Called the bank this morning, they said they had $60 in halves- right in that sweet spot for a potential collection dump. I show up minutes later, and the teller again says $60, and heads back to the vault to get them. After a few minutes, she returns and says there was actually only $30, which she found “surprising”… “we must’ve sold the other $30.” So, I take what I can get and head home. Sure enough, one roll is fully clad. The next roll is fully 1964-D Kennedys, mostly mint state. Last roll is an even mix of Franklins and walkers. I’ve only been collecting for a few months now, so this is by far the most incredible score I’ve had. But… I’m convinced that the teller, once she went back to the vault, checked inside a roll and discovered what they had… so she kept 3 for herself, gave me a worthless clad roll plus two of the silver rolls. I’m just grateful to get what I got… but I think it could’ve been significantly better.
Btw, I’m so jealous you can casually check 50-60 banks… that’s like hundreds of miles radius for me lol

Well I am only able to do that while in NYC… so only a couple times a year. And usually I don’t get insane scores like that. Maybe a dozen silver coins or so.

I’ve found 10 rolls of 90 percenters at one sitting before, so after that you are a bit numb haha.At this point I would only freak out with a barber or seated half at this point.
I will mention though that at this point several months ago I had undiagnosed hypothyroidism… so that lowers your energy ALOT. So that was probably part of it as well. And I had walked 15 miles prior to the video 😅
Thats awesome! I used to live in NYC and no banks had half dollars, but one time in 2019 I went and the bank had $4 face, all of them were 1969 halves. I can say now that every half dollar I have gotten from the bank is silver lol
