Aweee, Hubby did great job modeling! The shirt was a perfect choice for that fabric!🎉🎉
A shirt for Chris was the perfect choice for that fabric!
It was wasn't it, that fabric looked awful on me 😂. Thanks for watching 🧵😊
Beautiful make Carole, handsome model 👏👏
What a great result perfect use of that fabric Carole
Carole, a great choice! It suits his coloring, so very well. ☃ Bernadette
Thank you so much, it looks much better on him doesn’t it! 🧵😊
That shirt looks great on your husband. Loved the tease at the beginning and your husband’s reluctant modelling too 😁
Thank you so much, that shirt just looked dreadful on me so I am so glad I didn’t make something for me with it. Poor Chris, he was frozen filming that catwalk 🧵😊
What a great shirt! Chris will enjoy wearing it and you will enjoy looking at it. Win, win! 😊-Deborah
Your husband's shirt looks great! I'm sure he'll get lots of wear out of it. Looking forward to your next make!❤😊
With you throwing your chosen fabric across your shoulders it makes me think a cowl neck top would look nice. Short or cap sleeve if you are short of fabric because of cowl. Another good video.
That's what I was thinking! A cowl neck top for the next fabric.
Thanks so much for your comment and idea. I may have a cowl neck pattern in my stash so I will take a look! Have a good week 🧵😊
Another vote for a cowl neck, now that has got me thinking! Thanks for watching 🧵😊
Love the shirt you made for your husband, it really suits him.
And I also love the new fabric chosen by the Wheel of Fate.
I have fabrics in my stash that I've either fallen out of love with or that I've had for a while and now don't know what to make - I might have to join you in the #fabricwheeloffate !
That shirt looks fantastic on Chris! Good job 👏 K xxx
Chris looks great in the shirt! I’m inspired - I have a similar camp shirt style pattern for my husband, I need to make it up! Thanks Carole! Xx
Lol, you 😅had me going for a minute. It’s a great men’s shirt. You got me 😂😂. I love the fabric and it looks fantastic on your husband. Great job. 👍🏼
Fabulous shirt your husband looks great as if it was made for him congratulations you did great a good job 😊😊😊😊
Ha ha thanks so much, he loves his shirt and now is waiting for Summer to wear it! 🧵😊
Great looking shirt. A win for you and a win for Chris!
Thank you so much, he loves his shirt and it would have been awful on me so as you say, a win win! 🧵😊
The shirt is fabulous, and Chris is a good sport.
Thanks so much, he didn't do badly did he! 🧵😊
I've used that NL pattern three times for my husband! It's a great pattern! Love that shirt for the guys! And it fits your husband so well !!! Ten stars! And Chris, good job modeling!
It is a really good pattern isn't it, I have used it a few times for Chris as well. I made an ACDC fabric shirt for him a couple of years ago! I will pass on the modelling comments to Chris, thank you! 🧵😊
The shirt.
You made for Chris turned out beautiful! Well done.
Thank you so much, we just need the Summer now so he can wear it! 🧵😊
Hahaha, you got me! I thought, “She must be going to use that as a beach coverup!” I love that fabric, it looks great as a man’s shirt.
My friend in Canada, Shari Knight, her channel is called Practical Stitches, also has an online fabric shop called Menz Fabrics, specializing in fabric for men’s garments. She has some for women also, though. I was hoping the wheel would tell you to sew up that pink plaid, I’m anxious to see the end result of that! Have a great week and Happy Sewing!
