Demo reminded me of Metroid Dread's wherein it shows a small snippet (30-45 minutes, if that if you're a seasoned Metroid vet) so I agree it seemed short even for a demo, but I'm presuming this is a shorter game so maybe there wasn't a way to show off more.

That's because there's a lot of story but I think they could've stopped the demo a bit later
Believe me everyone would've gone crazy if the demo stopped after you solved the puzzle in the piano room and opened the secret door because by then you already found out some significant information about D and his family
