Good teamwork between the driver and assistant drainer. The assistant must trust the drivers skills and experience in handling the massive machine, as he'd get easily squashed in seconds!
@@jonrfreeman It's very likely you had a lot of fun with your comment. What did you say to yourself, and how did you feel (after posting it) when you realised that it made no sense at all?
Its a dozier. Nothing is going to happen very quick. Now shoot grade for some herky jerky moron on an excavator and you will get your dam head knocked off. I refuse to work with idiots . Im usually the one operating anyway.
Drainage is useful in a field so flat and close to the water table. Drainage, storage and irrigation are the three most important improvements a farmer can make to his business. Good video, I like how much farmers around the world seem to face work with the same steadfastness.
I like this style plow! No big clumpy high pile to work down..... No trench to fill in, just get it done!!! Seem a bit close for spacing, but if they can use it for sub irrigation, they would have to be that close... Good video! Thank you!!
@@dannyemonds2377 some of the comments indicate it's for both drainage and irrigation... and the title is drainage... I can see where it could do double duty.... Wonder how much pressure you would put on it??? I would think, not over 10? 15? PSI... Pretty sure the 90 to 120 we run on the guns would be a bit much..lol
Holy crap draining tiling a complete field is pretty crazy idea, usually in the states we just the sections. Plus our government gets a little freaked out with it.
I think in the "thumb" part of Michigan, it's required. Big fields and along the road are ditches that will easily swallow a bus (winter driving can be .. so .. fun). The drains empty into those trenches.
Yay, the first Tractorspotter video of 2019! The funny thing is that Tractorspotter old video of this system being installed was in my feed lineup until yesterday, now that is just a little weird. Not complaining, love the videos, but it is a little strange.

🌸 *Hello tractorspotter* We are French farmers and we like to watch after farms videos, because everything is different, and interesting🍾🍷🍇 Congretulations from French farmers 🍾🍷🍇
Back in the 70s we used a trenching machine you loaded the tile pipe in a rack and let gravity carry it to the bottom of the trench every now and then we had a hang of course had to back fill trench
I could see benefits in a low lying area but that extent of drainage would really hafta produce results. Even if it made unusable land usable or doubled your yield on a particular crop it would seem hard to justify the cost. Pipe like that im guessing is 3 or 4 dollars a foot before its even delivered. Im missing something im sure. Farmers dont waste money that ive ever seen. They are usually the smartest people around. I use more of what I learned farming than I have most other experience.
Why so? He put a cap on the end of the pipe (because it was the end of the land), and then already fed in the other pipe so it was "in the machine" and ready for connecting to the main line on the other side of the field 3:53.
@@gsrorive Ah, now I understand. I didn't see that. Yes, it's recycled polypropylene fibers that cover the pipe. They are (mostly) non toxic for the environment but they also decompose very slowly, so of course it's better to not throw it on the ground.. Probably out of habit, they feel like cotton and there is a lot of it around the drainage, so in his mind it maybe doesn't feel that bad. But yeah, better not.
@@Bremberry Thank you for the extra info. The protective plastic straight looked like plastic to me I must admit. Of course I had no problem with the drain itself haha.
Interesting...in Canada we use mostly black perforated plastic pipe with a sock over it to limit sediment getting in...I didn't see the assistant put any cap on the open end of the drain tile...wouldn't the tile fill with sediment after awhile?

Functional machines are beautiful. Enjoyed it. Thank you from Japan.
Great video as always . Good idea to use the pipe for both drainage and irrigation, I'd never seen this before it's probably been around For years.

Great video to watch 😀 Another good example of farm machinery making a job look simple!!👌
Especially the way the hose reel has a hydraulic arm to tilt down and pick up the new roll.
Hele mooie video en bijzonder om te zien.

Great Video !
Its interesting seeing these really sandy soils because if we put a pipe that deep in our post glacial clay it wouldn't serve a purpose
grate work
Knap ...héél knap !
That system works well in your beautiful alluvial soil conditions. Rocky ground? No.
Do they reuse the old hose or just use new every time?
Leave it to the Dutch to come up with a crazy drainage machine like this.
f0rumrr this isn’t really too technical compared to systems that lay pipe using a trancher and that lay gravel down with the pipe aswell
Nice work.
Nette video!