Yay, Carole! It looks great! Chris is such a good sport! 💗
Thanks Andra, he looks so much better in it than me 😂. Hope you are well 💗😘💗
The holiday shirt looks great on Chris. Hes got good modeling skills! I was thinking YOU CANT BE SERIOUS when you put that shirt on you and it was ginormous!😅. You tricked us! I like the challis fabric. I thinknit would make a nice blouse for valentines date night!!!❤❤❤❤
Hi Carole! You look adorable wearing Chris’ shirt! He did a fine job modeling. You always make perfect decisions on patterns and fabrics! I do love the #fabricwheeloffate. Thank you for allowing us to join in. ❤️ Diann 🍓 7:46
Thanks Diann, honestly it was awful on me and I thought people would guess straight away 🤣. I love that you are enjoying the Fabric Wheel but I will admit I am absolutely stumped on this next fabric as it looks so awful against my skin 😱. Let’s hope I can come up with something soon. Hope you are feeling a little better ❤️🍓
Hi Carole, The shirt looks so summery. What a lovely make for a casual warm weather outfit. Looks fab with jeans and will look great with shorts too. Your husband looks good in it and the colours suit him. Love your fabric wheel of fate! Will definitely join in next you do it. Have a great week 💕
Hi Clare, thanks so much for watching. I am so glad I chose to use that fabric for him rather than me. Roll on Summer eh?! Now onto the next fabric and I have no idea yet what to make. I would love for you to join in the wheel series, it is such a fun way of challenging yourself to use up unloved fabrics! 🧵😊
@ I will definitely join you on this challenge. It might take me a week or so to get sorted first - tomorrow morning I have to start moving everything out of my sewing room ready to have a wall taken out 😱. My lovely husband is letting me take over our dining room until it’s all finished. It will probably take 2 months before it’s completed but it will be worth it in the long run. I’m going to do some before, during and after footage… consequently I might not get much sewing done this week… wish me luck! 💕
@ oh my goodness, you will be sewing in an upheaval for a while! At least you have another room to go to. Sounds like from what you say the end result will be worth it. Good luck with the move!
@ Thank you! It won’t be perfect as our dining room is open plan with our kitchen so all my fabrics will have to be bagged up to avoid smells/light etc. But I’ll manage till it’s done. Happy sewing💕
Hi Carole, the shirt for Chris is brilliant it really suits him. The top you are wearing is really nice as well, another blue that will go with lots. Looking forward to the next make, thank you ☺
Thanks so much Babbra, we just need the warmer weather now don't we! That blouse I was wearing was another fabric wheel win, it really does make me sew good things. Have a good week 🧵😊
Wow! That shirt turned out great! Thanks to Chris for going out in the garden catwalk. He looks fab in it. And you did trick me! I was like, Carol, you never wear big baggy things! What's up! LOL - nice bit of trickery.
I will pass on your thanks to Chris! I did have fun trying that shirt on and was trying not to give the game away when I described what I had sewn 😂. Thanks for watching 🧵😊
It suits him so well!!!
Thanks so much, I will pass that on! 🧵😊
You have so encouraged me to sew❤. I’m in my eighties and I’m really enjoying using up the fabric from my stash. Thank you soooo much!
Oh my goodness your comment has made me so happy, good luck and thanks so much for watching 🧵😊
What a great shirt for Chris! I have the same issue with finding a print that leans masculine for Charlie. I think we have all fallen for fabric that looks nice.
Your husband was too cute! Great modeling job!
Aww thank you, he is going to love all these comments 😂. Thanks for watching 🧵😊
So hilarious seeing you in the shirt. Go Chris, great job modeling. I'm sure he will enjoy wearing the shirt. I look forward to seeing what you make out of that next fabric. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you didn’t mind me fooling you, it just looked awful on me didn’t it 😂. Thanks so much for watching and I’ll pass on your comments to Chris 🧵😊
Wow. What a perfect idea for your fabric. Chris looks amazing in his new shirt. Very stylish. My hubby thinks it looks great too.😁 I see blouses with ties at the neck (I had a couple in the late 70’s/early 80’s) and can picture your next make in the grey fabric in that style. Not sure if it would appeal to you. I’m sure you will come up with a great idea. Good luck and we’ll see when you are done.😁
Haha! You got me - I was horrified when I saw you in the shirt but it looks great on Chris. 😊
Oh that's funny! I am glad I fooled a few people if only for a minute or two. Thanks so much for watching and your kind comment 🧵😊
I love the shirt, it looks great. And I look forward to seeing what you do with the viscose
Thanks so much, I am still debating what to make with that fabric! Have a good week 🧵😊
I so love the shirt you’re wearing! The other shirt looks like excellent work, and I’m glad Chris liked it. It honestly looked at least one size too large for you! This week’s spin could be saved for a solemn occasion and worn with dark pants. (Unfortunately, we all have those funerals and such, that can’t be avoided.) I couldn’t tell if it was brown or black, or, even with light colored pants or jeans, for a happy occasion! Great to see you twice in a week!
