    YES THIS REVIEW IS GREAT.. do not get the size large the seat tube is way too long and the rear pivots and bolts come loose constantly its a huge pain.

      What if you need a size large!

      i need to edit it and put if you are on the edge of med/large size chart. id say anyone under 6ft should def stay clear from the large.

      Interesting to know. I’m 5,11’ and my current YT has a seat tube of 480mm, the size large of the 2019 AM is 465mm, I’m okay with that on paper. If I go down to a medium the reach will be less than my trail bike..

    I like the tire set-up on this bike, all bikes stock and in races, choose to use a fast rolling tire on the rear and a more grip tire on the front, logic being is the weight is mostly on the rear so a big tire will slow you down and the grip tire on the front because the front end is most likely slide out, but my opinion is starting to change, the fast rolling tires like the high roller or the minion ss have the side knobs to still corner well and roll fast so are perfect on the front but you need the chunky tire on the back for the grip and more importantly the brake power when you lock up.

      Niklassonen93 - haha! i'm guessing that is your favorite. well played.

    • @ShermanSitter
      @ShermanSitter 7 років тому +1

      niklassonen93 - Oh I see. Don't fret, I've been victim to 'looks' 2 times in my bicycle purchasing time. but they are so nice to look at! :) once you get past the mostly equitable specs, looks is the next factor!

    • @ShermanSitter
      @ShermanSitter 7 років тому +1

      niklassonen93 - sometimes if you wait a year they change it. I waited for 105s to have 11 speed for one of my purchases (2014 to 2015) and bought a bicycle then...the next year after the color scheme was puke-worthy, so timing can be crucial for the right mix! I feel your pain though, when you want one, it can be hard to wait!

      DFTA (Don't Feed The Animals) yeah. I love the giant trance 2017 paint job, but the spec is not threat good. But for 2018 the spec is spot on, but the colours are terrible.

    You mentioned the seat tube length being a problem on the the large. Does it have the same problem on the medium?

  • @TimMcgimpsey
    @TimMcgimpsey 7 років тому +2

    It's frustrating seeing that people still want bikes with shorter seat tubes. I am only 6'1 but I have really long legs and have a 125mm reverb past the minimum insert line on a large 2015 reign. If seat tubes keep getting shorter it is going to be very hard for long legged people like me to find bikes that will fit without a lot of seatpost showing.
    It appears that people with short legs have decided they need a 170mm dropper post so seat tubes must get shorter.

    they are out of the medium TR Origin that I wanted to buy for the next 6-8 weeks . should I consider the AM Origin in its place if I'm going to be riding trails most of the time or would I be taking a significant hit in the peddling department due to the extra weight, geometry difference, and long travel shocks?

    • @lorenzglobits9291
      @lorenzglobits9291 7 років тому +3

      I have the V4.2 AM and also ride trail most of the times. I think it pedals very good and is a beast downhill, you should definetly consider the AM version!

      Thanks for the info RcToThe FREAK. Wish there was a way to do a demo of these bikes but unfortunately I'm in the midwest. I'll likely be picking one up regardless.

    Its 2.5k USD on chainreactions and my parents wont get me the bike!!! Even though I am paying 1K from my own savings... I am really afraid that by the time that I am able to get the bike, it would be replaced by a new more expensive meta bike
