cold and crisp, not damp and grey. By the time February comes along I'm usually hankering after some warmer weather and I'm definitely looking forward to the longer daylight hours. I've noticed just this week the robins and song thrushes singing so there are fleeting hints of spring. No, I've not come across 'In Pursuit of Spring'. I'll look it up. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your videos Jim. They are artistry and poetry, and they express so well the beauty of the Scottish landscape and the relationship of one man with that stunning land and sky. I always look forward to your beautiful creations, and share them with others. Thank you!
This is very enjoyable. Am I right to say that 0.09 - 0.17 is the path in the Rahoy Hills that you walked up in your video from November, " Autumn hike in Scotland " ? Keep up the great work , it's appreciated.
Signature Jim Manthorpe. Nobody does it better. Top man.
ahh, thanks Mark. Very nice of you to say!

Thanks! It was great to have so much snow at low levels. Amazing how quickly it melted. This was all gone 48hrs later. Temperatures of +10C!

Wow, outstanding cinematography my friend! Such a soothing and inspiring presentation!
Thank you. Not quite as dramatic as some of the other mountains I've filmed but it's a beautiful area in its own way I think.
So with nature. Not only a skilled mountaineer, also skilled in drone use.
Thanks. It was good to have one day where the winds weren't gale force as they have been recently!

Thank you so much. Lovely comments. I'm always trying to make the landscape the main character in my films. It's good to know that that comes across.
Nice to see familiar ground from new angles. The winter woodland shots were especially beautiful.
Thanks Steve. An area you know better than anybody. Wish. I had made it as far as Beinn Iadain but it was very slow going in that snow.
So beautiful and tranquil Jim, lovely editing and brilliant drone work, a pleasure to watch.👍
Thanks Frank. Was good to get out in the snow. Not often we get so much at low levels on the west coast. It's all gone now!
Absolutely wonderful! Thank you Jim 👍
Thanks for watching :-)
I love this! It is magical and beautiful. I feel like I am there. Amazing videography. The drone shots are incredible.
Thanks so much Sharon! Been enjoying your music too - a lot.
Incredible 👌🏻👍🏻 superb videography, loved the drone work following you walking through the snow ❄️ 👏 👍🏻
Was pleased how that shot turned out :-) thanks for watching!

@@Jim_Manthorpe-hiking yes Jim they are brilliant videos 💯✌️
Niiiice 👍
An area I've never been in the winter , let alone up a hill..
Wild and remote looking, you made it look amazing 👍
It's fairly unexplored except by locals. Beautiful, peaceful area. Also a Scottish Wildlife Trust reserve: Rahoy Hills.
@@Jim_Manthorpe-hiking I thought you were staying longer in the Kintail area ?
Weather hasn't been so good. will head back there at some point.

Well spotted! Yes that shot corresponds to 5.23-5.50 in the autumn film. Interesting to compare across the seasons. Thanks for your support :-)