Thank you so much, that top I was wearing was another Fabric Wheel win, it really does well for me! You are right about the fabric being quite formal and that is why I think I have avoided sewing it but now I have to, the wheel has spoken. Thanks for the ideas! 🧵😊
Shirt for Chris looks fantastic. Well done.
If you have New Look 6892 I think it would be perfect for the new fabric
Thanks Agata.
It's funny as I was looking at that NL pattern this morning along with another one. The fabric does look awful against my skin though so I'm trying to find a contrasting trim to edge it.
Have a good week 🧵😊
Hi Carole...what a perfect fabric/ pattern pairing. Chris's shirt is perfect.
I think a simple vest top might work for the latest fabric, but, obviously you will do you. Have a productive week.
Thanks Annette, he is so pleased with it and I so glad I used it for him rather than making something so-so for me. I never make vest tops, I never think to ?! Maybe I should! Thanks for watching 🧵😊
LOLOLOLOL! 🤣 Uh, yeah, you really had me going. I couldn't believe that you'd be happy with the fit of a shirt (assuming it was for you) that you were just swimming in. 😅 I was already trying to find a nice, gentle way of saying "Carole, you've got to be kidding!" when you said that it was a shirt for Chris. Good one, Carole!!! Chris looked very happy with his new shirt. Always nice to see his smiling face in your vids from time to time. Love your black & white WOF fabric choice. Yes, very classy and will look great on you, no doubt! Looking forward to seeing your creation. 🥰 Dori
Yay, I fooled you if only for a minute or two! You know me too well though not to make a baggy shirt like that. I was so pleased I managed to get him to model it for me, now we just need Summer for him to wear it. I am so excited for you to meet Trish this week and I know she is excited about it! Have fun and don't spend too much. xx💗
Love the shirt, and it looks great of your hubby! Perfect! When you had it on my first thought was to belt it, although I did wonder how you managed to make it that oversized for yourself! Good one--LOL. The next fabric is very nice. Can't wait to see what you make.
Love it . Looks good on Chris.
Thanks so much, he will be so pleased reading these comments! 🧵😊
Chris’s shirt looks great. You didn’t really fool me, I didn’t think you would wear such a baggy top. I checked out which side you had the buttons and that convinced me that it was for your husband 😀. I too think the black would look classy as a cowl neck. Happy sewing 🧵. Pat
Please tell Chris welcome to the 60's and he looks like a teenage high school boy with his hands stuck in his pockets and looking sheepish. And what a smile, looking at his Carole! It suits him. 😁❤
Ha ha he did look like a disgruntled teenager but in his defence he was absolutely frozen filming that 🤣. It was about 34f that day and the house was a mess so we had to do it outside. I can’t tease him too much about being 60 as it is my turn next year 😱. Thanks so much for watching my lovely friend xxx❤️
It's amazing the FWOF makes always turn out so good!! It's the magic of the Wheel, I suppose!
It really does magic things doesn't it...you wait now I have said that.. the next fabric will be a disaster 😂. Thanks for watching 🧵😊
Chris looks handsome in his new shirt Carole. I picked that pattern up for 50c at a charity shop over a year ago and 2 weeks ago I finally made it up in a lovely soft rayon fabric for my hubby. My first me made men's shirt and it fitted him beautifully. He loves it and is stoked that he can now have some great shirts without having to spend hours shopping and trying on fairly boring shirts. Men's fashion has become pretty boring the past few years and is often aimed at young men so now he can have a striking shirt whenever he wants. Great make Carole and some great runway work Chris.❤
Thanks so much Trudy, I will pass your comments onto Chris! He asks gets fed up clothes shopping as all shirts like you say tend to be aimed for the younger man and also Slim Fit which he hates! This pattern works well for him and glad it works for you too, what a bargain you got. Have a good week 🧵😊
Chris was such a good sport! I don’t think I could talk my husband into doing any modeling! 😜 The shirt looks great! 😊
Thanks so much Nancy! I am so glad I used the fabric for him rather than me and not really wear it. Now we just need some warm weather! Have a good week 🧵😊
The shirt is awesome and great job to Chris on the modeling 😂 I think the next fabric would look really good as a sleeveless shell type top. Would look so good with black jeans. Xx 💕
Thanks Izzy! Oh poor Chris was frozen when I asked him to do that, it was only 1c outside and the house was a mess 🤣. You could see he was trying to keep his hands warm at least! I am really stuck with this fabric as the minute I hold it up to my skin it looks awful, I am desperately trying to find some kind of trim. Hope you have a good week at work 🧵😊💕🧵
Chris' shirt is a work of art, Carole. Great job. You have a head start on a summer vacation wardrobe. I challenge you into using the next fabric and make up a pair of summery, flowy, wide leg trousers - kind of like palazzo pants. What do you think?
