I always try to find her reviews about a product I'm interested in, and only when I give up and make sure she hasn't did one, I go for other youtubers😄
Well that's a classy and clever design. Maybe not my kind of thing (I'm happy with my T450s with a 940m) but If I was in the market, I'd probably look at this. Thanks for the review, Lisa, and good job HP!
Wow your fast! Thank you Mobile Tech, I love your videos! I was just looking at these for school and trying to find a review (which I haven't watched yet) but wanted to say thank you for the prompt review first
I look at it more like you're trading performance for battery life. I feel like this is definitely more marketed towards professionals and execs who are constantly on the move and not always near a wall outlet.@@HeadToSoles
I forgot about this. I read/ watched about the new iPads and macbook airs, feeling slightly tempted. But then I watched Lisa's review and realise that here's a device that matches both the ipad and MBA, at the same time. I've tried to use the 10.5 ipad pro as a 'laptop alternative' but the file system makes you want to scream, as well as the fixed appearance of the fixed home screen with widely spaced icons...
Hey Lisa, I just calculated the price of the tablet (256GB version) + keyboard + pen configuration of the Surface Pro 6 and iPad Pro 2018, and they’re only $50 apart in price! ($1430 vs $1480) Never thought I’d see an iPad cost more than the Surface Pro, but here we are. Smackdown time?
I've been wanting this form factor again since the Sony! I'm glad I held off until now and thank you Lisa for a look at this beauty. Especially since I haven't seen a peep of this device anywhere else
Your videos are the best. Good clear photography that shows us what we need to see. Solid explanations and recommendations. Neither too long nor too short. And I was really curious about this product. And you gave me all the information I needed. Just great stuff.
Glad that you do not forget to tell the Sony Vaio Duo 13. I'm a fan of its design although not many manufacturers do it. I'm so happy that HP have innovated the design with new materials to have it perfect!. Wanting this laptop!!
Hi Lisa, I don't usually comment on UA-cam videos but your review was absolutely fantastic. Thank-you so much for such an informative review. It was a pleasure to watch 😊
So cool to see such product different from the others. To be honest I'm not watching every of you videos but every time I see something that stirs my curiosity I click :)
I like this design better than a normal 2 in 1 because you don't have to pick it up to flip between the laptop, tent, and tablet. Which when I switch on my Pixelbook I'm not holding it and I just put it back on the table.
Yes this is arguably the best 2-1 form factor. No need to lift up the device or to detach anything. This design is from Sony VAIO Flip back in 2013 which I have right now along side HP spectre x360. Still have to say it's the easiest to convert from a laptop to a tablet. I have no idea why every brand has gone after the Yoga design when clearly this is a lot more convenient (especially since Sony already left the market).
@@feaernista921 The Yoga style hinge is less expensive to make and is generally very robust. The short of hinge used on this HP and Vaio models of old are harder and more expensive to design and manufacture.
@@mobiletechreview aye also less robust, mine already broke twice now, once I lost any signal to the display due to bent display connectors, now the replacement had me unable to use the touchscreen when in tablet mode. IMO, a separated display-keybiard is easier to handle and cheaper to replace.
Nice review - was curious about this when I saw it on HP’s website as it looked a bit wrong. Seeing it in your review resets that to something more useful. Thanks for this.
Good review! I happen to have the Yoga C930 you showed beside the Spectre Folio - the Folio is coming but not here just yet. Love the C930 and I have no doubt I'll love the Spectre Folio. Again, good job!
I have purchased my last three laptops based on information in Lisa's reviews. While Lisa does cover the measurable performance details and compares competitors, she always reflects on what the typical user experience is. I like that Lisa defines different user types and applies the product to each. What might be great for an efficient mobile user will not be great for a gamer or graphics designer.
I am gonna get this. I have the Microsoft surface and it is super annoying with type cover and kickstand that does not work if you want to use it on your lap.
This thing is so different than anything out there, but I love the design. It seems so smart function-wise, and the best solution to the design (using leather) also makes it looks stunning.
Great job Lisa...I love the idea of this pc....been waiting for this review. There are...for my use case..very few compromises here. Have to go have a look at one soon....
Great looking machine I had one and sent it back because the "non precision drivers" in the track pad. It drove me crazy. I also had to reinstall the audio drivers 2 times a week during the 30 day period I had it before finally a USB slot went dead. HP took it back for a full refund. Until they up the quality control and put PRECISION drivers in this track pad, it is not worth buying. I hope they fix these issues in a version 2 because I absolutely loved the leather concept and would try another one.
Hi Lisa! Thanks for the nice and quick review, I was desperately searching for some more infos on this device! Would you recommend this over the hp spectre x360 13inch late 2017 version? I am an electrical engineer and now doing medschool. I primarily use it for note taking using onenote and studying. I've been working with the lenovo yoga 900s for the past year and I really loved it - but it had some issues and due to it not being sold any longer (and lenovo wasn't able to fix it) I have to get my money back and replace it with something else - as soon as possible! So that's why I am asking you: Are the extra bucks for the folio worth it in comparison to the spectre x360 late 2017 (I was thinking about getting the i5, 8GB RAM 256GB SSD version, which is selling for about 1100€ right now where I live)? Thank you so much!!
Bravo HP. You are so close to making what I REALLY want If it was... A. 3:2 display instead of 16:9 B. Capable of accepting at least a MicroSD slot for external storage C. Running ChromeOS D. Available in black Then I would be really mad as I would HAVE TO pony up the money and get myself one.
Excellent review, how often do we think "how does that laptop smell?". Lol. Can't imagine I'd ever have use for it, but I've worked with plenty of lawyers and oil men that are probably getting excited. Also digging the T-shirt. Snap.
Thanks for the review. It certainly isn't like anything else that is on the market and does seem to have the blend of the best bits of ultrabook and tablet. I keep coming back to the Surface Pro 6 and thinking about how useful the detachable tablet part is. But then it think that I will probably always want to have a cover over the screen, which means keeping the keyboard attached, which makes it no different to the Spectre Folio. I notice a lot of reviews talk about productive use and put this in terms of photoshop and gaming. I personally have no interest in gaming, but I am about performance for video editing for UA-cam (not Hollywood) but hardly any reviewer talks about the capability in this regard. It would be good to have this in future reviews.
I've loved and watched your clips for years 💕 If You had the choice between this HP and the Vaio Canvas from a couple of years ago (and I still can't afford lol) which would you choose and which do you think is better ?
Depends on what you need use it for, but I'd probably go with the HP for the normal ergonomic laptop use, better keyboard and 4x more pen pressure levels. The Canvas is a bit faster in CPU-heavy tasks and if you're using it for rendering that can make a difference.
Thank for the quick review Lisa. Could you review the NEW Hp Spectre X360 as well. I am trying to decide between the Folio and the new Spectre. Thank you
