Kate’s electric bass literally carries the band over the top on “Nip it in the Bud”. She’s a superhero….

The B-52s were one of the most musically creative and culturally subversive bands ever. They were so much more than a "Party band" though they are that too. As a musician I understood better how different they were musically.

The saxophone and trumpet players were cool.

Underrated channel. Thanks. I'm a big fan of documenting music history. It's very important stuff isn't lost in a bin or a hard drive or whatever. So much stuff is and that is a wound that never heals.

Thank you for the note of appreciation. A long story to unfold down the road, but most of these recordings were destined for a much worse fate than neglect -- they were moments away from being physically destroyed, but were salvaged in the end.
If a tree falls in the forest, does it make a sound? If we upload to this channel, hopefully it stands a chance of doing so.

@@therecordjunkies Thank you for whatever had to be done in order to salvage these tapes from destruction... I hope to hear your full story someday. You did a great thing because depending on the source of these recordings, they may never have been heard again 😔...and if some of these happen to be the source tapes and they were never copied, you did something not only special to fans & collectors but something for history. This B-52s show sounds really good.

@@robertkise Ample servings of TLC and time is primarily what had to go into presenting these. Oh, and in some cases luck that we were able to salvage what we could. For every tape shared, there are untold ones lost or destroyed before we had a shot at preservation. We'll continue sharing what we're able, keeping the selection diverse, with a mix of obscure and better known acts, other genres and all of varying audio quality. Thanks for listening and the kind comments.

We're previewing a few shows here and revisiting some which were too far under the radar, so yes.

I think I was there too, was this the show that was rescheduled? It was not too crowded but still a great show! Mesopotamia tour, Cindy in a gold wig!

Great show, surprisingly good sound quality. Anybody have a guess as to whether it's Kate or Cindy singing "Loveland"? I'm guessing Cindy, but their voices are so similar that it's hard to be sure.

Glad you're enjoying it. Correct, it was Cindy who handled the main vocals on "Loveland."