I love the fabric wheel of fate series, and the shirt is great 😊 the Donny Shirt would be nice in the viscose challis, and it goes well with jeans and shorts 😊
Thank you so much for your suggestion for the viscose. You aren't the only one that has mentioned the Donny and I had thought of that too! 🧵😊
Your huysband was such a good sport to model that fantastic shirt that you made for him. He looks good in it and you did a great job. Thanks for sharing. ❤🙂🙃🙂❤
Ha ha, he did take a little persuading but we got there in the end. His way of paying me back for all my hard work! Thanks for watching 🧵😊
Ha ha. As soon as I saw the buttons on the opposite way I guessed it was for hubby! Everyone seems to be making shirts lately. I have a different pattern for Keith's shirts as he likes a proper collar with a stand. I quite like that next fabric. Look forward to seeing what you make x
You clever girl! I would have never have thought of spotting that. Were you a detective in a previous life?! I also make Chris other shirts and have a great McCalls pattern I use with a collar stand, I think I also made one for my Dad! Thanks for watching 🧵😊
@@socarole66 I am very observant! The pattern I use is Kwik Sew 3422. You can make different collar sizes that go with any body size, so quite versatile.
With that fabric I would make a Grainline Scout Tee (or equivalent) - I'm sure you can find a Big 4/5 pattern in your stash that is similar.
Hi Carole, your husband’s shirt looks amazing on him, and what a good sport to model it for us. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much, I will pass on your comments to him! He was a good sport but did need some persuading 😂. Have a good week 🧵😊
The shirt came out perfect for Chris and the modeling was so cute! For a while I was wondering....what is she thinking (when you were modeling it) then I breathed a big sigh of relief and thought....you STINKER! It was fun though 😄
Lovely shirt…looks great…😊🇦🇺
Thanks so much for watching 🧵😊
Your husband is such a good sport…. 😊
The shirt turned out fantastic. I’m sure your husband will wear it a lot.
Thank you so much, we just need some warmer weather or a holiday for him to wear it! 🧵😊
He looks great in it! He's got a second career if he wants it 😉
Ha ha that is hilarious, I will certainly pass on your comment 😂. Thanks for watching🧵😊
I have made that shirt twice for my husband and son . I used Rose and Hubble cotton poplin so it was easy to sew with, however, I did find
the collar difficult and wonder if you encountered any problems. I would like to make it again so would welcome any advice !!!!
I really like the fabric you are about to use and look forward to seeing the end result .
That turned out really well ! Your husband makes a good model , now on to the next project !
Thanks so much, I will pass on your compliments to Chris. As you say, onto the next fabric argh!!! 🧵😊
Your husband is a good sport!
He is indeed! Thanks for watching 🧵😊
Great job on Chris’ holiday shirt - awesome! I see the black and white challis in a cowl neck blouse of some sort, something I could see you wearing whilst playing with your orchestra 😃
Thank you so much for your comment and suggestion for the next fabric. Colours appear very strange on camera and this fabric is kind of purple and pink. I don't think I would get away with that! 🧵😊
Wait…whoa! Did I hear you say you enjoyed doing the buttonholes? 😮 I’m petrified of doing buttonholes 😅 I thought you were going to snap your fingers and come back with a smaller version on😂 But what a fabulous model Chris is- he’s even got the moves! You know one of my wheel fabrics screams Hawaiian shirt, and I might just have to make that? Maybe you will do the buttons with me? 😂😂As always I’m loving this game and your results✨👍 I’m sure the challis will be fun to work with too! 💕💕
Great results for Chris!! Like the narrower collar, too. But I'd pass on the new spin--donate & let someone else love it! If you don't love the fabric, don't waste time sewing with it--OR use it for a toile for a new pattern!!
Hi Carole. love the fabric wheel of fate. Why don't you try dyeing the challis fabric to make it more your colour
Nice shirt.
Thank you so much for watching 🧵😊
The challis looks like it would coordinate with the pink/blk plaid twill on the wheel. (🤷🏼♀️It’s hard to tell true color online). Maybe make wide leg pants with the plaid, tee-type top with the challis, using bias plaid for neck and sleeve binding?
Love the shirt on your husband.
Thank you so much, he will be so pleased to hear that! 🧵😊
Chris looks great in his new shirt. I love sewing that style of shirt for my husband. He loves wearing them too. I think I have that pattern, but I've always sewn the Wardrobe By Me Tropical Shirt since the fit is spot on for my husband. Eventually I will try some other patterns, but I have some really nice quality fabric sitting around waiting to be sewn into shirts for him, so I don't want to try anything new for him with those fabrics and risk them not turning out well. I think I jinxed myself by sewing them, though. We went to Cuba every year and occasionally, Florida, and thought those shirts would be lovely for him to take along. We haven't gone back to Cuba (or anywhere for that matter) since I made the first one just after travel started up again post covid. Hmm. I wonder if there is a correlation?
Looks great with the jeans.
Thank you so much 🧵😊
Donny shirt or summer top with straps would look nice.
Thanks so much, the Donny had actually crossed my mind for it! 😊🧵
What a lovely shirt. Use your embroidery machine to add some colour to the new fabric.
Carole that shirt looks great, well done. I was wondering if you made the top that you are wearing by your measurements or by the finished garment measurements. I have the pattern myself and want to make it but my size has about 12 inches of ease, so I’m slightly terrified to make it 😂
I've made one for me and my husband, my hubby liked it so much he has requested a couple which will be ready by summer. Chrislooks very nice. This next fabric will be wonderful. What top are you wearing?
I keep saying I will make one of those shirts for me and I never do, this must be the year! Glad you are pleased with the pattern too. The top I am wearing was a Butterick one, I think I did say in the beginning so apologies if I didn’t. It was another successful fabric wheel make, Butterick 6632. Thanks for watching. 🧵😊
Love the men’s shirt! For the challis, would you ever consider dyeing it to a colour that you like better.
Thanks so much for your comment and an interesting suggestion about dyeing the fabric. I have never dyed a pattern fabric before so not sure if I would lose that design. Worth a thought though 🧵😊
I was worried for you for a moment when you had the shirt on. I didn't guess it was for Chris. It looks great on him and I loved seeing him model it for the video. Another great win! Is the new fabric purple? It's very nice draped on you and will be a lovely top. Can't wait to see as usual.
Thanks so much for watching and I am glad I foxed you, even if only for a couple of minutes! The new fabric is a kind of burgundy/dark purple with some pink. Now I need to get cracking and find something to make with it! 🧵😊
The Shellie could go as a cowl neck
Thank you so much for that suggestion, I will have a look to see what patterns I have. 🧵😊
When you tried on the shirt you made for your husband...I thought the size was very odd as you don't wear things that are large on you. It turned out very well
You are right, that just wouldn’t have been me at all being so baggy! Thanks so much for watching and your comment 🧵😊
Hi. I think I have new look 6197. I have been wanting to make this shirt, but I have not yet. It looks really good Carole.❤ Great modeling Chris❤
Thanks Zelda, I will pass on your comment to Chris! Grace loves this pattern too 💕
Poor ma you are naughty but i like you to quote dick emery 😂. It looks great. I can see this weeks fabric as a cami or blouse if u have enough ❤❤
